- I could've flown direct, but where's the fun in that? LIAT Airlines are a trouble Caribbean carrier with a mixed reputation but I decided to try them out anyway and fly to the world's most famous airport beach, Maho, in St Maarten. My mission was to fly 6 countries in 6 hours which is not an easy task - along the journey I explain about the airline and the troubles it faces.
Many years ago growing up in the Caribbean we were able to have two lay overs on Liat with no additional cost. So it was a fun way for Island hopping. You were able to stop over and spend a few days in an Island and move on to the next. That is how l was able to visit all of the following islands and spend time in each place. Form Trinidad and Tobago to Grenada, Barbados, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines. Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, St Kitts and Nevis, Jamaica. Those were the good old day.
A shame Liat had its final flight get yesterday
@@rimurutempest2982 and now its cheaper for me to fly from New York to the Caribbean than for people in the Caribbean to fly from one island to another. They also need to expand ferry service between the islands. A less expensive way for locals

LIAT aka Leave island Any Time. They had issues but often for a good reason. They rarely left anyone behind. People often complained until it was them running late into an airport and being happy that their flight waited for them. LIAT was a troubled airline, but it was our airline and now I miss it.

It was interesting watching your video. Liat has finally collapsed. But the point l would like to make is that sometimes I do not worry with negative reviews l see from others because my experience can be completely different from someone else. There is information that is sometimes helpful but don't always take for granted what others say. I have traveled to many destinations where others only shared so much negative but turned out to be wonderful destinations and memorable experiences.

We fly many times with LIAT's Dash 8 200 and later 300 from BGI via GND to to TAB the biggest delay incoming from POS 50 min. Rhe crew was ever friendly and the flight very comfortable

The one thing ATR must be grateful of, is that Fokker is now out of business. As I see it as a pilot and manager for business is that ATR is a very limited aircraft compared to Fokker. Hope the rumors to become reality about Fokker's comeback.
You are certainly correct, the airlines punctuality has been a sore over the years , even now with less aircrafts and need for pumping of investment to keep the carrier afloat has been some of the problems the carrier is facing. They are receiving competition from caribbean airlines and inter caribbean airways on many of their routes where its worth mentioning ive heard the customer service is much more compelling...

yes I hope so too. it was always going to happen tho sadly.
I travelled with LIAT many times and never had an issue with the service or staff. Not evertyhing you read is true. You cannot expect much in the way of food or drinks on these flights as they are short journeys, also do not be surprised to see patients being transported betwen islands.

Gate 3 Liat Airlines to St. Vincent, Antigua, St. Lucia, gate 2 is Copa Airlines to Panama and gate 6 American Airlines to MIA.
Very good video. Just one correction: Dominica is a Windward Island. Dominica is the northernmost of the Windward Islands. It may be easier to say Lesser Antilles or Eastern Caribbean Islands.
