This exaggerated take on the rivalry between two cereal companies is packed with big stars, cartoon-like shenanigans, and perhaps a bit too much cheesy humor.
I find this sort of movie hard to recommend to someone, but at the same time I did have some genuine laughs in it. I felt like you had to give it 45 minutes to get going which sounds a little ridiculous. But I thought the full cereal funeral was funny, JFK was funny, Cronkite was funny... but the movie was overall meh.
It’s a fun movie. I don’t understand all the critical antagonism toward it. It’s not intended to be the next Apollo 13 or king Lear. It’s just a silly movie about cereal and pop tarts.
I watched it and it was just okay. Although Christian Slater still looked in his 30's, which was cool!

Not sure that "antagonism" is the right word. My overall verdict was "it's fine."
