It is not quite fair to say that Doudou smiles more and feels happier with Chinese friends. We saw him having fun with his new friends much more than with the children of his village who did not want to lend him their kite. He’s had so many interactions in the last few weeks.
The language barrier prevents him from communicating with other people, adults and children. Similarly, as for adults, his palate is accustomed to Chinese food (very varied and spicy) and changing diet overnight was really not easy. But we have often seen him smiling and flourishing despite interactions without real dialogue.
It is normal for him to have a little bit of trouble with the country in this context, especially since he knows that his return passport is ordered. To make a shortcut from an emotion expressed by this little angel would be a shame because we know how much this trip will have enriched him, it is a fleeting nostalgia.
So it would be nice if he learned his mother’s language! He shared unforgettable moments with the other children and was carried by the love of his aunts, uncles, cousins, cousins and grandparents! This trip will have rooted it in its African identity because even if it will live in China it is these two cultures!

So true!! Somehow and subtly, the vloggers like to compare Africa to China and assert that there country, people, and lifestyle are better.
There are good and bad things because there are no perfection to satisfy all taste. Most imperative way to inculcate young mind to adapt into integration instead becoming segregationist and hatred idealogy unfortunately by many politicians.
YOU ALWAYS MEET GOOD HEARTED PEOPLE WHEREVER YOU GO. DOUDOU IS HAVING A GOOD TIME IN AFRICA WITH HIS AFRICAN FAMILY. Yes and he smiles and plays with his cousins. Great work Lao and Geng❤❤

Its not a make up statement. Yes, I heard in Mandarin chinese, Doudou did say he misses home in China, when asked. As the saying goes "There is no place like home". And the fact that he has spent large 4 years of his life in Pingli, Shaanxi, China, and being borne there. Honest, no prejudice about it of Tanzania !

So what are you trying to say, he prefers his Chinese friends than his family ! he was excited to be in a different place and eating one of his favorite meal that he haven't eaten since he left China, I think you need to revisit some of those videos that they did in the village where they live in China because I haven't recall seeing him that excited in any of them either.

@@iggymich I have always given Doudou credit, and of course, he is happy to be in the city than in the village, haven't you seen him doing the same when they go to the cities in China, and there isn't anything wrong with dust, as a child a played in the dirt and if did not harm me and I prefer to live in a place where there is dust and not polluted.

It’s important to appreciate each culture and not compare. This is a cultural exchange - not a competition. Africa is a very well-developed continent, and I think many of our Chinese friends would be shocked if they travelled to many countries in Africa. I loved watching the country life and culture in rural Tanzania and China. Every country has deep rural areas, but it doesn’t mean the country as a whole is not developed.

I grew up in Jamaica and this vlog reminds me of my childhood. Thank you for allowing us to travel and experience the countryside with you. I especially enjoyed the trip to the farm and grandma. On a. side note, cow foot stew, oxtail and cow intestines (tripe) is amazing when cleaned and cooked correctly.

I just wish to share my thoughts on Dou Dou. Some viewers commented earlier about his unruly behavior of snatching items from his sister. Dou Dou is a very intelligent boy, well advanced for his age. But we must not forget the fact that he’s only just 4 years old and also crave for love and attention especially from his loved ones. Remembered he once went up the hill to look for grandpa and grandpa brought him down on his back. All can tell that he was so happy then! Felista should also pay more attention to him and not brush him off just like when he offered her a piece of sugar.

By the way, for anyone who never had Chinese hot pot but are interested, I highly recommend to start off with Mongolian style hot pot first as an introduction, and then Szechwan if you think you can handle more heat🌶️. When I was an expat in China, we had hot pot often. It’s so good and I can tell LaoLi was so happy to get a taste of back home. It’s comforting and makes you feel so good inside. Thank you for sharing this experience with us.
