I am 2 1/2 weeks out from a TKR. I am currently using a CTC -7 cold therapy machine and two Manamed Plasma Flow lithium ion battery operated compression selves for my calfs. The cold therapy machine is something I recommend for anyone going for a TKR. Easy to use and works great. The compression selves are used to prevent blood clots which I wore during the days at times and while I was sleeping. My knee is still a little stiff but I was walking without a walker and a cane the second day after surgery. Yes we are all different in how our bodies react to this surgery. Do your exercises before and after faithfully and the road to back to normal will be shorter. Thanks for the video.

3 and 1/2 weeks out from TKR. have four good ice pack wraps and use two of them after each of my 3x-a-day exercies, one on the knee, the other on the calf, and I lay down for at least 30-minutes. I also wear compression hose to help prevent blood clots. I also use the ice machine when I'm not up and around in between home exercise sessions. Swelling reduced very quickly and now I'm just working on the muscle soreness and busting up scar tissue. Great suggestions!
I purchased the ice machine from Amazon for my first TKR and now 1 week into recovery for the other knee. It’s the best because it is made in Ohio and this company stands behind their product. Both times the hospital sent me home with a different ice machine. It was part of the surgery package. But the one I bought is better because I use frozen water bottles in it and don’t have to keep a supply of ice. Plus it is less messy so no danger of slipping on a wet floor. Worth it, no matter the cost.

Yes! I would definitely get both the machine and the ice packs. Most people say they can’t live without the ice machine and it is a game changer. The ice packs are helpful for when you need to go in the car or when you want ice without having to set up the ice machine.

They usually say 20 years. That’s amazing you still have yours!!
Mine has lasted 26 years and now I go in for revision surgery on 9/5. Am 79 yrs old and have increased anxiety over this.
