FBI aiding in investigation into deaths of 4 University of Idaho students

- Earlier this week, Stacy and Jim Chapin got the call that no parent ever wants to receive.
“We're just trying to process it,” said Stacy Chapin, Ethan Chapin’s mother. “It's not a call that you think that you're going to, have to speak with the funeral home directors, and the FBI and have it hit national news.”
They received the call their son Ethan Chapin had been killed. Ethan’s siblings were the ones who shared the news with their parents.
Ethan was among four students who were found dead in a home near the University of Idaho over the weekend. They are said to have been killed with an “edged weapon” on Sunday night.
Ethan was originally from Skagit County and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 2021.
Ethan was a triplet. His parents say they were all so close that they even attended college together. They all just celebrated their 20th birthday a few weeks ago.

Blows me away that 4 people got killed with a knife without anyone hearing screams or someone trying to run away. The world needs the full story asap.

Honestly no one can say FOR SURE what it wasn't if there is no evidence right? It would be safer to assume it could be anything. Still very tragic. These kids had their whole lives ahead of them. All students. I hope they solve this for their families.

Omg...this is unbelievably insane ! Justice hopefully will come. I can't imagine how all these families are handling this horrific ordeal. I can't do or say much other than my thoughts and prayers go out to all the friends and family of these young adults.
I pray for an update that they have caught the person or persons responsible for this.

It is so very sad in the time of social media that families can not have privacy while grieving such a tragic event. Many keyboard maniacs seek some kind of notoriety off the tragedy. Prayers the FBI can find the person or people responsible and justice can be served.

These kids were slaughtered like livestock. The community including local law enforcement is traumatized to the point where the State Police and FBI should have been in charge from the beginning. This is worse than the Manson Family killings of 1969 with the same evil intensity! There is a cutthroat killer or killers our there and nothing but the full mobilization of response is required. The Governor of Idaho needs to take his leadership role to its fullest and relieve this small town Mayor of this daunting task. Moscow Idaho us right on the Washington State line and cries for multi State, multi-jurisdiction effort from Monday on. This should never have been a small town, police department effort from the get go. The Governor should have stepped up as coordinator within hours of this absolutely horrible crime. Beautiful young kids with promising lives having their throats slit! WAKE UP GOVENOR!
It's a common misconception that 'Small town PD's' get involved in turf 'jurisdiction' wars. Totally contrary to the truth 99% of the time. But, the Local Department is typically the first on scene, and initiates the investigation. In cases where other resources are needed, such as the resources of the FBI and/or State, the Small PD's will almost always be grateful. Why wouldnt they?
No one did anything wrong or differently in this case.
It immediately was sealed off & taped. No one allowed in & Idaho State Police took over right from the start. FBI then entered. They did nothing wrong. Al least we never defunded our law enforcement. Arm chair investigation needs to be done with your mouth taped. You know nothing.

Parents if you send your kids off to college please have them get a doorbell camera and cameras around their home. That way there is a video recording of who is entering and leaving their house.
