  • Our UROONC BCa chief editor Dr. Benjamin Pradere had a great discussion with Prof. Paolo Gontero on the new treatment of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer. They talked about what's new in the field of immunotherapy in NMIBC, the different approaches of FDA and EMA on new drugs and more.

Please try the new drug, Anktiva with BCG. I heard great result from it. Chemo eat the bad and good cell, so this is not a good option. Anktiva activate the natural killer cell for tumor, increase T-cell to fight cancer, and T-memory to enhance the drug effectiveness. All 3 works in harmony to fight the cancer. There are no special handling or procedure on the drug. It's mix with BCG and administrated the same way and time. The response rate is around 60 percent and the duration can be more than 2 years. The side effect is minimal and compare to BCG. This drug is available in the USA for now. If you happen to get this treatment, please share your experience.

Highly not. The new treatment is from the USA. Companies are willing to spend millions if not billion to make the drug here. Population and the health system here make it worth their time. It will funnel down to the other countries in time, but if you need the new treatment now, then you have no choice but to come to the USA for it. Anktiva with BCG is the latest approved drug for unresponsive non-muscle bladder cancer.
