I don't think you can really measure a punch that accurately for one they are punching an electronic bag while they are cold and not warmed up so imagine on fight night adrenalin pumping with nerves and body at full out put I bet they hit way harder in action

How fast you move your arm makes a huge difference to the forces delivered. A fast, super snappy jab should deliver the most force. The faster the arm is moving when impacting the better... Double the weight doubles the forces, double the speed and you raise the forces exponentially...

Those machines aren't reliable. Especially the ones in bars and clubs because they are rarely recalibrated.

Speed x weight equals force. That doesn’t account for the follow through and the absorption of force by the body. A man who weighs 250 hitting another man the same size is going to transfer the force equally. A smaller man hitting a bigger man means the smaller man is going to absorb more of the force back in his own body. A big man hitting a small man means the lower body weight receiving the blow is going to absorb the greatest force in any scenario. It’s like a car crash. A semi moving slow crush a small car but if a semi hitting another semi there is enough mass in each truck when it’s not going to damage either vehicle. A small vehicle going fast into a semi is going to damage the small car and barely hurt the large truck. If you have a large truck going fast into a small car then it’s over for the car. Same goes for punches. A small man punching fast can generate a lot of force but it only damages small cars. A semi moving slower can generate the same force as a small car but it’s going to do way more damage even though the force is the same.

@PeterFeltersnatch852 and, some people are very... rock headed. How many years has he been in the UFC? Would you say that he has improved? Stayed the same? Or gotten worse over those years? He practically grew up in the UFC, and yeah... maybe he was a better boxer than Pereira when they first fought, he still had much to learn. Against Pereira (go rewatch his hands) he stuck them far out to block and parry. Suddenly, this action was cleaned up and unseen when he fought Izzy. Remind you... Izzy just KO'd Pereira last before going in to fight Strickland, who came in on short notice, he trained with Pereira and learned how to hit harder, he tightened up his loose guard also.
Strickland beat up the guy that had just beat up Pereira, Pereira of course... is a better fighter than Izzy, slightly, Izzy is the more crafty fighter. Strickland has improved constantly, and there is no such thing as luck when DDP didn't get lucky against Whittaker and unlucky against Strickland. Strickland has proven there are levels to this game and that he belongs where he belongs after not only beating the reigning Adesanya who whooped Whittaker, but out striking DDP who TRASHED Whittaker. There's definitely levels to this game, and Whittaker is strictly the gatekeeper to the top 3-5. 💯
