    Is there a way for players to not go in the draft? like i created meme players for me and my friends to have fun in a franchise mode but when i tried creating a new one they always show up in the year 1 draft

    • @dmac26official
      @dmac26official  Před 2 lety +2

      The only way to make them show up, and skip the draft is to either give them a contract on a current NHL team, and assign them to that team pre franchise mode startup.
      Or to make them 21 or older. If they are 21 or older. Do not assign them to a team, and they will appear as undrafted free agents.
      But every other team will have the opportunity to sign that player as well.
      Or, again. Assign them to a team and give them a contract.
      If you're making an expansion Franchise it gets tricky. Either have to go through the draft, or get lucky and have them sign with you in free agency.
      Or make them 26 years old, and you can offer them LARGE contracts. And just simply out bid other teams.

  • @dwaynemclaughlin6052

    • @dmac26official
      @dmac26official  Před 2 lety

      They could. I think it would all depend on whether it would be considered a good or bad contract, or a player worth protecting.
      If you were to make yourself like... a 21 year old Playmaker with Top 6 Potential, but only 77 overall on a 6 year 5 million a year deal. That would be considered a bad contract, and the team would be unlikely to protect you.

    How can I create a player for a created team like the Nordiques in Franchise mode so I can access him? When I try to make him a free agent, no matter what terms and 1-way status I enter in Creation Zone, when I play Franchise Mode and use a custom team (Nordiques in the 33 team custom roster choice), go through the expansion and entry drafts, when I get to the free agent signings the player can ONLY sign a 3-year 2-way rookie deal. I can't outbid other teams, which was the thinking behind making my custom player a free agent when I created him. I can't assign a custom player to my custom roster, either. HELP?!?

    • @dmac26official
      @dmac26official  Před 2 lety +2

      You have multiple options.
      You can make your created player 18 years old, so he appears in the first entry draft after your expansion draft and what not. And you are basically guaranteed a top 5 pick at that draft. (If you make a player 18 years old or less, make sure to assign him to a minor league team, example OHL)
      You could make your player 26 years old, I know... that sucks. But that way, he is no longer eligible for an entry level contract. So you could simply outbid any team to get him.
      OR! You could make him a free agent like you did before. And make his birthplace/hometown Quebec. It doesn't guarantee that he will sign with you, but it certainly ups your chances.
      Or basically, put him on a team that already exists, with a nice long contract. And relocate that team to Quebec. I would say Arizona would make the most sense.
      Hope that was helpful.

    • @dmac26official
      @dmac26official  Před 3 lety +5

      Hmm. That is strange.
      After you create your player. If he is below 18 years old. Assign him to a minor league team. He should then become eligible in an upcoming draft.
      If you make him NHL age. Give him a contract, in the creation zone. And then after you're done creating him, make sure to assign him to an NHL team.
      Then, once you begin your Franchise, he should show up on your team.
      If you're making an expansion team, you cannot place created players directly on it. But you have to go through free agency, and hope you win him, there.
      Now in Free Agency, I've heard people say that they couldn't find their created player. It's because, if he's young enough for an entry level contract, that is all he would be eligible for. And the sorting in the free agency screen, goes by how much money the player wants. So instead, sort based on Overall. Remember what the overall of your created player was, and find him in the list that way.
      If you are using an existing franchise mode. You cannot add players to it, once it's already been created.
      I hope this helped you. 🙂

    • @dmac26official
      @dmac26official  Před 3 lety

      I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Do you mean, create a player and just have him in the roster of your Be a Pro? Or do you mean create a 99 overall player, and play his career?
      Because if you want to create a 99 overall player and control him. It doesn't work that way. The only way to get to 99 overall in Be a Pro is to grow to 99 overall.
      If you want to create yourself as a 99 overall player. I would suggest putting him on the desired team. And playing a franchise mode, position locked on his position. Example: LW.
      Yeah, you have to play as every LW on the team. But if he's 99 overall, I'm sure he has the most LW ice time.

    Is it possible to put them on an expansion team on an expansion team?

    • @dmac26official
      @dmac26official  Před 3 lety +1

      That gets a bit trickier.
      If your created player is underage. You have to have the right draft pick to get them on your expansion team, in their draft eligible year.
      If you make them 20 years old, and put them on a minor league team, they will likely show up later in the draft, but you'll still need the proper pick to get them. Unless they're Franchise potential. Then they're basically automatically 1st overall.
      If your created player is 21 years old to 25 years old. They show up in free agency.
      But you can only offer them entry level deals. To find them, sort by overall, and find them that way.
      Problem is, every other team also has dibs on them. So its a bit tougher to get them on your team. I would suggest making their hometown the same as your expansion team.
      If they're a hometown boy, your chances of landing them goes up, a bit.
      But if you make your created player 26 years old (I know, I know...) then it just becomes a bidding war to get that player, and you can offer them whatever amount of money you want, to get them on your team.
      1 million above asking will almost guarantee that they sign with you.
      I hope that was helpful.
      Here's another 2 options.
      1. Try to sign them as a free agent, if they sign somewhere else, simply trade for them.
      2. In player creation. Under details, give them a contract like 10 million a season, and give them a slightly lower overall. That should cause their value to go down a bit, and could make them easier to trade for.
      But for the most part, your best bet is to either make them a minor, and get them at the draft. Or make them 26 years old, and just overpay for them.

      I suppose you could put them on an existing roster. Example: the Coyotes. And then substitute the Coyotes with a custom team, when starting a Franchise Mode.
      But, if you're creating an expansion team, no. They have to either be drafted in the first 3 years of your Franchise, or picked up as a Free Agent, as a player 20 or older.
      If they are 20 to 25 years old, they can only be offered Entry level contracts, and it will be more difficult to sign them. So I suggest making their birthplace the same as your custom team, to up your chances of them signing.
      Or make them 26 or older and be able to offer them any contract you like, and essentially assure that you get that player by outbidding everyone else.
      Your best option in my opinion, is making them draft eligible, in year 2 of your Franchise mode. That way you have a full season to grow and move assets and picks, to make sure you're able to get your custom player.

      In the Creation Zone, from your main menu. You'll have a list of your created players.
      Click on the player you want to add to a team, and click assign team.
      If he is 19 or younger, you can scroll through the leagues and place him on a minor league team, and he will be available in the draft, depending on his age.
      The younger he is, all the way down to 15 years old. The longer it will be until he is draft eligible.
      18 years to 19 years old, he will be available in the first draft of your Franchise mode.
      If he is older than 18, you can click assign team and place him on whatever team you choose.
      But I would suggest, while creating your player, you give him a contract. Otherwise it gets tricky to deal with, and your created player may not always show up.
      If you make him 21 years old, but don't want to assign him to a team, because you're making an expansion Franchise. It's a roll of the dice on whether or not he will accept your contract offer.
      So you may have to wait for him to sign somewhere else, and simply trade for that player.

      You have to set them up with contracts, unless they are under 18.
      And then in your main Creation Zone created player list. You have to select them all and assign them to teams.
      Make sure this is the roster that you have as your active roster, and they should all appear in your new Be a Pro save.
      If the save isn't a new one. They won't appear. But if you make a new Be a Pro after the created players have been made, they should appear on their assigned teams.

    Can I just play games with my created character

      @dmac26official  Před 4 měsíci

      Sadly, you can basically play Be a Pro with your created player. There is a position lock in Franchise Mode, but not a player lock.
      I wish there was. 😢

      Yup! All the way back, as far as I can remember. Not sure about games pre NHL 14, because that's too far back to remember.
      But any game after that point is a yes.

      @@zantom5888 Leave him as Undrafted. And in player creation, do not set his Pro Team.
      Wait until after you save your player, and are back at your list of Created Players, click on him, and click Assign Team, scroll to OHL, WHL, QMJHL, or wherever your created guy wants to play, in the minors. Then he should be eligible for the first draft when you begin your Franchise mode.

      @@zantom5888 No worries, buddy. Just create your player. Appearance, handedness, height, weight, attributes and potential. And save.
      Don't edit anything about Pro Team, Contracts, nothing. Just leave that alone.
      And then Assign Team after you've saved and you see your player in your Created Players list, to a minor league team. Making sure that he is 18 years old.
      Then start your Franchise mode, and he should show up in the very first draft.
