Thanks for posting this comparison. It's exactly what I needed to know, because the Slimlines have always been a go-to trimmer for me, even though I also have the Babyliss Silver FX, cordless Detailers, and cordless T Outliners. I modified a set of Slimlines with the GTX blade, but they never really cut as sharp as the regular blade. I'll probably buy these new ones because I'm a trimmer junkie, but at least I know what to expect now.

Thanks for the great video. You are 100% right about this one. I bought the Slimline Pro GTX and it was useless for balding out for me. I like it for lineups and for tapers. But on a mid-fade on medium hair it was getting stuck on the back of the head. I had to switch to the Wahl cordless detailer.

I use slimline on kids back of the head neck, and under the chin and cheek because they're not hitters they won't make people uncomfortable, I love them for that reason I have them modded they're a great tool for sensitive areas and people

One of the other barbers that I work with showed me some thing that sharpens blades,it had a rough side of metal with diamonds shapes and the other side was smooth and had a handle…about the size of a big smart phone,long story short he put some oil on the smooth side and filed the inner side of both blades for no more than 5/10 minutes on and off checking the blade,this thing can file down the stationary blade as thin as a razor blade within minutes which you wouldn’t do obviously but I’m saying this thing make any blade as sharp as you could possibly get…this thing makes lineups hit harder than with the 60 second modifier and goes through bulk way better and doesn’t pull the skin like when going against the grain

I have the slimlines li and I modded them and ran into the same problems you ran into with the blades misaligning after use, I did get the babyliss black fx which is now my primary trimmer. But I continued the use my slimlines as a way to create my bald line since it’s not as strong my bald line can be easily erased, I was wondering if I can just buy the gtx blade and slap it on my old slimlines or should I just buy the whole slimline gtx trimmer
I blame the people for this. A lot of reviews claimed that that Slimline Pro Li hits. I disagree. Nonetheless the clipper needs more power.

Forgive me as I’m new to this. Just for personal use at home but trim for friends. Why the GTX over try e original? Can one just use the outliner? Or is it to save $$?
A good comparison to these Slimelines are the Wahl 5 Star Align cordless Trimmers and they good can you do a review.
Is the babyliss good for a beginner or would it be overkill
I think the babyliss moves the hair cause the blade moves to fate where the andis is slower and actually cuts the hair and stays accurate

I already have the slimline with the regular blade. I'd also be curious to know if you can fit the gtx blade on the trimmer. I don't want to spend money on just buying a new trimmer.
U can modify the gtx blade to fit the li i did its the best
@@mrdavis4931 Slimline li is a good trimmer but it lacks power. I use it to get in tight spaces but I don't use it to lime up my forehead.

Do you know if they're going to sell that particular Blade with that bracket system separately for the Slimline Pro Li?
Not sure if it matters, but the holes on the top blade that come with the Slimline GTX line up with the holes in the trimmer body, unlike when you do the mod yourself (he shows it at 10 min)

Pretty true to size. Some say they’re slightly bigger. Just buy your size. You’ll be fine

some said the gold actually cuts a bit more bulk faster than the silver..some said the silver has deeper details in edge ups..but they both are very powerful items. ..
Like everything they have pros/cons..
@@ilijacvetkovic2922 gold tooth has a thinner blade (it's also a deep tooth just not as deep as Babyliss deep tooth) silver does better with bulk but the golds get closer to the skin and give sharper lines.

You can get sharp lines with both, but just get the regular li’s

You can modify them if you want, or you can simply zero gap them. These trimmers are ok. I wouldn’t buy them if you’re considering them.

You should of challenged the slim line pro li with the regular little stock blade . That blade hit harder than the toutliner blade on the slim line pro li trimmer

can anyone tell me how to identify if my andis slimline is one of the lithium ion battery powered ones? ...because from my understanding, the older ones were nicad... & ive had mine for about 4 or 5 years now(?) ...& i hear everyone rave over how great they are, & ive honestly been very disappointed with it, it barley makes it thru a haircut before they start slowing down & sounding weak? & im debating on replacing them with either a new slimline gtx or the babyliss skeletons? always enjoy ur videos man, thank u & merry christmas
