- We go over how to set a curve in your msd pro Billet distributor using different advance bushings and Springs. We also do a jet change on our eight50 ultra xp carburetor. We go over the charts from MSD and also choose a curved kit that suits our engine. And as usual if anyone needs to get a hold of us you can email us at H1971 elcamino@yahoo!.com.

Happy 4th! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks rich 😎✌️
Interesting info Herb , I have only one non- vacuum distributor on the 66 and never have changed it from the milder street settings , I thought it would be difficult to do ..not so . Thanks for sharing, enjoy your day tomorrow.
Shawn

@@MMCGRACING- Thank You !
Hey, that was very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks buddy I’m glad the information can help you out 😎✌️👍
Good info sir!! 👍👊
Very good, my small block Ford in my Sunbeam Tiger needs a quick distributor curve since the car is light, 355 rear end Posi traction, and a race cam, plus upgraded World product heads with bigger valves. Around 9 to 1 compression.
Sounds like a nice setup buddy 💪👍
happy father's day to you brother and enjoy the day as well
Thanks fam you have a great one also 😎👍✌️
Yep great info, thanks 👍
Thanks buddy much appreciated 👍
People don't realize the compromises you have to deal with when running cars like ours on the street. I agree with Bill locked out on the street is much easier ro get the tune right the mixter burns better at idle and the low rpm and off idle throttle response is much better BUT the negative is tge motor runs hotter in traffic, hard starting especially with a heat soaked starter and starter kick back which can damage the starter or flex plate and greater chance of detonation for those reasons I unlocked the dizzy in yhe camaro
Great video Herb. Keep up the good work buddy. Can’t wait to ride shotgun when you test her out. Big Al.
Thanks big al 😎👍
Great video bud! Super helpful in reading the charts. Swapping out the springs and bushings, do you need to completely remove the distributer, or can it be done with it still mounted in the cam?
It could be done in the car thanks for watching 💪
Happy Father's Day Herb!
Ya too brother 😎👍
Another great informative how to video. Just curious if you have ever dynoed you motor at the crank or wheels? I know every motor is different but 36 degrees seems a bit light for a motor like that . Every sbc similar to yours that I've dynoed has liked atleast 38. On the dyno mine liked 40 best but being a street car on pump gas I run 38 degrees
We dyno at the flywheel and it liked 36 on pump gas..👍🤙🏻
love the video man , i have a 73 Charger 400 low compression , i have an msd ready to run distributor with its coil and wiring , the problem is my car is lazy on low rpms (it's a 4 speed ) but i push the gas pedal and open the 4 bbl it moves pretty good , i have a street demon carb 625 cfm ( also had many problems with rich mixture especially on low rpms you have to kick the 4bbl to make it go ) engine is stock and didn't know much about these springs and am not very familiar with timing and stuff , anyways what do you think my car needs for the perfect spring and bushing setup needs to be happy ( car is used for cruising but many uphills where i live ) thanks in advance
I would use light blue and the small silver one , that lets the timing come in around 3k all in, and also would turn the idle mixture screws in a half turn to lean out the idle mixture, also you could try adding a few degrees of timing, I would run total timing around 34 to 36 degrees
@@MMCGRACING thanks man waiting for spring since the car is in storage ,i bet it will make a noticable difference on low rpm
how do you deal with the aka Cam over lap I have a skip white performance 520 and 495 on tork gettin a goofy stumble from 1,800 rpms to 2,300 rpms skip said it the hogs leg came what up with that it didnt show on the dino there reply was your dino was done at 2,000 rpms to 6.200 and now there sayin change the still and Disp springs what isup
It’s sounds like a lean condition at that rpm, I would check vacuum and possibly change the power valve to a a larger one
thanks for your advice have you ever heard of a cam over lap???
Yes my elcamibo has a lot overlap , ( duration) but it don’t break up or miss at certain rpm that’s why I said what I said before ✌️👍
