At the beginning of her career in 1996, some folks dubbed her the Korean Mariah Carey. Let's be honest, the legendary Mariah Carey, in her prime and on her best day, did not possess either the vocal stamina or breath control of So Hyang. The comparison has come and gone. So Hyang is in a league of her own, on another level up.

The arrangement is a masterpiece and her vocals are stunning. Even more incredible is that she was actually recovering from pneumonia when she sang this. Such a shame you did not have the link of the video, because there is one (with over 10M views) and well worth watching because it so adds up to the experience.
So Hyang, her husband, and some assistants, arrange every aspect of her live performances; the music, backing vocals, staging, lighting, etc.
Even in sickness, the PHENOMENAL So Hyang gives a MASTER CLASS performance. Some time prior to this event, she had been released from the hospital, still recovering from her latest bout with pneumonia (eight times between 2016 - 2020). Her doctors advised her to cancel, to not speak, and to just rest. So Hyang did not want to disappoint the audience. Furthermore, she believed her singing career was over and wanted to sing one last time.
After the performance/event, she was readmitted to the hospital. So Hyang disappeared from public singing for nearly two years. When she returned in 2020, her technique was rock solid. In 2023, not only does she look even more beautiful, she sounds better than ever before. Her vocal range is still ridiculous, and her breath control remains insane.
Various comments indicated she is singing to God.
Can you believe it? She has suffering with pneumonia when this performance. . But it's true. .!!(She suffered from pneumonia about eight times between 2016 and 2018).. .
