The Engine needs to be running and in Park in order to check the level of the fluid.Start the Engine, and go through each of the positions pausing for 5 seconds in each position before returning to the Park position, then wait a couple of mins before checking the level on the dipstick. The most accurate reading will be obtained when the transmission fluid is at a fully warmed up temperature, which will be after at least 10 mins of driving. The fluid expands as it heats up,so if you had a reading on the dipstick that was at the upper end of the cool mark with the car not having been driven, but just idling, you would almost certainly be a little bit over the upper hot mark after driving the car for 10-15mins and then checking. The correct Fluid for this vehicle is Toyota T-IV/Aisin Type T-IV( this is stamped on the dipstick above the hot reading marks), NOT Dexron 3 or any other Dexron Fluid. The easiest way to do a drain a fill,is to measure the quantity of fluid you collect, and put back the same amount.
You prolly dont care but if you are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all the new series on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my gf for the last weeks :)
Hi Jorge, thank you for your comment. Yes I would say that would fix it but before you do that you can make sure if your old plug has a washer or not, it might be missing that why it is leaking. I hope that help. Thank you

I drained my trans fluid from the sump from hot, left it draining overnight. I used 2.9L ATF to refill.

Help me understand does all Vitz 1999-2005 use CVT for gear box oil , or some use ATF
Is oil pressure recalibration mandatory after cvt oil change ?
To be sure, is it yaris semi automatic? My yaris stucks in P when it heats up so I think changing oil will fix that problem
Hi do you know the torque spec for the drain plug bolt ?

in my car there is a leak from the drain plug, how can I fix it? just changing the drain plug?

Pretty sure you need to take the straw out to completely drain the pan...
How many liters goes in
Not sure exactly. I think I used about 2 litres because I did a while ago. I hope someone else can confirm.
No sorry I just judge it myself...tight but not very hard.
