My first mule deer hunt too
@@codedillerjones7861 good luck hope you get one
SAME. struggling on using the SW and still not sure where to go...@@dustinhallett4160
Another thing in October I noticed in NV is they ALWAYS hang out on the steepest north facing chutes they can find. Top 3rd feeding in morning then bedded in bottom 3rd mid day.
Mr. Miller thanks for this. It's great to confirm methods.
Been applying these tips this summer and its slowly starting to pay off, thank you!
Stoked to hear that! We appreciate you checking out the video.
Thanks 🙏 Brady for some quick yet very useful tips and tricks to help one find mule deer 🦌 Hopefully 🙏 I can get out west soon and put them and others into action.
Glad you found the video useful. Thanks for checking it out!
I also wanted to say I struck out on my last 3 mule deer hunts so I'm now as obsessed as Brady!
Me too! Good luck to us both this year!
Great vid! I love bow hunting muleys!
Excellent video, great job Brady.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the tips man just drew my first mule deer tag in co. Can’t wait😎🌝
Good luck this season!
Awesome video, but mainly only useful for mountain mule deer, which is not what I was looking for.
thanks for all the info Brady!
Good stuff! I got October buck tags in ID and NV. I'm amazed at where mule deer live with no water in NV. It always baffled me how they were getting their water intake. Now I know!
Thank you!
I got a gorgeous buck this weekend, and spotted a huge mature buck.
Your tips have made me very efficient. I found a great bedding and scrape area after stalking a huge buck.
I appreciate you!😊
Great video thank you from the tips thanks for sharing!
Glad to help, thanks for watching!
I got my CO deer tag. Looking forward to November
My tip for finding mule deer is to just take your eyes off the road for a couple seconds. BAM!
What program are you using on your computer that displays the terrain really well? I currently am using onX. That’s it.
What terrain analysis app would you suggest
So here’s my thing I know where the mule deer are but I don’t know how to close in on them. I’ve been bow hunting for a couple days now and the closet I’ve got is 96 yards. Any tips anyone? And I live in Wyoming if that means anything.
Can you do a elk one?
Also, is it true that hunting Mule deer in open range cattle areas in SE Arizona is not good? I got drawn for 30A, lots of open cattle ranges.
Thanks much indeed for a very useful review.
May I ask you what you consider to be the absolute minimum power to be for a spotting scope (assuming quality glass to start with)?
Thanks again!
Cody Nelson, our glassing guru, says he's a huge fan of the compacts in the 15-45x range!

Thank you indeed!
Cool channel man
Thanks!
Tips 2 and 3 feel like they're based on this guy's intuition and preference, but it didn't seem like he had a strong reason for them other than the understated fact that he expects to find more deer in isolated areas, but that was only applicable to Tip 2.
It's fine to give tips based on intuition and preference _if your audience has a relationship with you_ which could be achieved in a video series, but it's less effective in a stand alone video or with strangers.
What about in the plains of CO? Not everyone goes to the mountains
Alfalfa field
Eastern New Mexico
Is there a slope grade you focus on?
not flat 2/3 to the top
I’m in a wheelchair and can’t really hunt ruff terrain, I live in central oregon. I was curious if you had any suggestions for someone in my situation.
Andrew thanks for reaching out!
Wyoming and Montana would be a good start...any state that has antelope hunting would be a good species to apply for and pursue. In most open country cases you could essentially hunt from a vehicle and it's likely to get shot opportunities within close proximity of a road. The same goes for mule deer, take a look at eastern Montana or WY. Start by researching areas that are primarily BLM and consist of open rolling sage and grasslands.
Really hope you find this helpful and please reach out with any additional questions!
Andrew I know plenty of folks who hunt from roads and trucks. Your best best is to find the dirt roads and find a remote area with a good vantage point that you can set up in. Use a rifle you're familiar with and be patient! let the game come into your zone. I also have lower mobility and so I focus on my glassing and on my marksmanship. Being patient and focusing on one area is a solid strategy for anyone
My trick is to identify chickens as deer.
Such a jerry thing to say
Do these tactics work for California mule deer?
Hey Joshua! Most likely those tips would work for California depending on the area. But a lot of it would still work just fine. Might need to modify it some based off elevation, desert conditions, etc.
Thanks for the feed back! I’ll take these tips into consideration.
Can you shed some light on what you mean by biology reports?
$4.95 a gallon of gas isn't giving me the warm and fuzzes about getting out this year. 🤬
Lol it'll be $6+ before fall.
@@maximustheconfessor72 maybe closer to $7 at the rate we're going
thanks Biden
@KaliDog101 It was all planned. Biden doesn't even matter. They're trying to destroy the economy before the mid terms so it's irrepairable. Both sides are in on it.
The only tip you need is boots on the ground, and good glass. The rest of what these sites tell you is meant to get you to spend your hard earned money when you can do it all yourself…….
I agree nobody wants to put in the hard work anymore they want it given to them
Simple answer = glass glass glass everything
You need a better microphone.
