I switched to public mobile from Roger’s and I have no regrets. Never had an issue. The only downfall is they don’t support smartwatches.
Can the smart watch be with a different provider and still connect to a public mobile phone?
I love Public, Lucky, and Telus. I always go with them unless I am upgrading my phone, which I don't really do so often nowadays.
Honest speaking, the big 3 still owns the majority of the providers in Canada.
I'm getting my first plan tomorrow. Weighed all the options and public is hands down the best. It even runs off Telus towers
Prices have gone down a lot in Canada for mobile plans which is AMAZING news!
Thanks for the info.
Thank you So Much😍
You're welcome 😊
Public mobile is great. Thx for the video!😃
Same for me ... I've switch a while ago... I just can't justify paying more than that... Cell phone prices were one of the big shocks of Canada coming from Europe (with Bank fees, car insurance, day care, ...). So overall we might pay less taxes here; but we just give more money to private companies ... :(
Yeah, I was surprised at how much data here costs, unbelievable! At first I was worried that I couldn't get by with so little data, but I've adjusted to it (it helps that I'm self-employed and thus have more flexibility to manage my cell phone usage!). My wallet is grateful for that! :)
Been with PM for 1 year & so far no issues. Telus network in MB works good both in both city & rural areas. I'm on a 50GB Can/USA plan for $34. Way more than I need as I only use less than 6 GB/ month. I keep upgrading my plan online at the same price when there's a better offer as I'm not locked in. Points are awesome. No customer service but I haven't needed any so far. Website is fairly easy to use. I haven't tried their mobile app yet.
My husband and I will arrive to Canada on April and I was considering PM as our cellphone plan carrier. They offer pre-paid plans and I think that's what confuses a lot of people, but in Latin America (where we are from) we use mainly that type of plans, therefore I'm used to that strategy and their prices are better suited for starting over in a new country. Thank you for talking about your experience 😊
If you're data requirement is not high, and you just need a very simple basic plan, then Public Mobile actually works. And using pre-paid plans is actually a good strategy to save money because you won't go over your set limit!
What if you are stuck somewhere and you don't have any more data? Like an emergency situation. 😢
You can purchase additional data
same moved to public mobile
What do you think about public mobile vs freedom mobile vs kudoo (I am currently with Telus and considering switching)?
Also, what's your referral link for public mobile doesn't seem to work. Would you be able to pls post an updated link/referral code?
I didn’t know about Public..I will give it a try..their 5G option is very affordable
Hope it works for you! It's the second provider after Koodo I've tried out so far, and will keep searching for the best plans
I will recommend public mobile, good service for a good price. Other providers are more expensive
Interesting to hear that you had a good experience with them as well!
Freedom exists yk
I watch your maximum video clips specially for transportation using presto. Your all videos are awesome. Firstly I was confused why you have not much viewers I spite of so informative video clips, then came to know you have just moved to Canada 2 years ago.
I am pretty sure and wish that after a few years, you will have millions of viewers. When you touch at least 100 k then you may reply me. I hope you will get soon. You have covered so many fields to make videos. You are an awesome person.
Regards,
Inder
Thank you, glad to hear that! I actually moved to Canada a bit over 5 years ago, but I only started working intensively on this channel for the past 2 years. I see potential for growth and am happy about each new subscriber, so welcome!
I just sign up PM 2weeks ago, I noticed that I cannot send or received text messages from other phone like Samsung or whatsoever… is it normal iPhone to iPhone only? I hope you notice me here… thanks a lot and more power to your channel ❤
I never tested it, but I'm very sure you should be able to send text messages to other phones (through regular text messaging, not i messaging). You can ask/search in the community section, someone will surely help you out!
Public Mobile is very awesome. Only thing I don’t like is they don’t have a call centre everything based online through the community but other than that they run off of Telus 5G network where I live we have 5G as well as 4G LTE the plans are very nice and affordable for people. I’m currently on the 34 50unlimited Canada.
Thanks for the video. Honestly speaking, there are better options out there where you can get a lot more with prepaid service. Example, freedom mobile offers unlimited talk/text and 30GB of data for 149/yr(average less than $15 per month) basically 2.5GB per month or the same plan with 15GB data for 119.00 per year. I am not a freedom sales person but sharing public information.
I will need to check that out as well then! Luckily in Canada it's really easy to switch providers.
No such Freedom mobile plan exists?
@@recca9800sure does, check their website, under prepaid
Freedom mobile has a prepaid plan for $129 / year. Unlimited calling and texting. No data included, but there is free included wifi hotspots thousands of them.
I had public mobile and I didn’t like it, it might save you money but the network or coverage area is not the greatest. I go to all different areas, big cities like Toronto to smaller cities or towns and public mobile works good in the GTA but in smaller towns not so good to almost no service and I’d be in Costco and no service in there as well. I’m not a fan of Bell because it’s the same problem with them, so I ended choosing Fido which is through Roger’s and I’ve had no problems with them unless network goes down which hasn’t happened too many times, I’m happy with them.
It is really a no frills service, I’m curious trying out Fido as well one day
BTW some useful info; Public Mobile does not work from Mexico ...
I spend some time every year and just use a Mexican SIM card but if you need to receive text for 2FA from your bank or the gov; it is a big problem... this won't work while you are in Mexico.
Yeap, that's right, I recently traveled to Turkey and got an E-sim card as well. Good point.
I'm in the process of switching from Public Mobile to Fizz, PM has decided to remove their old rewards program and it's just not worth being with them anymore. Fizz look ok, PC mobile is another option too.
Kicking myself for not getting the Fido black Friday deal
Does it cost money to transfer your number to a new provider?
No fee for using your old number…
The US/Canada plan just dropped to $34/month 50gb data!!!
I have used the US/Canada plan in the States under T-mobile and it has worked great for me!!!
HUGE savings
Sounds like a great deal, never heard of it before though.
Is this plan good for to and from both Canada/US or just in Canada only?
@@AndyCam-cw7kx you can use your phone as you normally would when you are in Canada or in the US and vise versa without paying the roaming fees.
@@ariannemast2258 Thank you
Bell and Telus share infrastructure and have the same Canada Coverage. I was surprised Rogers, BCE and Telus can now cover USA and Mexico basically for free if you're on their Retiree Phone plan... $90/mth for 55+. I opted to get a new-ish phone = 2 year until I own it... S21 at $5/mth. Hoping we'll see 5G data plans that offer unlimited DATA??? cut the cord... only in USA... ;(
Interesting!
I just love your voice, is that weird? Thanks for the content.
Few people have mentioned that so far, but it's good to know that my voice is not too bad after all! Thank you!
Your referral code isn’t working
Some others brought that up too, but it seems it's a problem on their website, as several people were able to use the link. Hope it works the next time you try!
Smart😊 and cute!🖤🤍
The referral link doesn't work for me. I get an Error 404
It doesn’t work for me either
It is a 304 error actually.
Sorry guys, there seemed to be some glitch on Public Mobile's website. It should work now.
@@LivinginCanada You could just leave your referral code in the description instead of the link (or people can find the code in the video on their own). The link seems still not working.
Thus just their promotional price. Once they become prominent, they charge more.
Really?
The old system was way better..... I too use the $15 plan, and before points I got 1 dollar off for every year with them(was with them four year), $2 off for auto pay. So plan was $9/month, and I didn't have to sign into there website to redeem these stupid points.
Freedom mobile is better (500Mb for the cheapest plan)
The old reward system will be terminated and all user will be forced to accept the new public points system Starting may 2024 so zero bill is not possible anymore and the new reward system is far more worse than the old system
Public mobile sucks. It is supposed to encourage competition in the wireless sector as per the federal government.. Unfortunately, it is operated by Telus and only a small list of phones can get into their 5G network. Yes, only the phones supported by Telus and they want you to buy those overpriced slower phones like Samsung, iPhone or Google pixel. This kind of BS only happens in Canada and I don't see that in Europe or Asia. I keep hearing Canadians tell me how great their Samsung and iPhones are. But wait, they never used another phone. That is how sad Canada is. Reminds me of living in North Korea where the government tells them how great being a citizen of the coutry.
yo what the heck, u actually lived in North Korea, u monster
@@kwt8874 WTF?
No offence, but like most CZcamsrs, all your videos are becoming sponsored just to get us to sign up and promote their services.
This video wasn’t sponsored by public mobile (for videos that are product/service sponsored I always declare it/disclose by thanking the sponsor or mentioning it in some other way). For public mobile both I and the person signing up receive a small commission.
@@LivinginCanada I pay over $900 annually for my cellphone bill and I'm not sure if it is the right thing to switch. Like if you don't have any more data, you are not connected to the internet to purchase more data. 🥲
Agreed
Im not sure Public Mobile has the budget to sponsor youtubers lol
Haha, smart observation! I don't think it's their business model. They just work on a commission basis: get a referral-then content creator and new subscriber get a few bucks :)
I am really sorry i use to love your videos but nowdays your video are just being thumbnail scammed and full of useless information to be honest
I put effort to make my thumbnails intriguing and appealing while still delivering on the content. I made this video because I actually benefited from switching to another provider and actually saved about $40/month which is significant to me. And it's also true that public mobile has a system that allows you to reduce your bill from e.g. $15/month to $0 by referring friends and helping out in the community by answering question. So I do not accept your groundless accusation. Regarding the video being useless to you, no offense taken, not every video is useful to everyone. But from the likes on this video it seemed to be useful content to quite a lot of people.
@LivinginCanada you thumbnail says $0 phone bill is that really the case ?
Please don't make videos like this anymore.
It's your channel, your choices, but in my opinion it wasn't that good this time.
All respect.
Her videos are getting useless everytime she post
@kanavsahi5927 @Alaa-Deen Sorry to hear this video wasn't a fit for you! Some videos help some people, while they are useless to others, sure. Would love to know which of my videos in the past you actually liked!
