Every since I can remember, I have always had a desire to help people. Whether that was my time as a youth pastor and even now; in my everyday life. I enjoy shooting videos to create memories for not only myself; but for my kids and their kids to be able to look back and reflect on the memories that we built.
I also have a desire to help others. Whether that's through motivation or encouragement. I enjoy sharing my experiences with you. I would like to see and hear about you stepping out and reaching your goals and dreams.
My focus isn't becoming the next big #youtuber.... but if it happens, then it happens.
My primary goal is to create memories with my family and encourage you if I can by what I'm doing.

I came to a point in my life to where I need solo camping and there's nothing to be afraid of when you realize you're the scariest thing in any woods ❤ chock full of nuts is excellent camp coffee too by the way
I will definitely look into that coffee. Im heading out thursday for another getaway. Taking all my gear to shoot another vid.. thanks for the co.ment.
What I like about this camping trip is you brought your AR with you. The first thing that I noticed. Safety first baby. I also brought my rifle and my G-19 with me all the time.
That’s AWESOME man. Thanks for watching and commenting. Absolutely right about safety 1st.
dude I instantly subscribed. your so much better then native nomads. you actually show the car, scenery, and what your doing more than your face. unfortunately with that channel he loves showing his face more than the actual car. love the video man definitely a fan!
Thank you so much. I appreciate your comment. It was very nice of you to say that. Have a great day.
I did a camp in the middle of a Scottish forest all by myself in my Rooftent on top of my Subaru outback and I loved the solitude but then again I’m used to being a lone wolf 😉
As for showers, if I can in a location I will use a Kelly kettle to boil water for a collapsible bucket and I have a rechargeable shower called colapz that fits in a small bag. If not some wet wipes.
Enjoy the camp, enjoy the alone time ;)
Agreed. Being this was my first time, i admittedly was nervous, but it was definitely enjoyable and peaceful being there alone.
The planet is much more enjoyable when you’re not watching it on a screen. Thx for the video.
I admit, i am inspired when i watch the channels I watch. Theres alot of work behind the scenes when youre the one creating. But i enjoy connecting with people and hopefully inspire others to follow their dreams. Thanks for watching!
He had that AR ready to go😅
Hi from UK just found your channel nice build just got a sub 👍
Wow, Shane, i appreciate that! Thank you for your support. I will do my best to get more videos up.
Now I want to take a camping trip😂.
You should..
Dont let your own mind steer you around. Enjoy the solitude, the peace. The woods is our original home.
Refreshing for a guy to share he's a little scared.
Thank you Holly!
As a new subscriber glad to find your channel. This is very well shot for your first time out solo with a new setup. All the best with next adventures. Lovely to share with your family.
You did well my freind. Cheers!
Thanks brother. I appreciate it!
Enjoy your car camping. I just started a year ago myself. Love the peace and quiet it brings.
Great video .. thanks for frankness on 1st solo camping .. I'm new into car camping & looking forward to get a Subaru outback wilderness next yr .. post more of your adventure & will be following 😂
Very kind comment. Thank you!
Great video. Love the car the tent and the 2A cameo appearance
Thank you, Chris. I appreciate it!
Nice video. Just got a Forester Wilderness. I’m in Florida so no camping till late December. Very hard to find a decent spot here in winter due to snowbirds. Still contemplating the the rooftop tent idea.
Congratulations on your new ride. I love these vehicles. Yeah, in Arizona we definitely have to wait until it cools down. Fortunately we have high country so it tends to cool down faster than the Phx area. Let me know if you end up getting a rooftop.
Very nice tent setup. Enjoy
Thanks brother!
I live in Indiana and I’m pretty sure that Costco had your exact set up in their store this Summer. Car and rooftop tent. I had envy every time I left the store. Love your videos. Keep on keepin on! 👍
Your encouragement means alot Tom. Thank you so much for watching. Your support is valued as you are. Thx

I would say for a novice you did pretty darn good. Great video.
Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate it.
I have a new Outback Wilderness and love it. Your initial foray into the “Wilderness “ gives me impetus to try it myself. I hope you and your family enjoy many years of fun with your Outback Wilderness.
@Robert Gregory Thank you. I wish i had more time to do it. My work schedule is crazy right now. Hopefully by July i can create more videos. Let me know about your upgrades on your Wilderness. If i can assist with any questions, I'll do what i can to help.
@@TheEpicUnknown.. Thanks John. Good luck in your future endeavors.
I just went on my 1st solo car camping in Tahoe National Forest. 2021 Outback. I slept inside my car. Enjoy it.
Thats AWESOME. Beautiful scenery im sure.
Awesome Video! I have a very similar setup!
Very cool, man. Thanks for watching! Happy New Year.
Nice video! Can I know which cross bar you put it on?
Absolutely. Thule cross bars purchased from the dealership specific for carrying the weight of a rooftop tent.
What crossbars are you using to mount your IKamper? I have a outback wilderness and debating installing a Prinsu rack or getting a slim pair of crossbars, yours seem pretty slick and don’t have the tent sitting too high off the rails
Hey Lenny. My crossbars are by thule. I actually got them from the subaru dealership.
If you’re a shower guy ( I am ) you should look into building PVC tube rooftop shower. I have the same car, same color and was thinking about giving solo camping a shot. Nice video!!
nice video! I've got an OBW reserved, but waiting for the SOS button recall to get fixed. I haven't ever camped, so this was a great video to get some ideas for what to do. How much ground clearance do you have with the lift-kit and new tires? Any concern about voiding your warranty?
So its a 2"spacer lift. I havent physically measured to see how much higher it is with both new tires and the lift. But it is noticable. As far as i have heard, the warranty is still good.
Thank you for your comment. If there is anything else i can assist you with, ill help if possible.
Any driveline vibration from the lift? I am wanting to lift my 22’ OBW as well.
Actually no. I have not noticed any vibrations. We have been on a few long trips and it still drives like a champ.
I love solo camping, 3 weeks ago I went from Chicago to SD. Mt. Rushmore, Sturgis, Badlands. Love BLM lands
Thats awesome. Im a very social person and enjoy other peoples company. Although i enjoyed this solo, i think id enjoy it much more with my wife and kids or friends.
Absolutely loved the video! Subbed. Hoping we could use our OBW for what it’s built for. Thanks for the motivation!
Aww thats AWESOME! Thank you for the motivation. I really appreciate it!
Also sub'd your channel.
@@TheEpicUnknown.. thanks a bunch!!
Great video, do you mind sharing the location of that camping spot.
Hey dude. It was up near Hawley Lake along the White River. When headed towards Hawley Lake, youll cross a bridge that crosses White River. I just followed it to the right and found this spot. Let me know if you go.... If you invite me 😉 maybe ill tag along.
Deal.
Hey, John did you install the IKamper mini in stock crossbar? I have subaru outback touring XT 2020. Plan to purchase the IKamper mini .
Good morning, Johnathan. I purchased the thule crossbars from the subaru dealership that were specific to carrying the weight of the rooftop tent. Hope that helps you out.
@@TheEpicUnknown.. what Thule model is it?
@@jonathanpaler3411 So im currently at the dealership for service. The parts center stated its the Thule Crossbar set - Aero Extended Black. Part number SOA567X070

New subscriber here. Love your set-up, how high of a lift did you out on your Wilderness? My wife hates camping so I'm usually doing it solo 😂
Im in the same boat. My wife isnt a camper. But she has recently expressed interest in it. So i have some hope. I installed a 2" spacer lift. I have a video on it if you want to check it out.
czcams.com/video/JfhNZho1FJY/video.html
Thank you for the follow.
Great video, what’s your lift and tire setup?
Thank you Manuel. I really appreciate it. I installed a 2"spacer kit i purchased from LPAventure and my tires are 245 65r17 toyo open country A/T 3's.
Nice video bro ..look fun out there ..what’s size your tire ?
Hey Kom thank you. 245/65r17
Next time take me with you.....
It is definitely a great experience to get out of the desert environment and get up into the woods right next to a river..
It sucks when the family doesn’t want to spend time out in the wilderness. My family did for a while and now not so much.
Definitely. Would like to make great momories, but maybe ill have to negotiate.
Nice choice for protection.👍
Lol. Always my friend.
Nice video! Was that a rifle?
Thank you Blasquez! I appreciate your kindness. Yes sir. I did have my rifle with me. Being that I was traveling alone and unfamiliar with the area, I felt having it brought me a little more comfort having protection.
@@TheEpicUnknown.. I hear you, I don’t own one but I’ve thinking about getting one for home protection.
@Blasquez Adventures I think that would be a good investment. Id rather have protection and not need it, than not have protection and need it...
@@TheEpicUnknown.. agreed
Thanks for the video. I have a ‘22 OBW myself and am looking to make it my overland vehicle. What size lift did you go up to? Did you keep the same tires or upgrade? If you upgraded, what size did you go with, how’s the ride and any loss in mpg? Thanks!
Hey Matthew, thanks for the comment. As far as lifts, I installed a 2" spacer lift from LP Aventure (Canadian Company). Ill get back with you on the tires, im heading to work with a carpool buddy. But i did reolace them with Toyo Open Country tires. The ride quality feels really good but it did get just a bit noisy. MPG'S, I havent ran the numbers but i think i did lose a little bit on that. It still drives really good and handles great. The lift gave it a little more aggressive look in my opinion.
Hey Matthew, the tire size is 235/65r17... I think you can fit 245's on... I may try in the future.
Nice
Thank you Zeph!
Hey, John. First-time visitor, but liked and subscribed. Just bought a 2022 Forester Premium and am looking forward to some carcamping and some nice, long trips with my wife in the new car. Question: Did you lower the PSI in your tires when you started hitting the dirt trail? I know some folks do that for added comfort and traction, then fill their tires before the hit the highway with an electric pump.
Regarding showers, I'd pretty much do what you did. But, there are these 5-gallon foldable water containers to which you attach a shower hose, and you can hang these up from a tree branch or from your vehicle if it has something that stands higher than yourself to attach it to, and use this as a shower. Water may be VERY cold, so some people may heat some water on their stove to mix in with the cold water to make it warm. REI also has a pair of cool little shower units that are inexpensive, too: www.rei.com/product/199737/reliance-flow-pro-portable-shower-2-gal &. www.rei.com/product/758045/sea-to-summit-pocket-shower
Good morning Sean. Thank you so much for liking and subscribing. I appreciate that. Yes, i did deflate my tires for a more comfortable ride. I believe it also increases traction. There was a noticable difference in the comfort and less spining of my tires doing certain obstacles. Regarding the showers, i have also seen some cool water heaters that heat the water as you shower. Most people i see using that are fulltime youtubers and live on the road. Maybe someday i will get to that point... but i could say with certainty that my wife would be more apt to camping if we had that lol.. Thanks again Sean!
BTW. Congrats on your new ride. These vehicles are very capable.
