Can you get Dillon to do a review of regular eagle rare ;-)

I"m having some troubles following the review/scoring system. With the old one it was pretty easy to follow. It felt like the bonus point balanced out the availability/price of a whiskey. You also had it presented out step by step how you got there in the review, I could track it more easily. I could see "oh this offering is close in score to a more rare/expensive whiskey because of the bonus point" but, I could then infer that it was actually a bigger difference between the two(after subtracting the bonus point). Of a quick glance in the new system it looks like "value" is only up to.5? meaning rare whiskeys should be much higher of a score than the previous system of scoring.
Here is why I'm confused (if you care). The review model is this:
    1. Start with the good, bad, and really bad.
    2. Quickly show the 10 categories of how you rate whiskey
    3. Present the score.
I miss the actually meat of a review, which is usually done with, nose, pallet, and finish( or now the 10 categories). I don't get the pie chart broken down step by step. Without this data it'a hard to discern why you would pay $200 for a 7.8 bourbon or how you really got to the score you present. More time is spent in the macro of the whiskey, then the micro. I would recommend when you use the good, bad, and really bad to pick the categories it excels in. You would do the 1st segment but the format would be picking the 2 or maybe 3 categories that it was highest(or worst) in, and talking about why it did that so well, then repeat that for the other 2( bad and really bad). At the end you then present the final scores each person gave it. It would make following along much easier, and as a viewer I could track what makes this whiskey different or special. I would have a better idea of how you feel about, while maintaining the suspense till the end when the score is presented.
    Cheers!

The old way was easier to follow. We don't see the breakdown of the 10 categories so I am sometimes confused how to got to your score. However, ER17 is a good dram so I get that a score of 80ish is fair. 71 is wild lol.

Honestly the old format was perfect. Especially the haggling/calibration part; that was half the fun of the episodes.

Your old format and scoring system surpasses this one by a fair amount.

Thank you for including the "What would you pay" section. Since you can't judge value based on MSRP for these unicorns. It's nice to hear a realistic secondary value. Don't be afraid to go below MSRP if it is garbage. A request: Can you please do a video where Dillon blind tastes various pours at different Proof's. Let's see if he really is the proof snob. Can you get him to prefer a nice bourbon at a lower proof over a lesser one at a higher proof? Also, how about every once in a while you update us with a summary of scores you've given to bottles?

Dillan is getting so cranky in his old age. I watched the bourbon guild video on 2017 eagle rare 17 (at 90 proof) he loved it and gave it 9/10

They raise the proof to 101 in commemoration of an anniversary of a special release of eagle rare from back in the 60s or 70s or something that was 101 proof

What’s the point for Buffalo Trace to announce how much evaporation there was and how many bottles they produced? Solely to drive the hysteria over the brand without pumping out a ton of marketing dollars.

Glad you guys are semi-back! Bold move on changing the rating system, I think it is a bit too complex, though. But who knows, maybe it'll grow on me. Only criticism: y'all should've kept the old name, it was perfect.

Agree with Dillon, I also shy away from Eagle Rare 10yo, I’ve had more bad batches than good batches & at that price I’d rather have Rare Breed or Russels Reserve, at least I’m guaranteed an awesome pour. Also think your score truly represent the offering, well done!

Dutch and Jules during pre-show warm-up:
Dutch - "Jules, I know you're bright, funny, expressive and not as handsome as me, but your flavor descriptives like 'flavor town' and 'cola' are - how do I say this - very low brow for a classy-ass show like mine - uh - ours..."
Jules - "Okay Mister Supercuts, I will NOT describe today's imbibement as neither. Maybe words like 'nuance' might fill the bill. BUT - YOU must perform a favor in return or we have NO agreement, my weak-wristed pouring-fail emoji. You must diss the poster boy of arrogance into such shame, that his scrotum retracts into his earlobes. Deal?"
Dutch - "Deal. Uh, don't mind the hand mirror - I'm just readjusting my pirate hat and pompadour."
Dillon - "I mean when I talked to him, I said, 'Can you please raise the proof? That these are very very weak. Do you think you could raise - you know, bump it up a notch?' Do you think he uh, actually answered the call?"
Dutch - "No. I don't think he remembers you at all actually."
Jules - Chuckles as giant thought bubble appears above his head - "ZING! WOW - did I just see Dillon's earlobes explode?!"

The really good barrels are getting special bottlings, special releases... all overhyped, and all becoming way over priced... These youtube channels have unequivocally made a scarcity in bottles of good juice that would otherwise be on the shelf for those that enjoy the flavors, and not relegated to some stash in a mancave for bragging rights... Seems to me, even some special bottlings as of late are really sub par, of both bourbons and ryes..
