After reading some of the top comments I'm intrigued to see nobody mentioned nailmasters glory I find it really strong in the spell based builds and is really useful against bosses that don't give you a lot of time to strike like soul master and the great nailsage.
Fair, but I think that Shaman stone is really only useful for spell builds, and I for my list I would put Mark of Pride in first, as it can make boss fights easier, help get soul from farther away, and overall is helpful in most builds.

Once you get good enough at the game and don't take damage as often spell twister Is stronger, but till then you are better off eith soul😊 catcher
@@tyronepalma3854true I do use it for early game builds quite often but for when I did all bosses radiant and used spell builds,(especially for markoth) I ended up just using soul eater

Steady body I'd put at number 4 and bumping mark of pride to 5. One notch for at least an additional attack's worth of dps is really good since no knockback gives you more time to react to an attack rather than having to reposition yourself every time.
Great list! Fun to see charm ranking videos to examine the type of playstyles that different players have lol, heres mine 1. Shaman Stone 2. Quick Slash 3. Steady Body 4. Mark of Pride 5. Spell Twister
If youre good at dodging and theres no time to heal i suggest the spell twister it has 2 charms and it lowers the soul cost of spells also flukenest is good too especially for big enemies like failed champion
Steady body should be an honorable mention, alone it isn't good, but with quick slash you are basically going from a small pistol to a freaking Kalashnikov
i agree with 4 of the charms (soul catcher increases soul only a tiny bit so i dont see it used a lot) i would also swap strength with shaman stone cause in teh short you made a mistake saying it increases all spells' size when in reality the only spell that gets a size increase is vengeful spirit/shade soul, abyss shriek and d dark get only more damage
just equip wayward compass, it makes it so you one shot anything, can teleport anywhere, have infinite geo, have a live map of hallownest showing exactly what's happening in every room at the moment, you can spawn benches out of thin air, have infinite masks and soul. and overall just a really good charm.
For a spell/soul build Soul eater is better than soul catcher But for the same amount of notches soul twister will do wonders and is much better than soul catcher
as a melee player, i prefeer quick focus over shaman stone, its surprising how many heals you can sneak in between enemy attacks with the shorer duration
Honestly I really like sharp shadow because you can do damage to enemies while shade dashing through them and allows you to move faster. Also flukenest because it’s broken.
Fun fact, soul twister is actually just... better in like every way, i cant say the exact maths here but all catcher does is give +3 extra souk a hit, twister lets you cast four souls just for your main soul holder, it's actually much better!
a bit of a complaint with number 5, since the amount of extra soul which soul gives negligible when compared to spell twister, which 'Reduces' spell costs, instead of increasing soul gain its basically the same thing, but spell twister is straight up a more efficient version

quick slash + unbreakable strength + maybe long nail or mark of pride are very good and useful too. i did something very similar against failed champion
Mark of pride is like the wayward compass, I grew out of it. It’s a good charm but only for certain bosses. Using a short nail with higher damage is better than a long one that does less damage. And I personally prefer spell twister over soul catcher but but only in boss fights. In casual use soul catcher is better. I think in the ranking you should bump mark of pride out and move everything up to make room for either grubs song or unbreakable heart
I would change soul catcher for spell twister It doesn't lower the soul needed for focus, but with a full gauge (Including the soul vessels) YOU CAN DO 8 SPELLS
Tbh I would replace soul catcher with steady body and put it at #3. Criminally underrated charm that, when paired with quick slash, absolutely shreds just about every boss in the game. Unfortunately not many people give it a chance because on paper it sounds like a mid charm, but this charm lets you demolish literally every boss in the game with ease, especially dream bosses and bosses that take knock back (like hive knight)
I would probably put dream wielded as 5, steady body as 4, and keep the last three. Being one notch on both allows them to fit in easily, and once u get used to dreamnailing mid combat, if seriously feels like infinite soul. Besides making aerial combat POSSIBLE, steady body allows u to constantly stay close to enemies and really increases your dps when paired with quick slash.
The only reason you would use soul catcher is when you don't have other charms to put, the extra should you get from it is almost unnoticeable and if you want something to pair with shaman stone use soul eater or spell twister, both being better than the souls catcher.
Soul catcher only gets +3 soul per hit on main soul vessel and +2 for reserve, spell twister on the other hand lets you use a spell 4 times instead of 3
I personally like soul eater more one its can actually be obtained with wall jump dash and dive and its actually better mathmatically because it gives 19 for four notches instead of 14 for two but soul catcher is a solid A tier charm and shaman stone is the best because of how early and cheap it can be obtained.
Yeah, I agree with this. Maybe not soul catcher, but I do use it a lot, especially early game, or even in pantheon/colosseum runs when I want to use that and grubsong over a single three slot charm. My number 1 is unbreakable strength, because I essentially never take it off. Number two would probably be shaman stone, or Number three, quickslash(and you said it just right. Once you try quickslash you just get addicted to it, especially when combined with long nail, which I also love, particularly for colosseum, and some pantheon runs Number 4 would probably be unbreakable heart(mostly because I such and always need as much health as I can get.) And number 5 is tough. Part of me wants to say Mark of Pride, another part wants me to say grubsong(which admittedly isn't as good, but again, for someone like me who isn't a God Gamer, Grubsong is pretty much the only correct answer for what to do when you have a spare notch, especially in instances where you have no soul, get hit, the soul vessel turns white, and you can get of a quick DD.) I know I'm missing something, but I don't feel like looking through all the charms right now. My favorite "walking around" setup at near endgame is Unbreakable Strength, Long Nail, Mark of Pride, Quickslash, and sometimes another charm if I feel like overcharming(including simple things like Dashmaster, which just makes moving around so much quicker, and is another one of those charms that once you turn it off, it sucks to turn off.)
Strength and Shaman stone is very strong. Strength is weak early in the game since you don't have enough resources to get pure nail. So, shaman stone will generally better than strength. But once you got pure nail, strength charm will raise your damage to the next level. Pair up with quick nail, and steady body ( which is the infamous Nail build). You will notice the DPS change is crazy. In some cases, shaman stone is still better than nail build especially when the enemy is hard to hit with nail attack ( like uumuu, markoth or no eyes). And to be fair, to enjoy max potential for nail build you will need at least 7 notches. While spell build you only need Shaman stone and lv2 spell and that's it.
Soul catcher only gives you 2 or 3 soul and you need 33 to use any spell There is a reason this is one of the first charms you get in the game For 2 notches I would definitely use something like unbreakable health , quick focus or most 1 notch charms like the nailmaster charm

Ok ok, ain’t no way you said soul catcher is better then spell twister!
Believe me, I've gotten this same comment over 100 times already 😂
Soul catcher is fact one of the best
I would probably put dream wielded as 5, steady body as 4, and keep the last three. Being one notch on both allows them to fit in easily, and once u get used to dreamnailing mid combat, if seriously feels like infinite soul. Besides making aerial combat POSSIBLE, steady body allows u to constantly stay close to enemies and really increases your dps when paired with quick slash.
I actually love sharp shadows
Defenders crest is amzing
The only reason you would use soul catcher is when you don't have other charms to put, the extra should you get from it is almost unnoticeable and if you want something to pair with shaman stone use soul eater or spell twister, both being better than the souls catcher.
Spell twister is better than soul catcher, and there is no debate, it literally is (also fragile strength deals the more dps than shaman).
I am yet to see a player beat the game without using voidheart
Soul catcher only gets +3 soul per hit on main soul vessel and +2 for reserve, spell twister on the other hand lets you use a spell 4 times instead of 3
I thought it was a joke when I saw Soul Catcher since it's affect is so small for it's price but then he started listing actually good charms
"i dont use that much charms"
bros charms:
In my opinion spell twister is better than soul catcher because when you have full soul, you can cast 4 spells instead of 3
I agree, but I still go no where without gathering swarm.
Sharp shadow not being on here is a violation
I personally like soul eater more one its can actually be obtained with wall jump dash and dive and its actually better mathmatically because it gives 19 for four notches instead of 14 for two but soul catcher is a solid A tier charm and shaman stone is the best because of how early and cheap it can be obtained.
Second in my opinion is gruberfly elegy
Best combo I know: steady body quick slash mark of pride and that other nail length increaser charm
5. Mark of pride
4. Spell twister
3. Unbreakable Strength
2. Quickslash
1. Shamans stone
Yeah, I agree with this. Maybe not soul catcher, but I do use it a lot, especially early game, or even in pantheon/colosseum runs when I want to use that and grubsong over a single three slot charm.
My number 1 is unbreakable strength, because I essentially never take it off.
Number two would probably be shaman stone, or
Number three, quickslash(and you said it just right. Once you try quickslash you just get addicted to it, especially when combined with long nail, which I also love, particularly for colosseum, and some pantheon runs
Number 4 would probably be unbreakable heart(mostly because I such and always need as much health as I can get.)
And number 5 is tough. Part of me wants to say Mark of Pride, another part wants me to say grubsong(which admittedly isn't as good, but again, for someone like me who isn't a God Gamer, Grubsong is pretty much the only correct answer for what to do when you have a spare notch, especially in instances where you have no soul, get hit, the soul vessel turns white, and you can get of a quick DD.)
I know I'm missing something, but I don't feel like looking through all the charms right now.
As a impatient person I love dash master
People who think soul catcher sucks
👇
Soul catcher upgrades the amount of soul from 11 to 14... I would say it's in the bottom 5 for me.
I’d put sharp shadow up there haha. It’s by far my favorite charm.
I bullied Grey Prince Zote so bad with quick slash, love it
Honestly i really like dashmaster, good for general movement
5 Dream Wielder
4 Steady Body
3 Quick Slash
2 Shaman Stone
1 Unbreakeable Strength
Wayward Compass. I'm directionally challenged.
spell twister is kind of just flat out better then soul catcher
Soul catcher only gives you 2 or 3 soul and you need 33 to use any spell
There is a reason this is one of the first charms you get in the game
For 2 notches I would definitely use something like unbreakable health , quick focus or most 1 notch charms like the nailmaster charm
