This is the moment where Vrains clicked for me. I was haphazardly watching the show out of my love of the franchise, but this sadistic death of one of my few liked character locked me into the story and to this day the Ignis war arc of Vrains is one of my favourite plots in the franchise
This scene made me sob so hard when it first happened, I didn’t think they’d actually kill off a character…….it also made me fear what was going to happen to the other ignis and that fear was right :,)
I hate gore for doing this. He was a junkie on a power trip and had a thirst for revenge for playmaker and he was doing all kinds of stupid stuff in this arc. Even in arc 3 his voice is so dialed back and his speech is slowed because whatever they did to him was clearly in his blood because he was suffering from a relapse
they don't view the Ignis as "people" or being worthy of life, so they do this to get its data since it benefits them. since they just view it as taking the data from a machine pretending to be alive
