It is tomato plating day in the hoop house! Except it goes left and the tiller goes out on me. I try to work on it. Let's see how it goes.

"I have no idea what I am doing" - The same thing I say every time I take apart a carburetor.
"I probably shouldn't have done that" - The same thing I say in the middle of taking apart said carburetor.
"My air compressor is broke" - The same thing I say as I'm blowing through a carburetor with my mouth and tasting gasoline.
"Puts it back together and starts cranking anyways" - We know we didn't fix anything but maybe if we just crank it a little harder it'll start :)
"Gives up and calls it quit" - You go back to it 12 hours later to try again. Did it finally start?

Not sure why you took the muffler off. Those bolts are almost always prone to breaking and usually need penetrating oil and/or heat to remove them. You can salvage the broken bolts if you are lucky and the shank of the bolt still sticks out of the head enough to get a pair of vice grips on but soak those bolts in Kroil for a few days and try some heat if the bolts are still stuck. If the bolt shanks are broken off inside the head, you will have to drill them out and try extracting them with an EZ-out. If you can get the bolts and muffler back on, try checking for a good spark. If you have a good spark but difficulty starting the engine, try a shot of ether in the carb. It should start but may only run momentarily. You may have to remove the carb., disassemble and soak in carb cleaner or better yet an ultra-sonic cleaner if you have one. Reassemble and try again. You are NOT going to like what you find in the stores for rotor tillers. Most are cheap junk compared to the one you currently have. Before you spend the money on a rotor tiller, take a look at a pto tiller to put on the back of that tractor. It will make tilling soooooooooooo much easier. That is what I use on our garden to get the soil prepped. The wife puts the rows about 3 ft. apart, so I can run our roto-tiller between the rows to keep the weeds down. I have had our Ardisam Earth Quake rear tine tiller since the late 1990's and she ran last year. I am doing the same thing as you getting it ready for the garden. The best garden tiller out there bar none in my opinion is the BCS line of garden tillers, especially the diesel powered models if you can find one. They are NOT cheap but will last many lifetimes can be outfitted with many attachments. For some great ideas on how to fix your tiller, try watching or contacting James Condon czcams.com/video/Pb3IdEt-Jlg/video.html Good luck! Hope you are able to fix it!
