Blues is what they say, "Easy to play, difficult to feel." Very great lesson!
yes! exactly!
Easy to play? Alright Imma throw my guitar away 😂😂
NO THEORY ON FEELZ OK
Wdym difficult to feel?
Yoh have to feel it! I love playing on my tele
I will be able to do this one day... one day
Voicings and intervals m8.
It ain't to bad
Seeing you makes me feel 10 years younger when I used to watch your every video on and on. you know, the times when youtube was lagging viewcount after initial 305 views or smth. anyways, love you dude!
It's pretty clear when you look at Marty during the intro that he is focused on playing the melodic ideas that come to his head and not just relying on overplayed licks or muscle memory.
This is, I believe, the most important skill a guitar player can learn - how to play what you hear in your head.
I've been trying to figure how to learn that to no avail so far. Would love a lesson on this topic!
As a new subscriber, I must say I am truly impressed by your teaching style. I've been playing for decades but just started teaching my nephew to play and i can show him the what but can't explain the how. So thanks for filling the gap.
Everybody knows the blues but few can slow down enough when they play to feel it. Growing up in Chicago was a great place to hear and learn the real stuff.
This video made me pick up my guitar after 10 years of collecting dust, thanks mate!
Nifty little slide lick at 0:32 I’m going to have to steal that :)
for me its the other way round, easy to feel
I am impressed with your teaching. Very slow and clear, so anyone can Play it. For songs, I always look if you did the lesson of it.
First lick is very Hendrix like. Start of Hey Joe. Keep on rockin, being both big Pearl jam fans.....
Justin Furstenfeld - Define the Trail!!
That 100 mile an hour minor pentatonic intro sets the mood . Love you Marty !

Hey Marty, thank you for the E Blues Transition lick guitar lesson. Really appreciate it!!
Thanks for the help Marty!
Thanks, very helpful, as always!
I try to learn something new on guitar everyday to just keep me motivated and determined and your videos are so well done, thank you so much for the videos!
That was a valuable lesson Marty as usual, there is of course several other licks that you can get if you’re trying to improve your Blues playing. Keep in mind that feeling means a great deal on this genre and a good tip if you’re playing a Major Blues is trying to mix both Minor and Major pentatonic scales! Have a great week everyone!
I love these kinds of videos Marty!
Great lesson as always thanks marty
Those octaves are sounding sweet!
Grande Marty! I tuoi video sono sempre interessanti.
I don't know how much I learn new, been playing 22 years, but hot damn I still love your vids! Favorite guitar channel.

Awesome lesson! I love when you make blues lessons. I've been playing about four years and over the weekend I got my first electric. I'll be using this lesson on my Strat!!!!
What kinda strat did you get? is it American made?
A Squire
Magic
Very nice!
This guitar OMG!!!!
not too early to another amazing video by the one and only marty schwartz
Great blues transition. Relatively easy too. Of course, I'll have to watch your fingers to try and grasp the fancier licks! 😀
Marty, love the riff. As far as that closed position, I would use whatever finger, because when I slide to a new position, I'm going to look to refocus my fingers anyway. Love the 335, I never knew what I was missing till I got one.
Great vid dude as always
buenisimooooooooooooooo gracias
Wow good job
Dam nice Guitar Marty. Brother you've gotten so much better
You got all the greats beat Marty just went number one in my book

Been loving the content lately, could you do Alberta by Doc Watson next? :)
Thanks Marty, I always come out of your great lessons learning from you. Also, loved the ones you did on ACDC riffs. 👍 Not sure if you can do at some point - RATT - Eat Me Alive - riff as I have near seen a good lesson on CZcams. And it is such a great rocking riff. Anyway just thanks again at helping me along my guitar journey ;-)
The OG CZcams master has done it again.
Marty, can you do a lesson on the double stop style you play at the beginning of the video? It's amazing brother, a big greeting from Chile South America.
Good video
Marty, check out The Cold Stares. I think you would dig their stuff.
🔥🔥🔥
So I've been struggling with getting scales into muscle memory and to my surprise, I just found out I knew the open scale from playing a from playing "I love rock and roll" . Effin aha moment lol
Wow ,I would have thought was key of G. Thanks
Marty - thanks for yet another great lesson. What were you using for the bass backing track during the into? Can you recommend a backing/rhythm system, for practicing or playing solo? I’ve looked at many drum machines but they all seem to require computer science degrees and hours of study to use effectively. Thanks
It would great if you could quickly show us the part you are playing on the looper. With a looper and a drum pedal I am backing-track free, but always looking for solid chord progressions and rhythms. Thanks!
Your videos have been so helpful to me . Thank you. No what about SUGAREE? please!
blues is just one of those types of music you cant just play you have to feel it
If you want to get into what note fits perfectly with what chord that's a whole world in itself to explore =P
Enjoy
Have you ever taught the solo to Sunshine Of Your Love by Cream? If not, that would be a great lesson. 😀
Hi Marty 👋
Keep up the great videos chief. Love the blues stuff. Just wondering how come you didn't unleash a strat for this srv style lesson. Still sounds ace though.x

Please play the Jack I want to know how they play it live
Please do look at little sister there’s no other tutorials on it so it would be so good if you could teach me!
Hey Marty could you do a lesson on rude mood by SRV
Very cool idea Marty, I love playing Blues in E using the open position, so much kick ass stuff you can do using open notes, only thing is bending can be a little more difficult that low down the neck but worth it for the sound =P
Quick question for you dude, what strings do you use on that Gibson?
Just a quick question I have been playing GUITAR for 3 weeks now and I dislocated my finger on my left hand earlier on today just went to play my guitar and now my hand feels weird and it isn’t moving properly it just feels wired also love your vids x
Hey Marty, I’ve only been playing for a month and a half or so and I love blues so I’ve been trying to play as much as I can but I’ve found most of the songs I like are for more experienced players, so far the only blues song I’ve been able to learn as a whole is Life By The Drop. What do you recommend I learn so that I can begin to work towards songs like Lenny or Little wing?
Please teach us soothsayer intro!
