- Visit Richmond, this ancient Yorkshire town full of quaint alleyways, local market shops and get some free outdoor exercise and amazing views climbing up and down steep cobbled streets
0.30 secs, that road is Frenchgate, if you want to see a road just like the bread advert you should go to Bargate road just a few minutes walk from here, I actually call it the Hovis Road lol..

"not much to do"?.... for a town of eight thousand people, having a theatre, a cinema, swimming pool, lots of societies, pubs, restaurants, superb artisan food producers, sporting clubs, the friendly hospitality of intelligent cultured locals, and surrounded by some of the best countryside and open spaces in England....yep, not much doing 🤔🤣
I just discovered your channel, figured I'd subscribe. I'm missing the Yorkshire Dales dearly, and the old Northern towns and villages. P.S. I have to agree with you on the level of fear out there. No masks for me outside, EVER.

Beautiful.Richmond is beautiful with it's row of olden times houses bridges parks abbeys,I have seen it first time,it's so calm serene and relaxing,as if one has come up to strange place.lovely

Me too well near anyway. Hipswell 3 miles down road. But learned to swim under arches of mercury bridge at grand old age of 11!.
BEEN THERE MANY TIMES AND Yes, ITS VERY STEEP . You captured the beauty all very well, but left out the shops and Market place and the famous York house store, which now sadly has closed down.

nice video. am looking to combine my love of taverns and castles by visiting the castle tavern, food looks great and apparently they have live bands too (my other passion). town looks lovely so will definitely looking into it now.

Yep - I am from there and mum still there. Nice to visit for the day but would never move back. Mum and dad lived in sleegill in the 60’s having moved from Durham. The walk down from sleegill (the houses opposite the castle on the other side of the river) and up to the market almost every day for shopping almost finished mum off in the days of only one car!
