Just recently, Majors appeared at a hearing where he received a court date for the charges. Despite getting canceled from a number of partnerships, his legal team says it's a BS claim and that there is clear evidence of his innocence. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!

After Depp v Heard, I learned not to rush to judgment and let things play out before forming an opinion about something; people are so quick to jump on the bandwagon and ruin someone's career with no proof at all, only speculations. I don't believe in the narrative of believing all women; instead, let us take a look at things on a case-by-case basis. let's go back to innocent until proven guilty, I say.

When I heard Amber's allegations about Depp, my first thought was 'The guy who dresses up as Captain Jack Sparrow, which is not a simple costume, and goes to hospitals to visit kids... is abusive? That doesn't quite fit.' Don't misconstrue, I am aware that many monsters in the past have dressed up in the past, but there are times when you can tell there is something off. Can't explain it, just... like a mental burr in your head.
Didn't get that with Johnny Depp at all. When he claimed she was abusing him, it made sense. As a person with Aphantasia (can't mentally picture anything) I could see that scene of Amber being abusive. Switch the people around and doesn't work for me.
In regard to Jonathon Majors, I could see him getting angry, but I cannot see him getting violent. It would be like revving an engine, but when you put it in gear, the car stalls out. But I am capable of being wrong, and I have no shame in admitting it. I am human after all.

@@ArcaneSorceror To be honest, I didn't know about Heard's allegations until the trial, but I did read that most people believed her when she came out with them; I did not know who she was; I saw Aquman and still did not know who she was. I love JD movies, but I never follow his personal life. He always was so private, so I learned a lot about him and her during the trial; I became a fan during the trial because I saw his character, his behavior tours others around him, how kind he is more than a great actor, he is a good human being. Contrary to AH, how awful she turned out to be. I was so grateful that they were cameras in the courtroom, so the MSM didn't get the chance to spin it in her favor, and even after we saw it ourselves, they still insisted on spinning it. So I use their case as an example not to jump to the conclusion. The media feed us stories so fast that they don't allow us time to digest and analyze all the facts before forming an opinion.

@@cinnamonstar808 Heya, even if someone is on drugs that doesn't mean they aren't being abused. Like Johnny Depp, people tried to excuse Amber's abuse with 'well, Johnny does drugs/alcohol' and even Amber used that excuse. If anything, drugs/alcohol can alter mental states into being more poorly equipped to handle abuse. Not saying that I think the allegations are necessarily true or false (innocent until proven guilty), but focussing so much on the drugs isn't a good argument for much in the case other than possible misunderstandings, when your comment just reads as a character attack.

I'm a little late to this video party, but more info about this has been released. 1)Major supposedly stopped to take pictures with fans after they saw him and his ex exiting the car. They apparently saw her still attacking him and he never got violent in return. They are apparently willing to testify in court. Surveillance camera also apparently caught this on video, and it was convincing enough that a warrant was put out the Ex-girl friend and she has now been arrested and charged with assault. 2)Majors claimed to have spent the night in a hotel after the violent encounter and did not return home until the morning. That has been comfirmed by the hotel to both his defense team and NYPD. 3)He didn't have his keys and was let into his apartment by the building superintendent who was with him when she was found half naked on the closet floor. He is also willing to testify in court. 4)She was with a group of 3 other people while partying at the club and all of them are willing to testify that she wasn't or at least didn't seem to be hurt while with them.

If i focus on the usage of Major's credit card, I think that's an evidence that could go either way. Either she felt close enough to him after the incident to share things together, or she's so abused any purchase need to appear on his easily accessible credit statement. And abusers could also offer gift after a particularly intense fight to brush things off.

Pictures with his bruises were submitted and the report was completed and made its way to the Manhattan DA office. Without reason, it was deactivated from the system from the District attorney, hmmm interesting

I'd be curious to see her hand pictures. Idk I've broken a finger when I was in middle school playing basketball - I remember showing my teacher and she thought it was a sprain so I went back to "playing" (It hurt a lot. But I was told that's normal.) turns out later that evening when my dad came home I showed him and we went to the hospital found out I broke my finger at school... so it wasn't a sprain. When I was in school too I tried just icing it and I did try school work, but it hurt a lot and was hard to use so I didn't do much that day after I had a swallow finger.
But I recall too the nurse admitting at the hospital said swallowing can also be a sign of a break not necessarily a sprain. But yeah personal experience while playing basket ball, I'd be curious to see her finger & I agree about see how dexterous she is with using her phone with her broken finger. Cause I'd assume it be harder/is she more so babying/not using that finger. etc

I disagree that the only reason he would have called the police is if he was trying to pull some 4D Chess move where he tricked everyone and cast himself as the victim. He could have hurt her the night before and still been scared enough when he found her passed out in the closet to call 911. Abusers can still believe themselves to be in loving relationships. Even if they repeatedly hurt their victims, they don’t necessarily want them dead, especially by something like a medical emergency or overdose.

A few things you didn't mention that to me are important 1st being that the driver of the car is willing to testify that it was the ex-girlfriend who started the altercation and Major requested for him to pull over to let him out and as he attempted to leave the vehicle the ex-girlfriend was hitting him and ripped his jacket 2nd that while ate the club she was using her right hand to pull her hair back out of her face and had no problem using her right hand to use the phone 3rd that from the time she was at the club acting as if nothing was wrong Majors had left the the home stayed at a hotel and upon returning back to the home the next morning he had to get maintenance to help him to get into the bedroom because the door was locked and that they both found the ex-girlfriend in the closet from which he called the police who on the recorded police body cam is heard coaching the ex-girlfriend to say Majors assaulted her after she told them 19+ times she didn't know what happened to her. Plus if she was the victim why did the NYPD find evidence to have the right to issue a warrant for her arrest, and before anyone mentions the Rolling Stone article not one person went on record giving their name and the people who claimed he was abusive on set were people he worked with years ago, some from when he was at Yale and even most of them wouldn't give a name. As for the ex-friends saying that they signed NDA's I call BS. Using your truth default theory there are too many red flags to say she's telling the truth the biggest being her drinking and taking sleeping pills plus the video of her in the club. This society will believe a drunk pill taking club going white female before they believe a Black man with proof of his his innocence.

I think you might have missed it but in the insider article about this case it linked to the video footage of her in the club moving her hand and walking up the stairs. Also I think your theory at the end is 1000% right and sadly it’s ingrained in society now. I have a general rule of thumb to not come to any definitive decision until I hear both sides but society today in the wake of me too and the fact so many were ignored and not believed have done a 180 to the point that the victims are right regardless of what who and the evidence. Even now I don’t think Majors would ever get back what he lost or have everyone believe he did nothing wrong. They will always use the right but wrong in this case argument of the power wealthy person using his power to silence his victim. I just wish people would view each and every case individually and hear out both sides.

I'm a black man myself: no way he calls the police in order to manipulate public perception in his favor. In fact, the only reason he would have done so was to try to remove her from his home because she wasn't leaving after being asked/told to. If you have a partner who's not leaving when you ask them to, it's a problem because most people would make some attempt to enforce it on their own. Nothing too serious, but grabbing the person's coat and handing it to them, pushing them a bit towards the door maybe, etc. Things that aren't super violent per se, but almost certainly involved physical contact. If you don't want to initiate that, and still need the person out of your home, the only other choice is to call the police because basically you're now treating this other person as a tresspasser. And this is the connumdrum: call the police, do they turn it into a DV situation or do they enforce the tresspass? Rather than physically touch her in any way himself, he has to call the police and call her a tresspasser. Of course, when the police actually do show up, they're able to determine, infer, assume, or make up whatever probable cause for any other crime and act on that instead.
If Majors wasn't careful enough about it (I assume he called 911, who then called police dispatch), the operator may have heard Majors say "my ex girlfriend won't leave, I need the police to get her out" and they may have translated and asked back "so you want us to send police over due to a domestic dispute?" and it's easy to hear that and think "yes, [because it's at home and a personal-ish issue] I need her to leave." Then the dispatch call to police is "domestic dispute at [address]" with no other details, and the police show up looking at Majors as if he's the problem and she's the victim.
So I would like to both hear the actual call he made, and the dispatch to police call were. That would tell me a LOT about the entire situation. Curiously too: if the locksmith was still there when the police arrived.
The nice thing about this case is that 1) it's being accelerated to a trial where B.S. characterizations won't have any weight and 2) there seems to be plenty of witness and observable evidence for what transpired. I think it's already getting quite clear now, but to the extent that things are still highly subjective and being characterized, it'll be fairly clear soon enough. It won't take a trial 4 years later to bring this to light.

Something I want to add about reading over other peoples conversations in text is context. When we text to each other, especially when the subject is about something that happened, we don't generally include a description of the events in the text. So we will sum up the event because who you are talking to was there, they don't need to be told it again. It 'could' be that her text of "-trying to grab your phone" could very well have been her forcefully grabbing at the phone, she simply summed it up in a nicer way than what happened.
That vehicle video evidence better be clear and convincing though, for either side of this argument.

Well, it seems like an excellent legal education from someone who appears to have a great mind for logic and for detail. I have watched one or two of these and I feel uneasy. I feel I can't quite articulate it. I am only able to say, right now, that the urge to win is somehow trumping all the other good work which has gone into this. And (probably this is a stretch) the analogy which I can offer is having to do with commentary about the genome, maybe 20 + years ago when it was a new discovery. Then it was said that the whole universe of living creatures shared such a large percentage of the same genome, maybe something like 98%, and that the dramatic differences in all our various creatures was affected by just that small 2%. I would say something like, there is so much good work and commentary here, maybe 98%, and yet, it is all affected by this compulsion to win which, in a manner, affects everything. It is work worth doing, I think, to arrive, if one can, at that mutation which is not winning.

    Evidence:
    > Jabbari's texts
    > cab footage
    > driver testimony
    > street surveillance
    > 3 witnesses that saw Majors getting out of the car with Jabbari attacking him. He took pictures with them
    > club footage
    > three witnesses that met up with Jabbari before/in the club and reported that she seemed uninjured at the time
    > the super that let Majors into the pent house that next morning
    > the locksmith that came out to unlock the bedroom door locked from inside | both the super and locksmith were with Majors when he discovered the unresponsive Jabbari on the closet floor apparently not breathing. Majors (a black man) cared enough to call the police
    > the police come out and body came evidence shows Jabbari has completely blacked out and doesn't remember the night before | the police coach her into making a false statement about her obviously uninjured neck that you can clearly see on footage | the police challenge Majors about whether the nice penthouse can really be his.
This is a beyond obvious open and shut case.
Jabbari, drunk and/or high, attacked Majors in a car at 1 in the morning because she was enraged and suspicious he was texting a woman. She scrambled for his phone and attacked him, screaming and clawing. He wrests his phone back and tells the driver to pull over. He extricates himself from her attack. Three witness are on the street and see it happen. He is still kind enough to take pictures with them, even after this traumatic ordeal.
Jabbari continues on to a club and at some point joins up with a small group. She proceeds to use Major's credit card to buy drinks for the next few hours. With a supposedly-broken finger on her right hand, she uses her right hand all night to pass things to people, handle her phone, use credit cards, hold drinks including fiddly champagne glasses. Her party does not think she's injured, she seems fine. At one point, club footage shows that she's so drunk (apparently) that she sags and smashes her head on the DJ booth.
Majors stays at a hotel (this has been confirmed) the night. He comes home the next morning without his keys, has the super open his door, and then has to call a locksmith to open his bedroom door which is locked from the inside. Once open, Majors, the super, and the locksmith see a half-naked Jabbari on the floor of the closet passed out and not appearing to breath, vomit on the bed. When awoken and spoken to, she reports mixing binge-levels of alcohol with sleeping pills. Majors calls for emergency services, then gets blackballed by the NYPD and arrested. Later, he gets texts from Jabbari which indicate that at least some of the details, especially regarding her obviously uninjured neck are false, and that she didn't want charges filed because she knew she was in the wrong with how she treated him. Later, still possessing Major's credit cards, she goes on a $7k spending spree (theft and credit card fraud), and high-tails it back to the UK to avoid charges. These are the facts of the case.
Majors is clearly innocent and is suffering under a racist and sexist attack from Jabbari and NYPD. He is getting treated exactly how Johnny Depp was treated by Amber Heard.

At the moment, it sounds like Majors has a strong case. And quite frankly, for how fast disney has dropped people, I trust their investigation team as much as any. If they havent already dropped him, it's worth going to trial.
Hoping he's innocent, but what's been released does sound like a potential abuse situation. Incidentally, this is a great example of a case that needs a jury trial

This was a good break down. I will say the Truth Default Theory definitely doesn’t apply here since the overall general position was to not believe him. This is unfortunate because it further goes against “innocent until proven guilty,” which further makes it difficult for people to have trust in the justice system. It’s good to see some neutral reactions pending the release of a decision….Also, the other alleged victims were supposedly individuals who previously worked with him not women he dated or had a romantic relationship with.
I think sometimes referencing other cases in cases like this to address behavior can become tricky, especially if the surrounding evidence isn’t similar. However, I get the reasoning for bringing up the Petito and Depp case…One thing that came out of the Petito case that could be used is how cops are not trained properly on how to question potential victims…it was noted that there were several red flags missed by cops in that case, which could have possibly saved her life…This like many other instances continued the conversation on the need to have advocates respond to these situations to assist. I feel that May be something to consider in how the cops questioned Jebarri in the case - Also how they responded when Majors tried to tell them he was abused instead.

So far, this is still a case of He Said-She Said, with not much objective information/evidence to corroborate either side, so I will wait to make up my mind on which side I lean towards after I hear some facts (medical records from the night of the alledged assault would be a good start). This case has grabed my attention, though. I'm interested!

I'm not saying I'm an expert on this, but depending on the broken finger, she could have continued to use it without even realizing it was broken. This is from personal experience. I have broken about three fingers and a thumb and never realized it, until the day after and one of them I even went two weeks without even knowing that it was broken. My brother pointed out that it looked wonky, I went to the hospital and got an x-ray and it turned out I had indeed broken it. But because I was impaired (due to pain relief medication for another issue), I didn't even feel it and continued to use it like it wasn't broken.

It's completely unfair. He faced all those consequences and possible consequences. After all u said, there is still no evidence confirming anything. Your personal uneasiness with the text doesn't mean anything. Most text messaging is lost in translation anyway. To try t gage guilt with the context of one text is to say bluntly ridiculous. When he exited the car, she should of let him go. Instead of grab him and pull at him in public. It was also caught on camera. You didn't bring that up. You also didn't bring up the testimony of the driver and the maintenance man that unlocked the door for Majors to find is ex passed out in the closet. Plus the police body cam the catches her noticing her hurt thumb the next day after going out, during the questioning with the police. That's when the coaching supposably happened.

There is a long, disturbing, and sad history in the USA of White women making up stories, embellishing, and lying on Black men (see Emmett Till). This is relevant and problematic in Majors’ story, and needs to be addressed and stopped finally on our modern day.
So yes, some women lie, but our reactions should not be to cast doubt when women make claims of any abuse; our reaction should be to give women credence and listen to their claims fully with respect and also completely investigate with fairness to all parties with the goal of getting to THE truth, not just one person’s story.

Has Jabbari made any public statements about this?
If police are saying she made allegations, and Majors team is saying she wants this dropped... A big way to just have this all dropped would be for her to say this didn't happen.
I'm confused as to why she isn't making any public statements on the matter if she truly is on Majors side.
But maybe she did and I just don't know?

  • @timogul

It definitely sounds possible it could go either way. It comes down to the evidence they can present under penalty of perjury. If everyone on the stand supports Majors as being the victim of an attack, then I hope he can put this behind him and move on. If the evidence presented is shallow and presents a story that seems more like a cover-up, including by the victim, then I don't think his career has much hope in the near term, even if he's cleared on the charges.

I don’t think stealing and chasing somebody to try and steal from them is just “doing something the other person doesn’t want “. I’m pretty sure if I chase somebody for eight minutes because I’m trying to steal their cell phone from them without their permission. I would be charged with a crime lol. Idk though. Yeah, it’s a little different if it’s someone you know, but it’s still a pretty big problem and well passed just something they didn’t want. I have a huge problem with someone’s just blocking a doorway not letting you walk through it. If a stranger did that to me, and I was trying to move through a public area and they were blocking my way I would deck them. If somebody’s chasing me, trying to steal my phone from me, there’s gonna be a big problem. There’s plenty of things I don’t want people to do that they have the complete legal right and moral right to do. I can’t hit them because of those reasons.

Explain something to me though- if the police are in possession of a videotape that shows her hitting and being aggressive with him, and he trying to defend himself and not hitting her at all, then how could they possibly have a) convinced the DA to charge him, b) gotten an indictment, and c) gotten any of this past a judge? Surely if a grand jury viewed a videotape that EXONERATED this man they wouldn’t have charged him, right?? But even if they did, why would a judge not toss the case immediately upon seeing that he is fully innocent? And most of all, why is the DAs office going to intentionally humiliate themselves in court by standing in front of a jury, LYING to them about what happened, all the while knowing that the defense is going to simply put the video tape in the cassette player and expose their lie and destroy their case humiliatingly?
Doesn’t that seem unlikely to you? I dunno.
FURTHERMORE: if this irrefutable video evidence was so convincingly one sided in his favor, why is it that the first thing they tried to use to make it all go away were those totally unconvincing text messages. If they simply have in their hands possession a video, release the video.
    Am I wrong on this??
