I like Cebu City more than Manila because its very accessible to almost everything. The cool mountain havens of Busay, the world-class beach resorts of Mactan and the vibrant and cosmopolitan city that are all short distance away from each other. You dont have to drive long hrs just to enjoy different sceneries/environment.

Dont have to drive long ? The traffic en the driver's are totally crazy in cebu. From seaside mall to liloan takes most of the time 2 hours.

I am not from Cebu, I like it better than Manila. Not only the city of Cebu but the whole island. Cebu is a whole package. Sorounded by the sea and nearby islands from the north, south and east, west. Pristine white beaches, whale and watching, water falls Plenty of malls, forests, public infrastructures, plenty of malls, polite beautiful cool people. I could add more.....

If you are somewhat well to do , but if you're looking for lively hood which almost all of Filipinos do, well manila still b tter than Cebu . That's why so many cebuanos flock to manila and form part of the informal settlers.
Everything can be seen within metro Cebu . Imagine only half an hour to get to these places. metro cebu has mountains , beaches. skyscrapers, cultural and old places.
Manila is way bigger than Cebu, but Cebu got the best of both worlds.
You are of course talking about the city, right? Manila is only a city, smaller in size compared to the entire province of Sebu

The reason why IT Park and Cebu Business Park looks like Makati and BGC is that that developer is Ayala Land.
I was so afraid that the title of the video was gonna garner some negativity from people in Manila. I am quite biased but I like Cebu because it has a perfect balance between city life and rural. I think Each place has its own unique quirks, but I am more comfortable in Cebu.
IT park is where most major Call center is in, and that is why its mostly booming during the night.

I'm originally from manila but I worked in cebu for 2 years during the pandemic and I had to go back to manila again because of the last typhoon in Cebu. I would definitely agree with you, Cebu is the perfect balance of the city and the island life as well. I'm actually planning to live there again in the future.

Cebu city is beautiful! I was there last month before I came here to Palawan. Try to visit other places too like Bohol, Siquijor Island, Camiguin Island and Siargao also Palawan. I'm sure you will like it there too!

I donât like comparing our cities and pitting each other. I think itâs a backward mentality.

It's a long month celebration and hope you could experience Filipino Festival.There is a lot of activities specially the Indak Indak sa Kadalanan on Aug 20 and Pamulak Festival on Aug 21. U should try also street foods in famous Roxas Night Market. There is a lot of food u can choose to eat. And Davao is known for Durian fruit and Philippine Eagle... Please come to Davao Mergim. I grew up in Cebu and have been to Manila maybe 2-3 times in my life mainly to apply for tourist visas etc. I couldnât stay in Manila for more than a day as it was too dirty and congested for my liking. Its good they now have BGC and Rockwell so itâs eased out some of the burden. The airport is still a turn off and so I never really dreamed of moving to Manila. While Cebu is lovely, its good for tourists as itâs got âBeach, City & Mountainsâ package. So much potential remains. But career opportunities still better in Manila. Lived in Singapore in 2008 and moved to Melbourne 2013. I am missing Cebu so much now and plan to take my partner and son with me soon! It will be a new perspective. Thank you for your videos, Iâve now learnt more about my country in the past few days than in the 16 years being away. Looking forward to your Boracay, El Nido and Siargao reactions. These are pretty much the well known tourist destinations. For more off the beaten tracks, try and reach out to Finn. Heâs so good with less known islands most locals have not even explored! Well done and thanks Mergim! Also, you must get a scuba diving license. It would be a sin to be in the Phils and not explore the underwater treasure! We compete with the worlds best! đ€ż

All i can say is. Visayas is way better than manila. The only thing manila got is work oppurnity because the govt mainly focus there. But when it comes to food and natures mindanao and visayas simply the best. Mindanao has many untapped hidden places. Yet to be discovered. Most of my foreigner friend prefer visayas than luzon...
Beautiful Cebu. Try making a video about the newly constructed Cebu-Cordova bridge. then proceed to SM Seaside, one of the biggest malls in the Philippines. Take care.

ThĂ© reason I like Cebu (not only being a Cebuana) as it has everything. mountains, beaches, falls, modern or old types of places, foods, less traffic in a small island. Then most of all it is central hob to all islands of the Philippines. By the way that dilapidated pyramid was due the typhoon. You should go back to IT park as itâs where the Sugbo Mercado Garden bloc as where you can find all types of food from different food stands in the evening. Just inquire from anybody.
Who is responsible for getting the Pyramid fixed? The Cebu government or a private investor group? Whoever, that needs to get fixed.

Cebu and Manila have their own charms. Manila has more action if you like the city life. If you like a balance between urban and rural, then Cebu is your best bet.
IT park becomes even more vibrant when you head there on the weekend. Go to Sugbo Mercado, it's a food market with loads of different food. You can also just chill in some of the benches in the patio in Ayala or at Garden Bloc, have coffee ,etc.
Each city has its own vibe. I visited Baguio City, Angeles City, Dagupan City, Tagaytay City, Lucena City, Naga City, Legazpi, Dumaguete, Cebu City, Iloilo City, Boracay, Palawan, and Puerto Galera in my youth but they've changed drastically over time as modernization and infrastructure development came about. The same phenomenon would be happening in Davao City, Cagayan de Oro, and other cities I haven't gone to. If you intend to explore lots of different places in the Philippines, take the time to stay about a month in each province or region with a major city that you can use as a base to explore the surrounding areas. Learn what the locals and the expats who've settled there like and what things those places are famous for.

Honestly I miss Manila life, fishes. Vegetables and fruits are cheaper than Cebu, 8 years have had lived in Manila b4 went to abroad. After 8 yeras back to my birthplace Cebu and live in Lapu-Lapu for 12 years.
Though fishes and housing prices are quite high I LOVE CEBU. And if I going to live in Philippines again. I still go back to Cebu. You have everything.

Cebu Used to be the Capital City in the Philippines, The oldest city and the first city in the Philippines that is why Cebu is never a province to any second city like manila!
You must try and go back on weekends at SUGBU MERCADO at IT Park, different open night market cuisine, starts at 5pm. Also try a Cebuano Brians Ribs at Casa Verde branches at Ayala, IT Park. Cheap food at Tabo sa banay near Colon Dtreet ang huge market at Carbon Market.
For relegious and historical places, you can go at Magellans Cross Basilica del Sto Nino and Fort San Pedro, Plaza Indepedencia nearby each other

Simple answer, no, but i do agree the islands around Cebu is amazing...
Long Answer is that you have not explored enough of Luzon to see how amazing it is - for an example, 1000 islands is just a bus ride away, so is la union (be it a lot longer), you also have the islands off quezon province then again you have Camarines Norte. Depending on how far you want to travel you have Baguio, Vigan City, Pagudpud, Donsol (whale sharks)... I have not been, but i have only heard good things about Batanes..
So many places to visit even outside of Luzon and Cebu...

Manila doesn't have world-class white sand beaches ( your dolomite beach is from Cebu) you don't have amazing mountain terrains, you do not have world-class majestic waterfalls, you don't have great and incomparable creatures underwater ocean and in the sea, you don't have the grandest festival, We have an island vibe with in the city, you do not have an island hopping, you don't have a place like Tokyo, a place like Amsterdam, a place like Greece, a place like Korea, a place like temples in China and Thailand, a place like Baguio, a place like Boracay, you don't have a place like London bridge the longest bridge in the Philippines CClex, we have the most number of long bridges, you don't have island hopping activities and many many many more. đâđ

i believe you are comparing Metro Manila to the island of Cebu. Which is not the same.
Better comparison would be the island of Luzon to the island of Cebu. In which case, both have world-class white sand beaches (there are tons in Luzon), and amazing mountain terrains (Sierra Madre and the Cordilleras) as you've said. World-class majestic waterfalls (go check out Hulugan Falls in Laguna and that waterfalls in Sagada) as well. Both have great and incomparable creatures underwater ocean and in the sea (did I copy what you said accurately?), island hopping (check out Caramoan and Calaguas island hopping tours).
Is there a place like Tokyo in Cebu? Because I'm pretty sure that Little Tokyo is in Makati. A place like Amsterdam in Cebu? Are you talking about the flower fields up in Transcentral approaching Balamban? I guess you haven't seen pictures of the flower fields up in Benguet. A place like temples in China? Ever heard of Binondo? Or a London bridge in Cebu? Asa dapit?
My only point here is, there's no need to bring one or the other down. Sometimes our pride in our city can bring out ridiculous commentary similar to what you've done with yours. And please, help me locate that London Bridge in Sugbu. :)
Cebu needs to be a Republic or gain independence, Cebu makes Private-Public Projects anyways, CCLEX is not a duterte projects just to remind the retards its a private-public partnership, same with the upcoming 4th bridge it will be a joint venture with Japan Govt and bankrolled by a japanese bank. Cebu gets little to none of govt support yet she is still booming, its time to get all those stolen revenues being placed back where it belongs, back to Cebu ONLY.

you should have visited IT Park anywhere from Wednesday to Sunday so that you could have also tried Sugbo Mercado... its just right across The Pyramid... Sugbo Mercado is only open from Wed-Sun
