I had one of theses when I was at high school, back in the early 70s. Couldn’t believe it when I found out they were still making them😱Of course I had to get one🤷🏻♂️
Yay for sharing this feature. I use Koh-i-Noor clutch pencils and they all have a built in sharpener when you unscrew the metal end. Bonus tip: you can use the shavings to shade big areas with graphite dust and my fingers or cotton tip stick.
I've had the opposite surprise, when I've gotten a clutch pencil and it turned out it *didn't* have a built-in sharpener - my first no-brand cheapie ones did, so I didn't even consider that others might not 😅
I also used to do that! It's a little bit different since the sharpener on my pencil looked a bit more like a sharpener than just a hole. Though I like the other mechanical pensil more since the lead is easier to find.
I have pencils like this with built in sharpener. After sharpening the pencil, I would tap the dust out and used it for shading (not to specify any brand but I got a few random from random stationery shops for cheap)
Oh, you're kidding! I love these even more! I got a Kum long point sharpener that included these leads as well! Turns out we don't need it! Thank you Leslie!
IVE HAD THIS PENCIL FOR YEARS!!! I have a big drafting pencil sharpener but never take it with me because it once opened in my bag, BAD day, My art store sold tiny sharpeners for them but I always lost them. THANK YOU
I just found this video, and i love you so much. God this just made my day way better. Been sharpening the damn thing on a blank paper as i draw. Thank you so much!!!
I just exploded. This has been my favorite pencil for years, finding it in my stepfathers old drafting supplies. I had no clue. Wow, thank you! I love this for drawing and sometimes it has left me wanting. I shall want no more!
i have one of these!! it was my father’s and he showed me how to use the sharpener and i thought it was so cool! but then one day i broke the lead inside the sharpener and i couldn’t get it out so i stopped using it 🥲 it still sits there on his desk to this day…
What?! My (now late) grandpa gave me an old one of these when I was little, as I’ve always been super into drawing. I have never known this….thank u so much for this, now I can use that pencil to actually comfortably sketch! 😭
I bought the 502 lead pointer along with this pencil, which is obviously why SM didn't mention this feature on the packaging. Thanks for this useful info - the built in feature is much more useful and does a much better job than the 502 as well.
Wow your channel is so underrated! Im loving all your content! ❤ Im 🙏 praying the kneaded eraser video catapults you to millions of subscribers like it should! You are absolutely AMAZING 😻 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😻
Wow! I love cool design like this. Usually Japanese stationary is where I find it in pens and inks. But hey, the Germans are pretty fly at design too, so there we are!
Thank you for sharing this. Just a note, besides built in sharpeners on a lot of clutch penciils, Faber-Castell makes the Perfect Pencil. It has an eraser, B lead, a cap cover, and a built in sharpener. The cap with the sharpener fits all standard width pencils including Blackwing.
NO WAY THIS IS LIFE CHANGING
100 percent
It really is! So clever!! ❤
Trueee
No it’s trash. Terrible point and makes a mess
@@reginaldforthright805stfu nobody gives a shit
I’ve been using sandpaper 🤣
That works too! 😊
WHA
😵
Frr or paper itself 😢
Get a rotary pointer bro

Yes! I didn’t have enough time to add that tip, so thanks for adding it. I usually keep a little jar for the dust. 😊
BRUH I ALWAYS KNEW THAT
Gosh thank you
@@StarGameTutorials_Ytgrah keep it a stackk!
This was my childhood. Wasted so many graphite leds just by sharpening and breaking them. I am surprised this isn't common knowledge.
They do show you on the packaging now, but I don’t think they used to.
Same
Don’t do this. Get a rotary pointer
the way I screamed, paused the video and went to grab mine to test it out and omfg its amazing
Hooray!! 🎉
I've had the opposite surprise, when I've gotten a clutch pencil and it turned out it *didn't* have a built-in sharpener - my first no-brand cheapie ones did, so I didn't even consider that others might not 😅
Oh no!! 😅
I had this pencil when I was in school around 10 yrs ago....this brings back memories 😊
It's a surprise for me to see so many people didn't knew that! But when I recall first time using that I also did that accidentally 😅😅
😂 I knew it was supposed to be a sharpener but for a long time I thought the sharpener was in the inside and mine was broken. 😅
I LOVE what you do! Showing useful art tips on how to use products or get the most use out of supplies is majorly helpful! Thank you ❤
That's so kind. Thank you.
Used one of those in college 50+ years ago. The second thing we were shown after how to advance the lead.
Great...thanks...also your artwork in the background is very good... keep up the good work..
That’s honestly really cool, I never knew that!
I knew about the sharpener but not that it came off!!! I’ve just been taking the whole lead out and sharpening that, thank you for this tip
I also used to do that! It's a little bit different since the sharpener on my pencil looked a bit more like a sharpener than just a hole.
Though I like the other mechanical pensil more since the lead is easier to find.

I NEVER knew this!!! Cool!
I remember learning about this, I was blown away 😅
Oh, you're kidding! I love these even more! I got a Kum long point sharpener that included these leads as well! Turns out we don't need it! Thank you Leslie!
I had this as a kid!!! eventhough I was into drawing and sketching I never knew I could use it there. I'd only use it for studying
OMG JUST SHARPENED THE LEAD ON MY PENCIL.
its certainly cool! i use the tub sharpener at home, & the cap sharpener for on the go 😊
If you need a travel pointer uni makes one.
IVE HAD THIS PENCIL FOR YEARS!!! I have a big drafting pencil sharpener but never take it with me because it once opened in my bag, BAD day, My art store sold tiny sharpeners for them but I always lost them. THANK YOU
Wait what 😦 the amount of sand paper I carried in my hs drafting class and this was a feature built in 💀💀💀
I used to carry a beautiful (but heavy!) brass lead pointer in my pencil case when the whole time the cap held the sharpener! 😂
i had this pencil when i was sixth grade 7 years ago and it's awesome !!
I too used 2.0 lead pencils during school time it was a life saver
Thank you I finally figured it out
I just found this video, and i love you so much. God this just made my day way better. Been sharpening the damn thing on a blank paper as i draw. Thank you so much!!!
Please get a rotary pointer
I did not know this either . Been using it for years. Wow😅❤
I discovered this on my own back then! It's such a neat feature
Your voice is wonderful ☺️ Thank you for this 💕
She showed that led a good time.
I had no idea!
Thank you!
I have Steadtler Mars techno from 2016 and I already knew that!
I never knew this until a friend of mine who had one showed me it. I’d always just use it unsharpened 😭
U just changed my whole life
Yes, I know that. It says it like three times on the package it comes in when you buy it.
My favorite pencil
I used to use the shaved for shading :D
That’s awesome!
i didn't know that! thank you!
Absolutely amazing!
Oh wow I didn't even know about this. I absolutely love these pencils.
I like the tub sharpener
I bought this for this reason alone.
Okay that is game changing!
I've had mine for like 2 years, I never realized it had one, thank you :D
It’s such a good feature! Not all clutch pencils and lead holders have this, but for the ones that do it’s really good!
If you like garbage points and lead dust sure
Wow! Who knew!
Omg I was taking my lead out for that trick didnt know the top can come loose 😮😂
Ive had mine THREE YEARS. THREE. IM SO HAPPY BUT ALSO ARGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH
I would never have known and I’ve had this mechanical pencil over 20 years!😂😂
I use these RELIGIOUSLY since my dad let me have his old graphing pencils of thia brand! HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS?!
i have this in my mech coloring pencils, its like a little metal claw that i put the lead in
WHATTT ive literally had this pencil for like 7 years and i had no idea. thank u for sharing!!
Amazing. It even worked with my knock off 😅😂
I actually blew on my screen when you took it out of the sharpener. I feel so silly lol.
IM FREAKING OUT RN I HAD NO IDEA THANK YOU
I had a 2.0 for years and always wondered why it didn't come with an eraser, thanks for this video no longer have to use sandpaper.
Thank you 😂I didn’t realize my lead pencil had a sharpener
:O how did i not know this!!!
I’ve been using a box cutter. 😂😂😂 . That’s crazy!!!!
Omg omg omg The first time ever I can say I knew that lol.
I’ve been using that exact model of pencil for 16 years, and I’ve never known of that feature before. D8
So this changed my life! 😂💛 I’ve had a pencil like this and i’ve had it for a good 5 years and I never knew this!
An exciting discovery! 😊❤
I just exploded. This has been my favorite pencil for years, finding it in my stepfathers old drafting supplies. I had no clue.
Wow, thank you! I love this for drawing and sometimes it has left me wanting. I shall want no more!
I’m happy to have helped! What a lovely thing to have your stepfather’s pencil. 😊
wow thank you so much for sharing ma'am.
Oof. Thanks for teaching me something new about my pencil. I've just been using a nail file. 🤦♀️
OH MY GOSH 😮
Nice ❤
Yes, i love my 2mm criterium because of this feature!
It has a BIG RED DOT on the product case where it shows how you sharpen the tip
i have one of these!! it was my father’s and he showed me how to use the sharpener and i thought it was so cool! but then one day i broke the lead inside the sharpener and i couldn’t get it out so i stopped using it 🥲 it still sits there on his desk to this day…
You just made me realize my pencils have this sharpener too…. 😮
İ knew it :> but thanks for telling
😂❤
Oh my gosh! I have these! Never knew 🥴 (thanks!)
That's great! The Nic Pro also appears to have that same feature.
What?! My (now late) grandpa gave me an old one of these when I was little, as I’ve always been super into drawing. I have never known this….thank u so much for this, now I can use that pencil to actually comfortably sketch! 😭

I just got the sharpener for it works to make longer points or short ones
I just got one of these bad boys, and the instructions were written on the back of the packaging (in three languages to boot)
Cool ❤

That’s such a nice thing to say! Thanks so much for the positive thoughts. ❤
Wowwwwww amazing is that actually a little mini sharpenr in their ??? Thays crazy to me!!!
Yes! It’s so clever!
It works but the little tub sharpener works a lot better and you don't have graphite spilling out of your pencil.
Me knowing this since the start
I already knew that
ive always wondered how you sharpened those! i thought youd just change the whole lead with a new one
Wow! I love cool design like this. Usually Japanese stationary is where I find it in pens and inks. But hey, the Germans are pretty fly at design too, so there we are!
I am using this since 2017
I bought this because of that sharpener. I didn't know it was commom knowledge

I just can't thank you enough.

Prismacolor 2mm mechanical pencil is really similar, I saw and thought it was.
