Awesome breakdown of the phrasing in this and the next lesson. That last part of solo 2 was killing me just cause I couldn't get the phrasing right and it was too long for me to remember! Thanks man!
Your lessons are always great and your playing is awesome!! Joe Perry’s phrasing is unique and quirky in the best way possible and very hard to replicate but I think you nailed it!!

LOOKED AT THE SECOND SOLO.I HAVE CHECKED ABOUT 10 DIFFERENT TUTORIALS ON THIS. EVERY OTHER ONE WAS CONFUSING,OR ABSOLUTELY WRONG AND YOU CAN HERE IT RIGHT AWAY,ESPECIALLY IF YOUR 50 LIKE MYSELF AND HAVE
HEARD IT 10 THOUSAND TIMES.GOOD TO SEE THE REAL THING AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT!!! SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS,THEY STICK ON.
You and I are the same age (well, I'll be 50 this year). The bad tabs and wrong playing drove me mad for years too. I finally said "enough is enough" and I'm going to get it down right. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it! :)

One thing I would like to see is how to connect all the pieces in a slow tempo, so I can get a grasp for the timing between the licks. Besides that perfect job!

You've spent you time. Might be the best I've heard anyone break it down. Your attention to details like the bends is great.
One criticism. I really wish you had then put them together at the end in at least half speed and then at tempo maybe 3 speeds.
I know you do them at tempo in the beginning but you should consider doing it again at the end once the viewer has had a chance to learn it.

Great lesson! It’s funny- that note in the first solo that you highlighted in Red that everyone plays pretty much one of 2 ways- To my ear it’s always sounded like he’s either playing a dead note or nothing at all but I’ve never seen anyone else tab it that way.
Great lesson mate. I play some of that second solo by the nut. Just my preference.

@@lgmnowkondo938 I'm not sure, but maybe you are thinking of the prior album Get Your Wings? That one supposedly had Steven Hunter playing on Train Kept A Rollin, and Dick Wagner also playing on that track plus Same Old Song and Dance.

I find it easier to catch the first 4 notes of the first part of the second solo with my index finger. 5th fret G string, 5th fret B, slide to the 4th, then the 5th fret of the high E. It's a cool little move that's simple blues move that sounds really great. Give it a try. It's much easier than the other two ways. Well I forgot to that there were two E notes on the 5th fret to begin the lick. But I'm sure you would have figured out what I meant. Doing this way your never really out of the Pentatonic box, or a stretch.
Great vid as per :) just a question, do you know what JP plays at the start of the 2nd solo leading into the descending 8-7-5 on the G string when he plays it live? I know it’s slightly different but STs vocal always obscures that bit and I can never really get it.

I have been absorbing your videos for a good while now, but this song is giving me a very hard time..lol..it seems like the tab is not carrying the riff through completely..I am okay with being wrong about it though, Joe Perry has always been one of my favorite players. On a cheerier front, we use the same way of playing that second riff with the pinky finger on the 8th fret!
