    This video, or the entire intro, was uploaded quite a few years ago. Then it disappeared.
    Thanks for bringing it back. Loved that intro theme.
    I was 11, sitting a foot away from my 19 inch black and white TV, rooting for my Vikings. Like Jack Whiticker said... the Vikings and Christmas were synonymous with the holidays, back then. It was a great time to be a football fan, despite being hugely disappointed. (There was no push-off. But, it stung for years to come.)
    Ahhh... memories.
    Thanks again for the upload.

      The rule back then was a judgement call by the ref, if he believed the receiver could have come down in bounds with both feet and was pushed out by the defender he was rewarded the catch.

    Giving up a 4th and 17 conversion with 44 seconds on the clock? Wow! The Vikings earned that loss.

  • @JRZEKE99
    @JRZEKE99 Před 4 měsíci +2

    As a lifelong Vikings fan since ‘68 this was the hardest loss to take for me. Worse than the Super Bowls. I had met Drew Pearson at a show in NJ. I gave him a hard time for 2 days. Drew finally said that he had to do what he had to do. I felt a little better knowing that he basically admitted to the interference.

      I as a life long packers fan am going to put aside my hatred for the team i despise the most and agree with you. It was interference and I wouldn't want that happening to my team either.

      Prevent the 4 and 17 and the decades long bemoaning of Pearson's Hail Mary catch dosent happen unless Vikings offense turn ball over back immediately to cowboys by virtue of fumble or int seals victory for vikes . I'm not a fan of either team ,much respect for both franchise ,but Pearson made a incredible play ,both gentlemen were jostling for position ,better man won epic position battle . If pearson were subtely pushed to ground at that historically climatic moment ,leading to game sealing int ,ref not calling pass interference would've been celebrated ,no Vikings fan would dislike the outcome , still not sure pearson actually pushed off ,i was pulling for vikings ,cowboys simply did what they usually did far to many times in those situations , find a way for victory .

    • @JRZEKE99
      @JRZEKE99 Před 2 měsíci

      @@HaroldMccoy-vv4lt In watching the replay if you watch Nate wright you can see he was pushed. And as I said earlier Drew basically admitted to it in saying he had to do what he had to do. The referee wasn’t in a good position to see it. The referee wasn’t in position to see the bottle that hit him in the head either.

    Can I get on a bus and go back to 1975? Football was 100 times better then...the uniforms, the stadiums, the announcers...it was all imperfectly perfect. Now it's a video game with 10 commercials every 5 minutes and random numbers from endless games plastered all over the screen. The game's not the same. Yes, I'm old...Thanks for the time machine..um, video.

    Back then as a Viking fan, and still today it makes me sad to see this game.
    However, I miss the NFL Back then. Every field had it's quirks. Weather impacted teams in December.
    Phyllis was a Beautiful/Pretty/Inteligent Woman.
    Minnesotans didn't like her because she was a Cowboy fan.
    The Vikings were my team. The Cowboys,Steelers, Raiders, Dolphins, Chiefs, Rams, were all damn good teams.
    To Bad the Vikings never won a Superbowl.
    To Be Honest, Now I could care less about sports in general.

      I am with you. Every human endeavor has its golden age. Then money comes in and ruins it. There's no avoiding that cycle. It happened in music, in radio, in art, in sports. If money doesn't come in, it wont thrive; if money does come in, it corrupts the original purity. Cannot be avoided.

    If Roger could have put a little more on that last pass Pearson might have caught it in stride for the TD not making it look like a desperation attempt since it was single coverage. There have been other Hail Mary's luckier than this.

    Wow I was 8 years old when this game was aired. Growing up in Milwaukee during the 70's I was a Packers fan, a Brewers fan, a Bucks fan, and a Milwaukee Admirals fan. The Admirals are the closest thing that we have to a Professional Hockey team. Now if you liked the Vikings or GASP, the Bears that was "taboo", LOL! I loved Football in general. The 70's had some really great players and teams. The Pittsburgh Steelers, the 🐬🐬Miami🐬Dolphins🐬🐬, the ⭐⭐Dallas⭐Cowboys⭐⭐, and one of the other teams I liked, the Washington Redskins. I was still a Packers fan, but the Pack wasn't exactly a good team in the 70's. I watched them every week, some weeks much more painful than others, but I watched. We were usually the Noon game, so thankfully we were lucky enough to have the late game on the other network which was the AFC back then. Or if we were really lucky we'd have the double header. Granted many of the "Games of the Week" back then on the NFC channel during the 70's was usually the ⭐Cowboys⭐ vs. the ®️🪶Redskins®️🪶, the ⭐Cowboys⭐ vs. the 🦅Eagles🦅, or the Los Angeles🐏Rams🐏 vs. the San Francisco 49ers. So I really began to get to watch these other teams. I gained a real respect for them and a real dislike for others, aka the Raiders(I also liked the Chargers with Dan Fouts). But one team that I liked, I wasn't "supposed" to like. The Minnesota Vikings. Fran Tarkenton was a fun QB to watch, and Chuck Foreman was a brutal running back. Sammy White, Ahmad Rashad, Ed Marinaro(hope I got that right.) Those were all AMAZING players to watch. The Purple People Eaters defense was also pretty darn good as well. Another plus, Bud Grant was a great coach! Plus as I mentioned, my team wasn't exactly winning enough to make the playoffs, heck many times we only won 4-7 games a season. Being able to watch these classic games again is a absolute treat! And when or if the actual commercials are also included in the video it's like you stepped into a time machine, and for the next 3+ hours you get to see those days, those games, commercials for movies, TV shows, foods, restaurants, toys & games for kids, and other 70's era necessities. Thanks for sharing these games with us. It is very much appreciated! God Bless and Thank you again.

    and the rule that allowed refs to assume a catch (both feet in bounds) when they were tackled going out of bounds no longer exists. the 4th and 17 would be incomplete today.
