    FWIW, another option people may want to try (and there, are, of course, many) is 444x. It's very similar to your third example (4442), but rather than sneaking your index finger behind your other three fingers to press on the first string (which I can't, yet, do), you let the finger on the second string touch (aka mute) the first string. This is very similar to the D major chord most folks know (i.e., 3330), but it is up one fret and mutes the first string.

      @@UkuleleZen I'm a very happy Ukulele Zen subscriber, Stuart. I was logged into youtube using my business account when I left the comment (oops!). You hooked me last year with "I Feel Good" by James Brown (czcams.com/video/RxJUT8bG08o/video.html). It's still a work in progress for me, but the steeper the climb the more joyous the summit!

  • @MiaHessMusic

    Thank you. For Tech Tuesday could you talk in more detail about muting a string as you did in the first E chord. How to do it, how to train your fingers to do that, etc. Also have you done a video on F to F minor? That change happens all the time in Ukulele World. All your vids are wonderful, thank you for your time and expertise.

    • @UkuleleZen
      @UkuleleZen  Před 4 lety

      Grazie Mia :) That's a great one for sure! You do hear that in so many tunes like "All of me", etc. muting: lightly lightly lightly is the key. I noticed on my Hi G uke in this video that if I don't FULLY mute that C string, the E chord sounds really...unique!

    Good video. Over my head for now, I am a beginner. It would sure be easier if you showed a diagram of each cord as you demonstrated. I was writing them down in cord boxes for future practice and had to keep rewinding to get the frets you were using. Especially since none of my cord charts showed the cords you were using.

    • @UkuleleZen
      @UkuleleZen  Před 4 lety

      Hey there & thanks for watching - there are chord diagrams as I'm showing the chords... The idea is as I show them you pause the video, they're in them and then test your memory… You can always write them down on a piece of paper this will help you to memorize them. The diagrams are also in the thumbnail image those of the same ones I'm showing during the chord demo video. Thanks & be well, Stu
