Big G is an absolute power house in the monsterverse, but his greatest asset is almost certainly the ability to evolve every time he is brought near the brink of defeat. The new empire will likely be a fest for impressive feats. Godzilla keeps pushing himself beyond his pre-established limits with every subsequent movie release !
That is a very interesting and unique aspect to this iteration of the character that I always liked, and that helped make this one my favorite. He's easily one of, if not THE most adaptive iteration of the character that we've seen, constantly evolving and/or showing new capabilities after each highly difficult and sometimes life-threatening fight in a phsyical response to trauma in order for his body to improve itself and become better suited to handle more future threats. A very unique and remarkable aspect to this particular iteration that is heavily utilized. I like how he's also very prone to and especially proficient in close quarters as well, rather than often relying on his atomic breath.
@@Slaiter130 Yeah, all those traits make this version a really engaging kaiju. His evolution might be slower than shin's or ultima's but it acts more like a defense mechanism with the purpose of retaining balance more efficiently.

Great commentary and perfect understanding of Godzilla vs Ghidorah and Kong.
He was severely underestimating ghidorah. Firstly the Antarctica fight. Godzilla had the upper hand at first but then ghidorah Knocked Godzilla to the ground and Godzilla couldn’t hit ghidorah with his atomic breath and fell so that fight ghidorah won. The Boston was unfair bc Ghidorah can’t swin. And the Boston fight was just a one sided thing bc Godzilla was also juiced up even more than before so ghidorah getting a power up was fair.
@@Hxnnah885no. Ghidorah couldn’t keep Godzilla down. He threw everything at him and he kept getting back up. That’s why he flew off. And missing once with his atomic breath doesn’t mean he couldn’t hit KG. He so several times in the Boston fight.

Of course, the water fight was fair. Each has their own abilities and uses them to their advantage. If you are ridiculously going to say that fighting in water was unfair to KG then it’s unfair that KG can fly and lift Godzilla miles into the sky and then drop him. It’s also unfair that he has three heads which means Godzilla is effectively fighting three opponents at once.

Godzilla was energised from the nuclear explosion but KG even more so from the grid - this is why he shot lightning from his wingtips and suddenly found it easier to smack Goji around. Dougherty has even said this.
This was overall a really good analysis. There were a few inconsistencies here and there like Godzilla getting knocked out by the axe and him tanking the Permian impact, as well as how he took his fight with kong. But disregarding all that this was a pretty good sum up of Godzillas power. He really is the king of the monsters

To be fair Kong is probably the most physically strong Kaiju, and tanking his axe point blank directly on the forehead might be comparable to an asteroid if what directors and writes say Abt their punches shifting continents

Many people don’t like Legendary Godzilla. Most say don’t mirror Toho’s Godzilla. Isn’t that the point? “He move and run faster than he should because of his size.” “He’s too skinny and move human like.” Most of these monsters are faster than Zilla. It’s only fair that he continue to evolve to keep up with them. It’s kinda like Shin Godzilla, but Legendary Godzilla evolves a lot slower.

It’s honestly 50/50. Either people heavily underestimate him or heavily overestimate him. Very rarely is there any in-between. Which is kinda weird considering the movie and novel made it pretty clear they were equals

Good video, but there are several inconsistencies. First off, the Permian impact. Last I checked, that comic wasn't canon and even if it was, I'm pretty sure all of that was Serizawa just guessing what had happened. You mentioned Goji's pain tolerance and stability, however you completely avoided mentioning the aim9 sidewinders that drew his focus away from Kong for several seconds. Also when you brought up the Hollow Earth drilling, a key point here would be how long that would have taken as it was definitely not instantaneous. Also I almost forgot to mention, the mv weights are definitely screwed up as 1: Goji can float and 2: Goji should have sunk deep below the city when he went thermo.
You also attempted to explain Goji's atomic breath. Since the radiation he stores in his body was confirmed to have a neutral charge, what is your explanation for the electricity across his dorsal plates including when he went thermo, as well as his breath being weakened by the MUTOs' emp? You used stars as an example, all of which to my knowledge use gas to burn. All of this seems to point to the 2014 gas and spark explanation for his atomic breath. What are your thoughts on this?

Its funny how hes one of the weakest Godzillas but people cope and say hes super powerful. Dude gets destroyed by every other monster in his own universe and is constantly getting help and powerups to win and people still cry that hes strong. Na thats cope, thats like someone saying there the best at a video game while having his friends help him and is also using cheats in a 1v1 lol.
I feel like taking a meteor to the face constitutes at least some level of power (not even his best feat btw). He never actually needed a power up to beat Ghidorah, in the ocean fight Ghidorah was about to get killed. And the novelization described the Boston fight as an absolute slaughter in Godzillas favor up until Ghidorah himself got a powerup, Kong isn’t a discussion as Godzilla beat him fair and square, despite Kong basically having his kryptonite.
Muto prime was tailored by evolution to beat Godzilla, and even then she only started winning after several rounds tiring Godzilla out, Mechagodzilla only did as well as he did because Godzilla was exhausted.
Can y’all do Godzilla vs justice league cuz there is a comic about it but I honestly just don’t think Godzilla could defeat them like how…Superman can shift a tectonic plate…flash can basically stop time and just vibrate through Godzilla and even creat an infinite mass punch…and then we still have the rest of the justice league league and ik Godzilla is immune to nuclear stuff and is basically a doomsday but I still don’t think he can defeat the justice league…the comic is amazing but I just dont fully understand how Godzilla could defeat them all..just need someone to clarify and help me out
Basically they all think Goji's the sun and therefore is the embodiment of Superman's weakness. Also pretty sure people aren't allowed to include Godzilla in anything unless he comes out on top.

How? Toying would be prolonging the fight for your own enjoyment. The fact it took so long is evidence enough that Godzilla was toying with him. If he wasn’t playing around, he would’ve ended kong in seconds like he did after being hit on the head with the axe

In 2019 he was nuke boosted so that increased his durability and strength
There is a lot of plot armor, would’ve died to the Mutos if it wasn’t for Ford
Would’ve died to MZ if not for the orca
Would’ve died to MUTO prime if not for the orca and so on
And he actually is being hurt by the blast of the nuke, the radiation from it just heals him at a faster rate than he is damaged.
And him being no damaged by the Permian asteroid doesn’t really make sense, if that was true then he shouldn’t have been hurt by falling from the stratosphere.

While that is an amazing feat to be sure, is that technically canon? I was always under the assumption it wasn't, but if it is, then this iteration of the G-Man is incredibly busted.

Don’t get me wrong I like everyone else agree that Godzilla minus one is probably the best Godzilla movie ever made, I’ve paid to see it twice in theaters already and yes, that Godzilla is very powerful but I think people sleep on how powerful the legendary Godzilla really is. And I love the monster verse and I see a lot of people doing what they are doing to the comic book movies in the Star Wars movies movies I feel like now they’re going to do it to the monster versus movies and that is just hate on it regardless, whether Movies is bad or good, it’s just trendy to hate now.
While I love the monster verse, one thing, I do criticize it for that it has not done since the first Godzilla movie in 2014 is that they don’t make it a big enough deal in their movies how big these monsters are and how powerful they are and even if they are “good guy Monsters” we never see the peoples reaction to how scared they are of when King Kong and Godzilla, for example are fighting in the city we never really feel like anyone is in danger. We never see any humans die. We never see the after effect of a Godzilla that has an atomic breath, strong enough, he can blow, a hole from the earths surface all the way to the hollow earth. That’s powerful. so while I love the monster verse, I wish they would do a better job of demonstrating the effect. These monsters have on their world. Yes, we see cities destroyed, but it doesn’t mean anything if you don’t see humans trying to save their own life, and get out of the way.

Wingard said in an interview. If Godzilla fought Mechagodzilla, coming in fresh. He would have mopped the floor with Mechagodzilla. So basically Mechagodzilla/Ghidorah consciousness was taken advantage of the situation.
Wingard never said he could win. He just said that Godzilla would've faired better
He never said that he would win Mechagodzilla. He only said that it would end differently. That doesn’t mean that he would’ve won the fight, the could mean that Godzilla just put up a better fight but still lose.
@@Monke0o0he absolutely would’ve still lost. His atomic energy level has nothing to do with his melee ability, so he would still be getting thrown around. The fact that mechagodzilla can survive firing his own beam and can survive clashing with Godzilla is evidence enough to prove that he has both the heat and pressure resistance to tank Godzilla’s atomic breath. He probably would’ve done a bit better and would keep the fight going for longer, but easily lose. Mecha was made to combat Godzilla, but ofc that’s not an instant win, however it is important to take into account. If I create a gun made to destroy bullet-proof vests, it would probably do better against it than a normal rifle (if yk what I mean). Basically, the fact it’s made FOR Godzilla is much better than say, if he was made for kong or ghidorah.

So Godzillas atomic breath is 4500 times more powerful then the Type 14 phaser banks on a Sovereign class starship in Star Trek. The Enterprise E. And the Death Star main beam is 1.5 times powerful than Gs breath. Wow!
I am curious where those numbers come from, considering the fact that the Death Star's beam blew up planets pretty much instantaneously while Goji took several minutes (if not hours) to even make it to the Hollow Earth.

And Godzilla almost died in KOTM and was getting rocked in 2014 when he was 1v2. And he got rocked by mechag. He certainly hasn't been shown to be way too OP... from a film making stand point. That's kinda what you get from any kind of fiction though.

It’s been a minute since I watched the movie so I can’t confirm if they fought in Vegas, but Godzilla and the Mutos fought in multiple places. The battle just ended in San Francisco

Godzilla would've died in the 2014 movie if it wasn't for that one guy who's name i forgot blew up Female MUTO's eggs and distracting her, MUTO's would simply continue beating up Godzilla until he dies. Ghidorah also beats Godzilla multiple times. In the Arctic Ghidorah knocked out Godzilla with his Gravity Beams. Ghidorah could've also did what he did in the Boston fight, lift Godzilla up to the stratosphere and drop him. In Boston, Ghidorah's boost doesn't mean anything at all. Godzilla had a boost from an atomic bomb, Ghidorah got a boost from electricity. Also when Ghidorah shot lightning from his wings, Godzilla got knocked back (keep in mind, that is ELECTRICITY, Godzilla can tank nukes). And Godzilla literally needed Mothra help him.

Well. For one, he keeps getting bigger and STRONGER. For another...how strong? Well, given that we can now add "killed Superman" to his list of feats...uh...strong enough. And bear in mind, the Legendary films have yet to even clarify if he has the same insane regeneration ability as his Japanese counterpart. If he does...he's next to invincible.
You can’t really count the Superman feat, as it was the weakest version of Superman ever seen compared to a Godzilla that’s stronger then most.
And he no he has no where near the regenerative abilities that he Japanese counterparts have, it’s stated he would require decades to heal, burning healed his secondary brain being fried and repaired it and was walking again with only a minimal amount of radiation. Godzilla required a 1 megaton nuke to get himself going, and was going to blow up in the process, you can’t really compare legendary to Tohos Godzilla’s as they’re not meant to be realistic, heisei’s cells survived and adapted in a black hole, he also uplifted oceanic plates and unlike mv Godzilla he’s proved he can do it. He also tanked a 5 billion degree beam and universal attacks from space Godzilla.
