When I was a boy in the 70s, I was a big Smokie fan. The line up that time was Chris, Terry, Alan and Pete.
One night I dreamed, that Smokie will give a concert in my small 2500 people village in Germany in the arse of the world 😂 ridiculous...
But call me a f***ing prophet :
More than 20 years later this really happed! They really were there in my little sleepy backwater area.
Not with Chris, but with the wonderful Alan Barton shortly before he unfortunately died. 😢
Nevertheless it was a beautiful evening and like a very big miracle for me, that this dream came true and I was there🎉✨🎶🎵
The good old songs were played very rocky and a little hard-edged. Contemporary somehow. Cool. I liked it!
"Lying the arms of Mary" fits so very good in this Smokie style. I like this version very much. The setting, the arrangement and the mix.
You really could think, it always had been an old smokiesong by themselves.

Cool a Chilliwack tune, not sure who wrote it though, perhaps Henderson
The Chilliwack version is a cover of the Sutherland Brothers and Quiver version from 1975 and it was written by Scottish songwriter Iain Sutherland.
@@rjsegedin7116 Thanks for putting it out there that Iain Sutherland wrote Arms of Mary. I’ve heard the version by Chilliwack and it’s a travesty, a wailing out of tune rock guitar, right up front in the mix. Sadly, Iain passed away a couple of years ago, but if he ever did hear the Chilliwack cover, I’m sure he would have been disappointed.
