Process begins to remove Confederate statue from downtown Tampa

  • Work crews spent their afternoon, in the blistering heat, at the Hillsborough County Clerk of Courts building drilling holes into a marble statue to determine how structurally sound it is, and how difficult it will be to move.

    This is stupid. Leave our reminders of history alone. Why can't these people who want change do something productive with there lives instead of trying to take everything away from everyone else.

    FFS, these statues are an embarrassment. I can't believe people want them all over their towns. They should be taken to a museum to be kept for posterity and for proof that these terrible things happened. But they shouldn't be strewn about town. They aren't decorations. No one will forget.
