After all, like Marcia said, it would have been a disaster if both Doug and Charlie had met inside.
I had a pair almost like them and so did my cousin. We had red bodysuit tops that went with them. Ours had a front button, zipper and pockets . lol. We didn't think a thing wrong with them in 1975 and probably were dressed rather nice .

They both have the most perfect long silky blonde hair I’ve ever seen. I wonder how girls used to take care of their hair back in the day, I rarely see a 60s/70s girl with bad hair. And the hair is always so long and shiny I’m so jealous (in a good way). Less heat? Better quality shampoos? High quality foods?
Brushing your hair was a bigger deal back then for starters which is so good for your hair. In the 80's we permed so much and just used a pick. Also I don't think these girls processed their hair (perm, color) and like you said, less heat.
All of the above. And I honestly think the food quality did something to their arms and legs. 70s girls had the healthiest bodies but something went seriously wrong with the food in the 80s. Yeah true - He's suppose to be in high school but older - he's suppose to be a senior. Marcia is suppose to be an under classmen. In the industry yes actors that are older play a younger part. When Olivia Newton John did Grease she was 26.

Jan's slacks are GROOVY
Very trippy indeed.
They matched the recreation room couch.
Made of itchy polyester.
May be part of her Stage Attire & Wardrobe.
Doug Simpson looks like he's at least 25 years old. He must have been left back several times if he's in high school! LOL
Am I the only one who thinks Jan's outfit is fabulous?
ikr
I agree! Their outfits weren't always the greatest, but Jan looked pretty chic in those bellbottoms.
I think those pants were patterned after the design on the Partridge family bus!
Jans pants match the lounge fabric. Just perfect.
I had a very similar outfit and wore it for picture day! I like Jan's hair without those side curls. She's a pretty girl.
Eve Plumb was far better looking than she got credit for.
Wholeheartedly agreed.
Angela Frankenschloss
You're too bad looking yourself there, Angela.
+GlobalTubeTruth I hate how they made her look for the show but by Season 5 she looked gorgeous
GlobalTubeTruth
Thank you, G.T.T.
Thanks I'm very flattered.
:-)
So I was today years old when I learned Doug Simpson in the Brady Brunch was also Friedrich in The Sound of Music - That's hysterical. 😂

Too bad we never got to see the duke out between doug and charlie on the show lol though in the brady bunch moive it was filmed lol.
Jan’s flaxen wavy locks FAR OUTshines Marcia’s
Those are beautiful pants Jan is wearing.
Yeah they match the couch in the den lol

I’ve always loved The Brady Bunch:) Love the styles and clothes! Would loved to had been a kid in these times:)🙋🏼♂️✨💗
I was a kid in those times. They were highly overrated.
It was fabulous. We all had plaid pants when we were 3, about this time. Both boys and girls.
Doug...is a grown man 😂😂😂 Highschool my a-
Doug was held back twice so he could play football after he ended puberty
David Steinle you are hilarious!
I think Cindy was perfectly capable of understanding what was going on.
They treated her as though she was a two year old.
Well, not to mention, Marcia and Jan were essentially innocent children too
@@jaengen Susan Olsen use to wonder if her character was retarded or something. lol She was a child actress and had no control over the script.
It's because Eve was a quiet beauty. You don't notice it right away.
I like your description of her. That's a good insight.
The same with Valerie Bertinelli of ODAAT and Kim Fields of Facts of Life. They were cute when they were young but when they reached their teens LOOK OUT! They were gorgeous.
I think Jan is very pretty 😀 dig Jan's snazzy pants I had a pair similar to them 😁
Eve was the prettiest
Eve Plumb - we know it's you who's writing this.
Eve was pretty. But no. Not the prettiest. That award goes to Florence Henderson.
Now has Shorter Hair & replace her long one she had back in the day.
I think this clip should have been called "too young to understand"
Why Cindy would have been too young to understand
Child Doug looks like he's in his 30s... Like he got a mortgage and everything
It does look like he's a car salesman trying to sell Marcia the car
The actor playing Doug was 23 when the episode aired - so in the ballpark.
@@bearforceone689 yes, he was 23 and Maureen McCormick was 17.

I was thinking the same thing!!!! Don’t touch her…. You will go to jail!!!
Always hated how the girls never took cindy seriously even when she was older.
She must have been coming up on Marcia's original age by the end of the run
And Susan hated how the scriptwriters never let her act her age.
I just realised both Gretel and Friedrich from The Sound of Music were on the Brady Bunch. I wonder if any of the others were too!
“You make the car look great, Marcia”
Um
Oh my gosh, how did they manage to find an actor for the Doug guy in the '95 film that looks exactly like this guy?!
Doug is lame-o. Marcia's better off with Charlie! Jan be rocking those fine bell bottom plaid pants too.
Ron D Thank you Ron, I totally agree
Nicholas Hammond was more Flash Thompson than Peter Parker here.
I totally understood stuff like this when I was Cindy's age. It's pretty basic stuff.
“And that wallpaper didn’t walk in by itself you know, SOMEBODY had to bring them!” get it now dumbhead!😂😂
I noticed jans eyes toward the guy that came into the house. Like how are you look. Yeah Jan was pretty. Her eyes and hair.
Actor playing Doug played the oldest boy in the movie ''The Sound of Music''
Something suddenly came up....
Doug is soooo dreamy he truly is the big man on campus.
Jan's pants epitomize the 1970s ✌ lol
Yeh nick sure hit that growth spurt after the sound of music. Big man on campus.
Just how big I wonder.
Old enough to have gone to school with girls who had outfits like Jan's. Just seeing that outfit takes me back, good times.
Am I the only one that thinks Charlie is way cuter than Doug Simpson?
LuvTadnDixie Charlie is kind of cute I guess, but Doug Simpson is beautiful. And the BMOC!

In a few more years, people will refer to this as the Jan Brady and Her Family Show.
Change my mind.
Ladies and gentlemen, introducing 48 year old Doug Simpson
Charlie was better looking then Doug. Marcia should have never broke here date with him.
he looks 30 and she looks 14, guess thats how the rolled back in those days

I always thought Charlie was way cuter than Doug...certainly nicer!
Is nobody going to comment on how fantastic Doug’s Triumph TR6 is!?
Damn right. One of Marcia's other boyfriends had an equally groovy Triumph Spitfire.
Cindy was a very smart girl .
love Marcia Marcia Marcia
It's like the episode where Mike shows up with Stan while Ted was upstairs.
So Doug’s the BMoC and probably going to play Football at a big time college. So did he get that car as a ‘gift’ from an alumni? 😂.
I love Jans outfit .
This is from the "Oh, my nose!" episode -- "The Subject Was Noses".
Marcia wasn’t the brightest person
The rifleman questions right now
Is Doug like 80 what the heck
No. He looks about 25.
Jane was pretty smooth the way she helped Marcia avert what could have been a major disaster.
Poor Susan, she was like 14 and still treated like an 8 year old.
Still better than how Carrie in Little House was treated.
She reached her peak in the Shirley Temple episode with Mrs.Howell!
Doug was Friedrik one of the children in the sound of music
Doug was Friedrich from The sound of music
OMG it’s Doug Simpson!!!!
Except for the nose part, I didn't think Doug was such a horrible person. He seemed polite.
See you at sküle
Jeez, Spoiled Brat Brand New TR6, in high school
Much better days in the sixtys but what do i know i wasn't even born yet.
Jan is a cool sister; she is looking out! Didn't that guy try to wreck the Enterprise?
Cindy looks about 10 years old. I think she was old enough to understand.
And Doug looks too old to be in high school.
Doug, 35 years old. 🤔
So that s where that came from that date on Sat. Night
Shakespearian.
Peter Parker aka Spider-Man from. 1977 🙂
Dang! How old is Doug?? 😳😳
Greg looks like he's in a frat at the local university, not a high school student.
Barry was 18, almost 19, when this episode aired, so a college frat would be more appropriate than a high school.
That’s not Greg, that’s Doug Simpson
No bras for Marcia and Jan?
"Cindy, you're too young to understand!"
I don't understand what's going on
DOUG AIN'T GOOD LOOKING😥😥
He's totally slimy and looks pervy
Hes ok
Doug looks about 30
When Friedrich von Trapp got to America...
Shouldn't the title of this have been "You're Too Young to Understand"?
Doug is a dreamboat
Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus I always liked Charlie better, lol
What high school kid could afford a Triumph back then?! Not to mention Doug was not all that great looking! LOL
Odd to see Marcia coming home from school without a pocketbook.
Or a bra lol
Did Cindy had best friend hmmmm
That’s all they can tell her. Your too young to understand. It might be to complicated to give detail
No bra @1:04 :)
That was the style. A type of rebellion during the 1970s.."All natur-al". I was there! Took it for granted.
According to Maureen McCormick, she got away with that once or twice, but after a while the producer made sure she was wearing one.
homestly maybe I was born in this generation, but Alice was the only funny one in this series
Sam was funny too.
I liked Charlie better in every way...Doug's not so hot...
