DIY Mint Chocolate Macaron Bear Tutorial - Kawaii Paper Clay Crafts

I had some Mermaid Puffy clay and deco sauce at home so I decided to make a tutorial to test both of them out! This was a spontaneous design as I love the colour combination of minty green and chocolate brown. Feel free to adapt the tutorial to make pink bunnies, yellow kitties, or anything else! The trick to this tutorial is to work with water which can be used to soften, sculpt or glue the paper clay. You can also use rubber gloves when mixing paint, especially the brown and black will stain your hands easily. Since the macaron is irregularly shaped, I don't recommend trying to 'sandwich' the filling like a real macaron. It's easier to run a thin roll of clay along the inside edges, which ensures that the filling looks nice and even from every angle!

@joanne quan Yes, definitely don't bake paper clay because it will melt! The reason I like using it is simply because you can leave it for a few days and it dries on its own. It shrinks a tiny bit when dried but it's barely noticeable.

Psst! If you're from the states or another country where you can't get Mermaid Puffy clay, Model Magic is an excellent alternative! It has a very similar texture and is also airdry.
or u can just order mermaid puffy online
but yes model magic is great, i just hate the smell

I wish I watched your video earlier! My first time using paper clay and adding water would have made it so much easier to mould. But it worked out in the end :).
LadyGaijin92 Thank you! I've heard from other crafters that paper clay isn't always foolproof to work with because it depends how long the clay has been sitting on a shelf. Some suppliers may sell old clay that has already dried out too much so even add water may not fix it. I also work with air-dry resin clay a lot, and I find that adding acrylic paint also softens them up nicely :)

opsional:baby powder nfood colouring...
3 ingredient..non toxic.
