Deibys has a voice like Dino Jelusick. Combined with solid instrumentals and a nice groove & melodies, this is really good!

There's been a serious influx of singers that sound just like Russell Allen lately, I guess I'm OK with it. In the midst of my first listen, good stuff.
Okay, finally had time to check this *supposed* gem out...killer opener, love it. But um, I gotta say, I don't dig the overall heaviness I'm getting from the rest of it all. Last album grew on me over the years, but it was special to begin with, they had Urban bloody breed on vocals. I'm not sure if this new guy purposefully tries to sound like him or that's just his voice. I just keep hearing Urban and it somehow works...but then I get hit by the almost goofy lyrics (at times) and the clear change in genres and I'm like, is this the same band? Granted, A Time of Changes was nothing like the debut as well. But it was easier to get into, I feel like. That's not to say this is a bad album, just a bit too *eh* for my taste :)
Don't get me wrong, I love me some heavy metal. Just didn't expect to hear it from Project Arcadia. They really had a thing going with the last album, every melody was memorable, every song a masterpiece. Let's take Timeless and compare it to Sweet Scented Madness here. Timeless is a song sung by breed and he sings about *fucking love* and I don't get bored of it. Sweet Scented Madness has a similar song structure, but it got boring the second I got to the chorus. Also, can we talk about how much this vocalist sounds like Urban during the Bloodbound days? It's not even funny :p
Wait...Sweet...Dreams of Madness! Yup, that's the one! Track #1 on Bloodbound's Tabula Rasa, *exposed* lol.
Funny. LOL. Find the booklet. See the credits. Guess who took an important part in writing "Sweet Scented Madnees". Lyrics too. Ha-ha.
@@kosmiaga Well now it all makes sense! Thanks for the reply, Patso :) Yeah I was going to look up some lyrics and kinda forgot haha. From what I can hear they're decent, just a bit cheesy for me. Keep thinking Urban wouldn't tolerate this much cheese (but after Serious Black who knows lol). Makes for some awkward transitions. That said, it could just be a me thing. Instrumental wise the album is an 11/10 :) Rusty Cage is such a banger, my favorite song hands down \m/
Will give the album a few more spins and see if it grows on me. I just want Urban back with new music and your new vocalist reminds me of him wayy too much lol
