The look in his eyes is so powerful when he decides not to kill the head coyote. He has to know he's a goner at this point, but he has a responsibility to keep the deaths to a minimum as a man of honor and conduct. And he accepts the responsibility of being the "minimum". This movie doesn't deserve this scene but without it it wouldn't exist so I am grateful for it in the end.
What did you mean? It's an offense for all those who have it a part of their childhood. Whit would be the day would found a comment who talks good about these moves!?
Okay comment story time: I was about 9 years old when this came out, and this scene... THIS SCENE was the first time I had seen a character in a movie *genuinely* sacrifice their life in such a dramatic way, and THIS SCENE made me understand what literal, physical, self-sacrifice was. And it landed so heavy in my child-mind, this version of the song is my actual favorite, if tied with the original Cash. It seems silly, but it's also amazing to me what becomes important to our developing minds.
I know right? For me as a kid this scene that really hammered home that lesson Ben tried giving "A strong man will stand up for himself, a stronger man will stand up for others" - Ben
Honestly, looking back now it's one of the most emotional scenes in an animated movie ever and It really comes out of nowhere in a movie like this. I then realized how much it stuck with me when I was younger after rewatching.
Something I'd like to point out, 4:09 In this scene, Ben decides whether to put Dag down in that moment, and maintains eye contact the entire time. He's deciding for himself. When it is up to Otis to make that same decision, he hesitates as well, but now with emotional weight from the death of his father. He breaks eye contact, unlike Ben, and likely is in brief remembrance of an old story and lesson his father once told him. I'm willing to believe they put this detail intentionally, given how good this scene is shot.
It’s been years, I’ve seen this movie multiple times throughout my lifetime, and I just notice now that Deg is a character that metaphorical represents the devil. The red coat, evil attitude, and very intelligent and tactical way he acts should have probably given it away earlier. His laugh when one of the hens stood up to him still gives me shivers.
I do feel like the creators were trying to get that reaction out of the audience with Dag’s character. He has a very devilish appearance and every time he shows up, he’s bad news.
You're right, even his ears look almost like horns in some shots. As a kid I always thought the red fur was just a way to make him stand out from the other coyotes and establish him as the leader, but this makes so much more sense.
Death to PG Even then they would change the word. For example, with dbz they changed the word hell with some other word which was HFIL. Home For Infinite Losers or some shit
I’ll never forget watching this as a kid. I could smell my childhood living room and my mom’s 50 cent vanilla candles. Wild how the smallest things of nostalgia can do that
I remember a 12 year old me singing this song to myself when I was running the mile for school. When the pain was too much or when my lungs were begging for a break, I pushed on and never gave up. This song became my life motto back then and I never gave up in anything I did, no matter how hard it got. As life went on, I forgot about this song and I realize now that I became weak. As a 25 year old man whose lost most of his strength to mental illness and bad choices, I am so glad now that I came across this video again to remind me how strong I was. Thank you for reminding me of who I used to be and who I used to look up to...an animated cow named Ben.
This might have been one of the first times I ever saw a character die on-screen in a movie, the other being Simba's Dad. I didn't cry, but I just remember having this incredibly heavy feeling in my chest. The expressions and voice performances of the characters are absolutely perfect. Proof that even the silliest of kids' movies are capable of handling dark subject matter in a mature and impactful way.
Jesus died and rose again to save you from hell, but you have to accept him as your savior first. These Bible verses explain how you can accept Jesus as your savior and have eternal life (John 3:16, Romans 3:23, 3:10, 5:12, 6:23, 5:8-9, 10:9-10, 10:13, 10:17, 8:28, Ephesians 2:8-9, Hebrews 11:1-3, James 1:17, 2 Peter 3:9-10, 1 Corinthians 15:51-55, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 21:4-6) 🙂
It’s really interesting how in such a brain dead movie, this scene sticks out as genuinely one of the most gripping scenes from an animated film at the time. But I'll be damned if I didn't say that this movie had some stellar emotional moments and acting. It's definitely overlooked sometimes, but all in all, it was a pretty great movie.
I loved the uniqueness of it. It reminded me a little bit of Toy Story but this is with animals. So when humans are around they act normal, but when the humans are gone they do their own thing and act human like themselves.
The Way Dag says "You know me, Lady Killer," to Ben, with that Sadistic look on his face. It made me realize that there one of three possible meanings to that: One: Dag killed Ben's wife. Two: He killed Otis's birth mother. Three: Both 1 and 2. Honestly, I think the point of that line Dag said to get under Ben's skin, meant that somewhere in the past. Dag killed a female cow Ben was close to. you tell me what you think is the most likely answer.

I still cry to this 😭 never forget a legend like Ben. My mom used to talk about how when I was younger I would cry everytime and rewatch that movie everyday. To this day I still see why I did that. RIP Ben ✊🏼 my first moral role model
I was randomly thinking about this scene at like 4am yesterday I go to my CZcams recommended section today and I see this at the top....I DIDNT EVEN SAY IT OUT LOUD, these online algorithms scare me
Funny, growing up without a father I used to look up to fictional characters like Ben. Didn’t understand it then but now I realize when we’re kids we yearn for that role model to show us how to be honorable men, respected men, I remember crying when Ben died, and again years later when I heard that song again, guess it stuck with me.
Years gone by since I’ve seen this movie and it still impacts me the way it did to my 8-10 yr old brain, RIP Ben hope you’re still singing Cash in cartoon heaven
There was a never a more inspiring movie scene to see as a kid. I miss the days when entertainment wasn’t just entertainment, but actually taught kids life lessons. I think about this movie scene on a weekly basis and haven’t seen it in almost a decade. This is the kind of movie scene that inspired younger me to not hesitate to put your life on the line to save others, and I had dreams and promised God I’d join the United States military. Unfortunately over the years I’ve fallen short as I’ve payed closer attention to politics. Our military no longer fights for the American people but instead the American government in most cases. God bless the fallen heroes. May their sacrifices be forever remembered for the greatness they fought for. America as of now is on the quick decline and it’ll be a hellhole in no time. Tell your father you love him. Our world needs strong men like Ben.
Loved this movie, casting Sam Elliot as Ben was Such a Great Choice he brought so much power Courage & leadership & meaning to such a short but important role.
This movie aged well. A story about taking responsibility and living a life with meaning. Otis lived like a kid, wasting his time. His Dad modeled a life with purpose in service to others. That's being a Man.
I sang this song to my grandma when I was 5 years old. She was shocked that I said hell. We laughed about it years later. Still one of the best memories of her that I have before she passed. Thank you Ben.
Bens response to dags mocking challenge is legendary, seeing him coldly and smoothly lifting the guitar and playing made me want to be like him... This was nickolodeon back in the day, made a fucking BULL my role model, that's good television
This scene had no business being as powerful as it was.

i was wondering how many comments I'd have to scroll past untill i got to "top 10 anime fight scenes". it was 3
Now it's 10 characters who can beat thanos.

How was that video a year ago?
This scene still gets me to this day. Even the song after Ben dies makes me feel the emotion.
I still cry to this 😭 never forget a legend like Ben. My mom used to talk about how when I was younger I would cry everytime and rewatch that movie everyday. To this day I still see why I did that. RIP Ben ✊🏼 my first moral role model
Fun Fact:
Ben was played by Sam Elliot.
Sam Elliot is also the grandpa in The Ranch.
Sam Elliot is a lot of things.
Pussy is not one of them.
@@ndcentral8194 just like your dad
@@loafisbread I have tears of joy.
Dylan Baldwin they should have colt and his daughter watching this

Dag: we have you outnumbered 6 to 1.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful and symbolic this song is in this movie?
Ben is still to this day, the realest nigga to be animated

Me too I’m not even mad this I miss this movie
They read minds
Gum Pasta happens with me too

I’ve had the same type of experience. I’d like to know what’s going on.
When I was a little kid this was the most bad ass thing I’d ever seen up to that point
Ben was old and still whooped they ass. All 6 of em
Briece Rogers he had to sacrifice his own life though to do it
Awesome
Ben in his prime has amassed a power level that exceeded the Omni King
Cows in general can kick ass like nobody's business. If Ben had been (pun) a bull, those coyotes would have died ten seconds into the fight.
Briece Rogers So is Tom Brady Gonna whoop all six rings
All he had to do was say "Swiper, No Swipping"...
dag is so cute but he looks like he hasn't slept for a moon because his eyes look sunken and droopy and his skin looks so dry.what do you think?
But Dag is a coyote not a fox
+Matt Gerrish (Gamerdude56) In this movie male cows have udders I'm pretty sure we could call dag a fox.....
Assassin Of Gaming Ben, Otis, and Pip even mention they're coyotes. A few other characters do as well.
swipper is a fox
This taught me how to stand up to my bully’s as a kid
Omgggg I had this in my head at work all day n it hit harder than I remembered. This gave me goosebumps as a kid n still does. Like taking a stand
This scene fucked me up
agreed
amen lol but why did he have to die ;'(
i dont know
same. shit brought me to tears.
me too
they fear ben...... you know you're good when you can play a guitar while beating six cyoties
Years gone by since I’ve seen this movie and it still impacts me the way it did to my 8-10 yr old brain, RIP Ben hope you’re still singing Cash in cartoon heaven
First movie I felt emotionally attached too
I loved this movie and the show was hilarious. Definitely one of my childhood gems.

Bullman yea I know
There was a never a more inspiring movie scene to see as a kid.
Otis's dad was a capital B Badass
@Casual Banana Studios same, both are equally heartbreaking
I thought this was his brother?
This was a beautiful scene. This was the first time I had seen death when I was a kid, and it broke me inside...
ElasticKitten13 Damn i remember how dark this movie was
ElasticKitten13 ikr
ElasticKitten13 did you here flesh ripping and sharpteeth sink into ben's skin
ElasticKitten13 It's still breaks me
The difference between Ben's fight and Otis fight against dag and the coyotes is Ben said put the hen down dag Otis said put the chick down dag
Ben never did back down. He kept fighting with every ounce of his strength to protect the farm
This movie aged well. A story about taking responsibility and living a life with meaning. Otis lived like a kid, wasting his time. His Dad modeled a life with purpose in service to others. That's being a Man.
My mom always claimed I cried like a lil bitch while watching this scene and I never believed her. After rewatching I 100 % see her point
Haha
It's okay to cry.
When it hurts it hurts.😐
“Put the hen down dag”
“I gave you all I had Dutch”
Me: there’s something very familiar about all this 😂
Damn now u got me crying more
Indeed
Oh ffs no! Goddamit 😥😥😂
why can't you have some GOD DAMN FAITH!!
Good one Boah.
Dag is such a menacing character.
I sang this song to my grandma when I was 5 years old. She was shocked that I said hell. We laughed about it years later. Still one of the best memories of her that I have before she passed. Thank you Ben.
A tragic loss of a great hero. God rest his soul.
It's a fucking fictional character
@@christianalexander579chillax there Christian.

Ben was a better Barnyard leader than Otis
its an animated cow bro
Bens response to dags mocking challenge is legendary, seeing him coldly and smoothly lifting the guitar and playing made me want to be like him... This was nickolodeon back in the day, made a fucking BULL my role model, that's good television
not only a bull but a bull with utters
+Macks Bryan lol

This was a movie and it didn't come out THAT long ago to be ref to as "back in the day".
Eric Hardeman you could actually say back in the day this movie came out in 2006
It’s crazy that this and Biggie Cheese are in the same movie
RIP Ben, this song/scene honestly keeps me going even all these years later.
I cried my eyes out when I saw this scene omg
I didn't cry but I was sad as hell that he died 😢
Avery Fradette I almost cried just because of how nostalgic this movie is to me
I was crying that he gets hurt by his bones inside from the coyotes :'(
Same in the movies and game.
me too isnt it so emotional xd
When Sam Elliott said "Put the hen down, Dag." Everyone just went 😮
He stood his ground even if hes outnumbered
Just the fact that he started playing guitar in the face of his murderer is enough to send chills.
Ben doesn't fear death
Whoever played Dag really did a good job.
AaronAmerican518 That would be David Koechner~
Mortal kombat 11 looks sick
