Me too Mike. Having someone watching while your working, I tend to make silly mistakes I normally wouldn't. Not sure why that is.
Best to you and your family for the loss of your dog...
Thanks Kyle for checking out my video 👍
Sully will be missed but he lived a good life 🙂
Sorry about your dog losing a pet is a hard thing....this thing is gonna be sick nice build
You know what I like Mike is that a majority of your tools 🛠 are ones most guys can afford. You don’t have the most expensive of everything yet the stuff you make is amazing! Love your videos can’t wait to retire to have more time to do stuff like you.
Right on! I really appreciate your comment 👍 I have always worked with what I got, you should have seen the fab tools I had four years ago when I built my bandsaw mill, Haha I basically had a repaired old Lincoln flux welder, a old worn out metal cutting bandsaw, a angle grinder, a 1940s bench top drill press and a few clamps and hand tools, not much but my sawmill really turned out good 👍
I definitely own affordable tools and I like them, I do find all of them quite capable and I’m able to build a lot with them and I’m happy it’s encouraging to others too!
It makes me laugh from time to time when I get comments from people telling me I need to buy a real welder, a Blue or Red name brand one that cost two or three times more then my welder, they act as if those machines give you super powers or something Haha!
Take care Carlos 🙂
2 months later...a Sherman tank in the garden xD....(GJ Mike!)
Boy howdy he sure could whip up a tank with that CNC cutter.
You're living my dream man. I wish had the tools and abilities that you have, but I don't, that is why I love watching. I would bet money that most of your viewers are hobbyists like me. We enjoy watching you experiment and learn, the fact that you are willing to share it with us is only to our benefit and enjoyment. Don't fret the potential naysayers. You are building an articulating tractor in your own garage! I doubt any of us know anybody who is attempting the same feat. Keep sharing and good fortune to you in the coming year!
Thats awesome!
Its amazing what you can build with a plasma cutter, welder and drum set!
cant wait to see this dump truck driving!
Haha! Thanks Jack 👍
People like you are the whole reason I watch CZcams. Great Job! 👍🏽
Right on 👍 thank you 🙂
Awesome fabrication skills. I am really enjoying this build.
Thanks Jack!
That CNC plasma table is genius!
Nice, wasn't expecting the drums to make another appearance, but well incorporated 👍 RIP Sully.
Thanks for checking out my new video out!
I’m thinking I will put a little bit of drums in each one of these videos in this series, people seem to like it and I have fun playing them 👍
Thanks for mentioning Sully 🙂 he was a good boy and will be missed. Take care
I smashed my thumb with with a hammer just so i could give you a big thumbs up. Lol , looking forward to the rest of the build👍
Hahahaha!!!! Keep smashing that thumb!!! I lol'd so hard I sharted.
Haha right on guys! I really appreciate the support 👍👍👍
RIP old boy.
Thanks Patrick 🙂
Dude, I love that trick at 15:15! Im mainly a woodworker but this can still be used. I'll just stick that in my bag o tricks. Thanks man!
Thanks for checking out my video! I’m glad you found that useful 🙂 take care
Great video Mike cant wait to see the next one
Thank you!
You are one of the easiest guys building one-off vehicles to watch and follow. You are not an egomaniac which makes seeing the hurdles you face honest and realistic. All of us who build vehicles have moments of failure which is why we've learned what we have and makes it possible for us to design and build through our learned ups and downs. I just want to say thanks for showing us your methods and ideas in real-time.
Thank you Steve! I really appreciate your comment 👍 Haha yes keeping it practical and realistic is key over this series I have had countless comments of people telling me I should have done this or that and most of there suggestions would have been completely unrealistic to finance, Working on a budget is a part of my life and I think it keeps you grounded.
I would enjoy hearing about some of your builds. 🙂
@@Mikefestiva Thanks, Mike. I've been building tools equipment, and different types of vehicles all my life out of necessity, and the love of it. Raised on Our Family Dairy Farm and then ventured out into the world quite young I found I had skills I didn't know I had. I am a country boy through and through, live in the bush in a log cabin, have a restored century-old sawmill, a completely outfitted mechanical shop, woodworking shop, and metal shop all built over years but had lost everything twice due to fires and started from scratch, each time. Live and learn, persevere, and follow your passion is my way of living. I need very little, I scape through, and collect stuff other people throw out to repurpose it. Bikes Hot Rods, Rat Rods, Karts, and Buggies, you name it I've tried it and have had as many successes as failed attempts. Keep on keeping on Mike, it's awesome to see you build with passion and purpose.
im loving this project, its looking great
Thanks 👍
this is gonna wind up being better than anything you could've bought, for any price. no one builds equipment strong and tough like this anymore. awesome job! golf clap all around.
I only subscribed the other day because it took CZcams forever to recommend your channel. This is the second series I’ve watched and I’m hooked. There great to watch. Thanks.
Thanks for subscribing recently Dan I really appreciate it 👍
@@Mikefestiva I look forward to seeing your future videos.
I am still enjoying your build buddy. I can't wait to se more. Sorry about your pupper. I too had to put my old boy down just last October. The world would be perfect if kids would stay little and good dogs lived forever.
Those pcs are works of art!! You cant buy anything that heavy duty!! Awesome!!
Thanks Pat 👍 I really appreciate it 🙂
RIP Sully.
Great video!
That Langmuir table seems to do a really nice job. For what it costs compared to others definitely seems like a good buy and with me just starting out on one it's not a over the top investment. Seen they have a little bigger pro table coming out
Sorry to hear about your puppy. We all tend to love our pets, they truly become members of the family.
As for the joint, that thing looks very stout indeed. Nice work!
Thanks for your nice comment, Sully was a good boy and will be missed, but he lived a good life and got to run free ever day around in the woods. Thanks for commenting and checking out my new video 👍 it’s going to be solid 🙂
Looks like a proper hinge to me. It's better to overbuild a little so it doesn't fall apart later on.
I appreciate your "get it done with what's one hand" approach
I came for the design and metal fab. I stayed for the funky drum beats.
Love this build😁🖑
Mike, your approach to videos is great. The introduction at the beginning telling us what's in the video is very appreciated. Everything else is top notch as well. Keep it up and thanks for sharing.
Thank Kevin 👍 I really appreciate that 🙂
So many things to comment about in just one vid! First, my apologies for mentioning the pooch in the previous video, just to find out that he had passed. Sorry for your family’s loss. Second, that is a sweet lathe! Third and final for now, great trick finding center on your round piece in the drill press with the use of a scale! I use that method to set a cutter height on the lathe, but haven’t thought to bring that same trick to a drill before!
This is brilliant and it’s filling the hole that project Binky has left in my heart, subscribed.
Thanks for sharing & giving me some good ideas for a project I put on hold that needs articulation also. I'm so very sorry for the loss of Sully Man, my sincere condolences to you & your Family during this most difficult time. I'm 55 now & have been thru it several times & I know how devastating it is on the whole Family. I'll say some prayers for y'all & Sully Man
Thank you very much, I really appreciate your comment 🙂 Sully was a good Boy and he will be missed. Take care
This is going to be so awesome cant wait to see it done
Wow, your engineering and fab skills are on point!
Thank you! I appreciate it 😊👍
Just a tip, to break chips properly with those carbide inserts you will need to increase your depth of cut and adjust your feed speeds. Those inserts generally like a 30 to 40 ish thousandths depth of cut and a decent feed speed. A chainsaw injury isn't as horrific as a gash made by some stringy chips.
Sorry to hear your dog passed on, they are like family ,like your work great job.
Awesome work! Everything looks super beefy. How long do those tips last you
Thanks! Yes it’s definitely going to be a solid machine when it’s finished 😂
I get a lot of cuts out of the consumables, piercing metal is what really cuts down on the life of the tips, I think I have gone through four sets of consumables since I got my torch, but keep in mind, I have probably cut a few hundred feet of Aluminum and steel at the full 45 amps. Here’s a tip if you need to pierce though anything thicker then 1/4” and you can’t start from the edge of the sheet, drill a small hole through the metal and start your cut from there, it will save you from burning up your tips. Thank for checking out my video 👍 Ps dude the truck that you are building your sister is turning out rad! The frame looks really quality! I’m looking forward to seeing your next video.
That Articulating joint looks so cool some serious engineering there and overkill is never a bad thing
Thanks Jesse 👍 It took a lot of time designing it but it turned out good!
I use this articulating dump truck almost daily 🙂
@@Mikefestiva Im loving your videos and the drum breaks, Drummers unite.
Sorry for your pup, it always hard. Great build so far, can't wait for the next one.
Your drummer playing is flawless
Sorry to hear about losing your Sully, great video!
Great video and build Mike! Thank you so much for the shout out! Already have gained several subscribers. You are really putting that plasma table to work. I think my wife is having more fun with my Crossfire than I am (she is an electrical engineer and loves doing the drawings and technical advise for me). I have 5 boys and that kind of stuff has happened to me several times 🤣. If you ever get time to experiment with blacksmithing hit me up I'll help any way I can. Take care.
Thanks for checking out my video! No problem, I really like your channel and I would like others to see it too 👍 That’s great your wife is having fun programming parts for your table, I’m surprised when my girlfriend actually watches one of my new videos haha, I don’t think she would ever even look at the Fusion program or even come down to the shop to see my table running. Sounds like you have a really good wife there 👍
I appreciate the offer on blacksmithing.
Take care my friend
@@Mikefestiva yes I'm very blessed my wife is amazing.
great build.i hope you are making a log book on all the purchased part #s...it would make it much easier for maintenance down the road.
Sorry to hear about your dog. I hate to even think about it.
When I look at your projects, I'm always impressed by your engineering. Most guys do pretty sketchy stuff.
Nice lathe! I'd been looking for 1 1/2 years and the PERFECT lathe popped up. I called right when I saw it and it was gone. Figured that was enough and bought a new one. Oh well..
Thanks for the vids!
Excellent video Mike! Looking forward to the next one. That hinge is beefy but i think it was a good move. There will be a huge amount of stress on it, especially when your wheels articulate and it gets a torsion load. Too much to comment, your fabrication, the drums, the beats, your editing,.. awesome! Rip Sully..
Thanks for checking out my new video! Yes I think being a bit over built in this hinge joint is a good thing, it’s going to carry a lot on it and I definitely don’t want it bending or breaking.
I really appreciate your nice comment, Thanks 🙂
Mike can't wait for the next video. Your fab, CAD, and CAM skills are very good. When welding always plan for steel movement especially where parts will rotate over other plates. I tack little braces to keep plates parallel during weld ups. I don't know how you find time with a 3 year old, but glad you do.
VERY COOL articulation joint. Live watching the build. BTW, I've had 16 year olds crank my regulators WIDE OPEN!😠
I built and setup a plasma shape cutter 40 years ago where I was working. Long story. I don't have the drive I had back then anymore. I really enjoy and appreciate your informative videos.
Sympathies with the dog mate.
Your pivot is monumental, I'm really interested in seeing what this turns into.
Love Your content man.. We definitely need more drum solos as fill music!
Haha right on! Thanks for checking out my new video and commenting 👍 I think I will put a short drum break in each video in this series 🙂
Another great video. That jount is built like a tank. 🤘 I like the jams too
Awesome.. On your bushing Zirc fittings, cut a grove on your lathe around the pin aligned with the grease hole, it will help distribute the grease 360 degrees around your pin, otherwise when you when you apply grease it will take a very long time for the grease to make it around the pin...
RIP Sully
Good progress. That plasma table is a game changer
Yesssssss!!!! Another new video!!!! I hope life doesn't bog you down too much to share your build with us, but we all know how life loves to stick to the plan. Lol!
And that articulated joint is a thing of beauty!!!! 😍😍😍
Thanks for checking out my new video 👍 life can get busy at times but I just keep on keeping on Haha I’m definitely going to keep the videos coming! I really appreciate your comment, Thanks 🙂
As I like to say...... Just keep swimming. Haha!!
And damn...... I'm sorry about your family member passing. It sucks losing the family pet that's really more family than pet.
Having the CNC really helps with producing some professional looking pieces - what a difference from the hacking & splicing I have to do on things. Not saying, just preparing my justifications. :-)
Free steel... its like gold, im building a tire hammer for black smithing and get steel from a buddy who sells all kinds of crap, he goes to auctions and brings back anything and everything.. sorry about your dog man, the saw mill was put on hold, got the blacksmithing bug...
Mike , for future projects that require the use of Articulation Joints you might want to check out Salvage Yards that scrap out old Mining machinery , as there is a lot of equipment that use Articulation Joints . Everything from small Mancarriers , to Scoop Trams , to large Front Loaders . -- < Doc , Retired Miner / Union Certified Top Millwright - Senior Underground Mine Maintenance Mechanic > .
Nice. I am sure back in the day you would have loved going to Boeing Surplus in Kent and drooling over the machinery they had. I still have a pair of $120 fabric scissors they sold for 80 cents as scrap stainless steel. :-)
Sorry for the loss of your furry family member , I know how tuff that is.
As always amazing fabrication 👍
Nice drumming 👍
Right on thanks 😊
Hi Mike,
I know you probably seen these guys channel already, but you guys are doing very similar things.
Grind Hard Plumbing
They are fabricate basically ground up just like you, using motorcycle engines.
Their latest build is 100 horsepower 4 x 4..... Using a KTM bike engine.
You have mind-blowing skills my friend.
I'm very adept with tools and building things and you lost me
From the get-go.
Take care and thanks for the great content.
Man, you had a lot going on, my condolences for your dog, and you still put out another video. I am humbled that you chose to persevere and share this with us, thank you...
I should be putting in my order for a Crossfire Pro in the next few days. I'll definitely use your promo code. You are the reason that I even know about Langmuir Systems. I'll be sure to let them know.
Loved the drum-in-the-shop interlude, rock on!
really enjoy watching your vids , wish you were my neighbor i think we would get along just fine. i wish was little younger i think i would be making something along the same line thank you for mirroring myself. thanks again,
Great work! If you havent seen Donn DIY i really recomend his channel, awsome fabricator and great filming! RIP Sully you a good boy.
RIP Sully...
Thank you 🙂
Nothing against others sharing ideas, which often can be helpful, "but", I've found that can throw us off on a project and definitely complicate "our" project and sometimes leads us to either wasting time if not back away from our own perfectly good ideas and sometimes we don't even finish the project. Your smart. I trust you. Stay on track young brother.👍
Hi Mike, this build is going to be better than I thought. I also like to watch Diy Don he is building an 8 wheeler tracked vehicle. Sorry to hear about the dog
Thanks for checking out my new video! Yes Donn DIY builds some really cool things, I have been enjoying his tracked vehicle!
Mike, your fabrication skills are off the chart!looks like u got that little CNC table figured out well. That was one big man helping u at HF loading the pickup, lol! I like the old trick when u used a piece of shim to find center on a piece of round stock, before drilling.Vids are very good, not boring, and show lots of tips to people that want to do projects.Keep up the great work!
keep up the good work! cant wait to see how it is finished.
Thanks for checking out my new video 👍 I was happy to see you started posting videos again! Definitely keep them coming. Take care my friend 🙂
Mike, I believe I recognize your harbor Freight location, I have been watching a good amount of your videos and never realized you are in the same town, I think.
You on Facebook?
Hey Mike, Great video again, thanks for sharing ! This tractor is going to be amazing i'm sure of that, i'm following the build !!
The drums is a good addition i think, please keep it in next videos :)
Sorry for Sully ;(
Our old Labrador passed away last year too, 13 years of true friendship, i know the feeling, sadly.
Cheers from France
That Plasma cutter is really nice can make about anything with it. I would have to make do with what I could find at the store, band saw, cut off saw, etc... Great job... I will have to consider saving for one.
So cool to see this come together! You got chops on those drums too! Great video dude, stoked for the next one!
You've built saw mill, tractor carry all, ATV dump beds, now an articulated tractor might I suggest building some adaptability in to your future project to fit attachments😉
Snow plow/blower like garden tractor attachments
Sorry about the dog. One tip hwen cutting thick stuff on the plasma is to drill a hole at the pierse point to eliminate blowbak
My first CZcams video of the day thanks for posting man!
Thanks for checking my video out👍
Great work !!!
The Langmuir Crossfire table and lathe in the hands of a master is amazing! Amazing - this channel needs more subs! It's up there with TOT, Mustie1 and Andrew Camarata - hit that sub!!!!
Thanks for commenting, I really appreciate it! That’s a really nice compliment to be compared to those channels 👍
Your videos keep getting better and better! Keep it up!
Best part is the drums, personally I wish there were more drum solos in the videos.
Right on! I will definitely include a drum break in each video in this series 👍 thanks for mentioning it 🙂
Excellent looking work ! Good job!
Grind hard plumbing co is a great channel
Yes definitely! I really like there channel.
I mentioned these two channels to try and help out the smaller CZcams channels, yes my channel is also small and if I can get others to see these channels and subscribe it would be helpful, CZcams really supports and promotes Big CZcams channels but really don’t do much for small channels like mine and moto mule and Refiner’s Forge. Take care
My condolences to you for the loss of your beloved dog. May he rest in peace 🙏
Glad you and yours are feeling better, miss my dog also, anyway great video and can't wait for more!
Thank you for the shout out Mike!! Wait til you see the next Grave Digger Video... 😁 Side 2 of it has a tombstone with your name on it!!! Do you instagram?? Couldn't find you on there. Sorry to hear about your dog.
Im happy to be able to give you and Refiner’s Forge a shout out, you guys both do really nice work. Haha I get a tombstone!!! NICE 👍 Thanks for checking out my video I’m looking forward to seeing your next video! I should make a Instagram account sometime, it could probably help to grow my channel.
Yes Sully was a good shop dog we had some good times, but at least he went quickly, it was not all drawn out, that’s probably the best way to go.
Take care my friend 🙂
If you can find some scrap electric ovens you can add the ability to do powder coating in the shop. Electric oven heating elements and an external controller for temperature and then just need an insulated box to mount it in to bake the powder coating in.
Where did you learn how to do all does things? Whats your job... Great work... Very talented person💪💪
Yeah most things in the auto industry is metric but I agree there almost impossible to find metric stuff now days it's odd most places have Sae standard imperial
Coming along great
Loving that plasma table
In the background I saw a homemade tank track thing.
Haha you have a good eye! Yes that’s a test experiment, I started on a mini excavator project for my son a while back, those are some possible tracks for it. I really need to get back on that project for him. I think my new CNC table will really help out on that mini digger machine. Thanks for checking out my new video Andy 🙂
Sorry to hear about your dog .
I'm very sad for that
Thank you 🙂
The sad thing about those old Russian tractors were, if anyone from the Soviet government found them, they would be confiscated as Soviet property. Found this out after reading a build from someone in the old Com-Bloc. I do like how these things never really went away. I found old plans for a Pow'r Pup tractor from the 1950s from Popular Mechanics I think. Basically take a 5hp horizontal engine and use a 3 speed from a Model A and a Model A rear end and build a tractor from that. Since the John Deere L and LA were too expensive to buy back then.
Love your channel brother!
If you have time could you make a basic sketch of your plans/design it would be good if we could see the details of how everything connects and how it will work.
Great skills. Sorry about the loss of your puppers.
Mike great video!! The plasma table is a dream of mine, just intimidated by the computer side of it. Is the laptop hard to learn.
Hey John thanks for checking out my new video 👍
I’m not the most computer savvy guy but I was able to figure it out. I will post a video in the future on programming a part, posting the G code and showing the process of cutting it out. The drawing program Fusion 360 seems intimidating at first but once you learn the basics it’s fairly simple to get around in. I think I could make a fairly helpful video on that, but I’m sure there will be many trolls making comments about how I really should do it, that’s the biggest downside of CZcams is the people that will never make or post a video seem to be the biggest critics.
Take care 🙂
Love all your videos. You're a talented dude! Keep it up.
Thumbs up #107 Mike! Keep an eye out... that new Vulcan Pro Tig 205 comes out sometime this month!!!
I have been checking the HF web site every few days to see if it’s available yet,
I told one of the main guys at HF welding development team that I really would like to try one out and compare it to the ProTig 200 and I didn’t really get the feeling they would let me check one out 🤷🏻♂️ I really would like to try one and do a review but it’s hard to drop $1000 on a AC TIG welder when I have one that works fine for me.
All the welders I have done reviews on in the past I bought out of pocket and I needed them or wanted to try them out to see how good they welded, I have all the welders I really need but who knows maybe I will buy the New ProTig 205??? Man I just don’t need two AC TIG welders though Haha!!! Take care Joe and happy new year 👍
It's probably good that you oversized the frame pivot. My dad had a 1970s Toyota long wheel base that was lifted. One day we decided to haul a 4×5 round bale and broke it in half just like the picture you showed. Had to drive it all the way home with the bed dragging the road. Kind of looked like a inch worm pulsing back and forth.
Man that sucks! It’s a Toyota and still got you home Haha. Yes I think going extra solid in the joint is a good thing 👍 thanks for commenting Jake.
Sorry for your loss!✨🦮❤️🇺🇸
Thank you Jeffery 🙂
