Im excited for this new chapter. I've been a Washington fan for 37 years and never imagined Magic Johnson owning the franchise that I pledge my allegiance to. Ill be at the game on Sunday and i really hope to see Josh and Magic there.
Magic was on the board at One United Bank until the chairman insulted him by being condescending and Magic pulled his money out and quit the board. I've loved him since 1978. Those Spartan and Lakers teams were awesome. He's a great guy.

Wish they had asked about being drafted and signed by Jack Kent Cooke and now owning a piece of the franchise Cooke sold the Lakers to purchase majority ownership in!
That’s what I thought as well but then I looked it up. he sold the lakers to Jerry Buss to pay his ex wife in a divorce. He was already a minority owner of the Redskins since the mid 70’s and didn’t become majority owner until 1985.
Cooke became Majority owner of Skins in 1974, became sole owner in 1985 but had to sale Lakers because NFL didn’t allow majority ownership of NBA, MLB back when the Big 3 where fighting to find the road to the financial revenue of today. Cooke negotiated Magic’s 1st NBA contract. Magic is quoted in his autobiography MY Life Earvin “Magic” Johnson with William Novak 1992 that he wanted Cooke to pay for him to finish his degree and Cooke said he was paying Magic well enough to pay for his own degree. Even the Winning time show had Buss, Magic and Magic’s dad at Jack Kent Cooke house/dinner table after the draft! Trust me.
