I bought this Tactix 7 pro and I have no regrets. I use it daily even when I go to sleep to track my sleeping pattern. It’s has a great MTB mode and the supporting app is also great. Never needed to charge daily and that is a boon.

Great video! I love the Garmin products and have upgraded as each Fenix has come out. I now have the Tactix Pro 7. I love this watch and the nylon strap is great. Overall a great watch for outdoors types and for tracking fitness. I spend a lot of time in deep woods and keep signal with All & Multibands. The only time I have lost it is in the thickest overhead tree cover when there are thick thunder clouds (luckily I am retired military and know how to use a contour map and compass). The only thing I am disappointed in is the inconsistant heart rate monitoring. I also do a lot of cardio and can acurately estimate my heart rate. The watch is inconsistant. For example, when going up a certain hill near my house, I know my HR is about 130. The watch will be much lower. I have read that the watch HR catches up but it never does come even close. I have compared it to using mapmyride with a chest strap and get an accurate rate. I have taken all the recommended steps (tightness, placement of watch) with little improvement. I have experienced this with all my Garmin watches. Anyone have any tips?
with display always on, how long do u get with battery life?
I’ve read that the solar tech in the screen makes it a bit more dim than the standard Tactix 7. Hope this helps someone.

Cancelled AW Ultra and ordered Garmin Tactix. Good choice, I believe!
I’d agree, esp if your more fitness, activity and navigation based. The aw isn’t quiet there yet. Still a cool looking watch thought. Imo

I find them really good too and you can load in additional maps if you want which is handy

Update firmware 13.22 : Garmin has changed the backlight behavior :
" The new backlight behavior is the intended result for the v13.22 software update.
For example - the backlight will turn on when:
- Acquiring GPS to start an outdoor activity or when acquiring GPS to save a location waypoint.
- Viewing the Map whether by itself as a feature or within an activity.
- Going into the Sunrise & Sunset glance and viewing the Sun position menu on the map."
With this, Garmin has made this actually tactical watch unusable for the military, because there is no option to disable this. I look at the map in the field and give away my position by the light. Life threatening.
The problem is discussed in the forum, and Garmin's statement: "This backlight behavior is intentional and we have no plans to change it.
Love the watch but my only gripe is the titanium bezel gets easily marked/scuffed on mine!

It’s pretty much the same outside of a few additional tactical features on the tactix 7
Hello I have question regarding ABC widget. Are you able to set units (feet or meters) in altimeter? In mine Garmin Tactix 7 Pro Im not able to set units in ABC widget. Its possible to set only via System-Format-Units. If I want to change units in altimeter via ABC widget its not possible. I remember in the previous model Tactix Delta it was possible to change in Altimeter via ABC widget.
Is it possible to do geocaching with the watch ?

I have a 7 inch wrist. I don’t think there would be much discounts on this one but who knows. Should at least be able get 10% off

How long last your batery?On my one with all of gadjets is 11days.
I get about 2 weeks with current use. But will depend on what you have turned on, how often you train, screen brightness and backlight settings etc
Does anyone know if this will function after being in salt water and sandy conditions?
Just give it a quick wash after either condition and all good. It’s a tank

What is the difference bettwen tactix 7 pro ballistics edition vs tactix 7 pro?
One just comes with the ballistics pro software/app. Only worth considering if you use that for shooting

Works perfect with Revolut. Was on holidays in Portugal last week and all worked perfect paying without having my phone or wallet
Oh interesting I’ve not used Revolut do you just link account and load Revolut onto the watch ?
I use it a lot but yeah you basically top it up by linking your bank when you want to add money too it. Garmin pay may work with other banks, this is just what I have used

Is the battery on this watch replaceable?
I would not say it is user replaceable but I’m sure if you knew what you were doing or through Garmin you could. Plus the recharge cycle of these batteries are very infrequent (once a month) it would be many years before the battery got so bad you would be even considering replacement

The only drawback of the watch is the display
Yeah compared to an Apple Watch or Garmin epix it is not as good. In saying that after coming from the Apple Watch I have no issues with this display and for the battery life it gives me I wouldn’t go back.
If you think the display is a drawback, then it’s clear you don’t understand the purpose of the display.
Not everyone wants an annoying gesture to see what time it is, or the abysmal battery life that comes with such a display.
This is a watch, not an iPad.
I had to return mine because the screen looks too dim even on high brightness. The screen looks very reflective its hard to see anything. I am sure it has to do with the sapphire glass. I got the Fenix 7x instead without sapphire glass and the clarity is way better. Anybody else had the same issue??
look at time stamp 6:00 on this video to know what I am talking about. its too bad the tactic is not offered without sapphire glass.
The standard Tactix 7 is said to have a more clear screen.
