    I have little oil in the intake. 987.2 PDK has 40k miles on it, have recently installed a catch can too. Season is over now, but lets see next year how much oil it cateches up. Drove 200 miles this season only. you know...home office, because of some deseas which was told to go around.

      I’m sure you’ll always get a little, just the nature of the motor. Glad it’s in there and not in the motor though. Specially with any DI motors!

      Nico Bekaert I have white smoke all the time. When I do catless we’ll see how bad it is and what color it is.

    Are you ever having to top off the oil between changes?

    • @neckofthewoods24
      @neckofthewoods24  Před 4 lety

      Joe K when I first got it the oil was just changed but I never checked the level. About 3,000 miles later I got a low oil warning light. I put a half quart in to fix it. When I changed it I filled it up to the second to top line. We’ll see what happens now. Porsche says burning 1 quart is normal between changes.

    pointless mod..just let it burn off.
    The mod itself probably drags more oil in
    OR just an idea : let it warm up more before you rev the engine
    My 987 looses no oil over 5000 km. including track days : Because I let it warm up.
    100 k miles, factory AOS.. no oil loss , so no oil burnt.

      It’s not pointless if it’s letting oil out and getting to the intake. It’s also a DI motor, there is no way to burn it up as it coats your intake and valves since it’s introduced before the combustion chamber. My runners and valves were filthy on my 370z with very little miles. After e85 they were spotless since it’s not a DI motor and the fuel cleans everything. If you have no loss at those miles, congrats. Not the case for 99% of the others. At this point it doesn’t matter what you do, your motor is well beyond break in. Sounds like the original owner broke it in correctly for you.
