  • This is the follow up video to How I do my sprayout cards. The colour is Seat L0X1 Desire red. This is a tinted clear colour which is a specialised analon dye that's added to lacquer to create a candy red paint finish
    similar to spraying a three / 3 stage pearl they require an undercoat and the candy is the effect coat

    Hey Paul, finally got round to watching this and have to say it was worth the wait as it's a first class finish and came out looking very flat and clean. 👏👍
    I think you saw my first ever effort spraying a 3 stage, mine was the 46V Soul Red Crystal which is very similar to the Desire Red you did here, I was quite pleased with how it came out but wasn't nothing like you did here mate, I will do some more 3 stage soon as I need the practice 🤓😲😂

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Howard, the tint is Standox's clear additive ka672 and ka673 these are analon dyes I believe Custom painters refer to them a candy concentrates. I'll be glad to do a video next time we mix one up. Thanks

    Hi paul, loving this. I’m getting a lot of knowledge from your videos that i was previously unable to get while training. You make everything very easy to understand and for that I’m very thankful! Just curious what the process is for your blow in’s on the posts for this job? Also would you do much smart repair work? Thanks!

      @paulphillipspaintwork  Před rokem

      Hi Craig, I really appreciate it 👍
      On the posts, I just pull the bagging back slightly and apply an aerosol fade out thinner. (The Standox one we use is very good)
      We get smart repair work every now and again, but I work in an insurance bodyshop so we get all kinds of repairs. I do have a couple of smart repair videos a while back that might be good to watch. Thanks again 👍

    Are the Walcom's your using the older style of the Carbonio 360 and not the more recent Light models. The reason I suspect this is that they have the color rings around the aircap. Do you know why the new models don't have the color ring? I do. SATA sued them as they claimed copyright infringement since they use green and blue to distinguish between the HVLP and the RP. Nothing too trivial for the German's to complain about.

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  Před 2 lety

      Hi, yes these are the older versions. That's interesting to know I thought they took the coloured rings off to save weight for the light versions of the guns. I do think they look better without but like how easy it is to distinguish between what gun you want to use. When I used Devilbiss I was constantly putting base coat in my clear gun because I got a full set of blue guns and they basically all looked the same.

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Jay, it's not needed as much. I only used it on those awkward colours and really corse metallics. But you can use it with any colour until your comfortable with 90 line. You can blend into it wet or let it flash off. Corse colours I would do wet the same a spies.
