I fully support the extension of the railway. It will be a great attraction for the town of Bala and its shops and people. I'll be making a donation. Very best wishes. Bob Shell.

I wish you success and hope all goes well it makes real sense for Bala, the locals and the visitors like myself.

100% behind this and as a frequent visitor I can only see the benefits. The national park are being very short sighted and they knew the plans years ago. Bala should get its railway it will only be a benefit to the area. I don't remember the WHR getting any knock backs and that virtually runs through the centre of the national park.

Or of course, the powers that be could force the water companies to fix and upgrade their sewerage systems to 21 century standards. Then the local people could see the benefits of a better tourist offering as more people are able to enjoy the national park. Just a thought!

I think this needs to go to the government as they can over rule the National Park!

If the planning application for the railway to run into Bala had been submitted when the railway first opened 50 years ago it would have sailed through but waiting until the industrial park was built over the trackbed along with other development it was always doubtful if it could be done. Bala junction never had road access access to the town was always by railway which ran through to Ffestiniog. My brother and I travelled this line many times up until it’s closure.even then a push pull single carriage train ran from the junction to Bala town station until the final closure of the Barmouth Wrexham line in 1965.

Must’ve been absolutely gut wrenching for all those involved when the application was rejected, so much work gone into it and you have to start again. I hope the authorities will see sense this time and give the project the go ahead, good luck!

Great update- very well done. I hope the powers that be see sense next time round. All the very best, and I'll be making a donation to the cause.

Nearly all the railroads in my neighborhood are standard gauge, yet I find it fascinating how narrow a gauge will support a practical railway. 1 ft. 11-5/8 in. gauge is amazingly workable.

Many years of allowing pollution is NO reason to prohibit the railway extension...I see Wales complaining about lack of investment.....this is a chance for extra income....

It can only be good for the town , nobody wants to polute the waters, surely we have to move with the times and more services need to put in place to treat the sewage, to say restrict visitors because we already have polluted the waters is outrageous. !

Why is the sewage going into the river anyway? That’s the problem that needs sorting
