I don't really wanna sit in a machine all day I'd rather get my hands dirty and be outside

Thanks Reg, You give me the confidence that when you need to take your time, just take your time. I often feel like i need to pick up the pace when im slow stepping up to a dead top in a tree, and thats purely just for the sake of the employer or other people i may be working with but at the end of the day when your life is on the line to ensure the safety of others by removing hazard trees like that, there is nothing wrong with taking all the time you need to do the job safetly. You inspire me more then any other climber, Much Respect. And Thank you.
I love how you mitigate the risk by installing supports on ascent. I know many would of just takin the risk, but I respect your thought process more. No sense in taking stupid risk, when you can minimalize the risk. Great work 👍
I like how you take the extra time to take added safety precautions and think things through. I did a removal a few years back, some skinny trees leaning over a shed and they were still in fairly good condition I believe, but we decided to add a support system by anchoring them to a large maple nearby just for the added support because of the lean and the size of the spars and the fact we had to climb high to speed line the tops over the garage. As a climber whether you’re working for a company or you have your own operation, you’re in charge and should do what you feel comfortable with to be safe. Don’t skip steps just because the ground crew might be rushing you or the boss wants you to hurry up.
When I used to do tree work many years ago I used to hate dead wood with a vengeance. Unpredictable and predictably is your friend. Top notch work sir as usual, careful and methodical.

Many of us could work a lifetime in the trees and not acquire the level of confidence to scale and take one down in this condition. Learning about this trade is an endless endeavor, but it is only with experience and touching the trees can you navigate and execute a project like this with your level of confidence. It takes a lot of finesse to know just how much to tighten those ratchet straps given that union you had to climb so far past. I’m impressed! And yes please people, call us before the trees have mushrooms growing out of them!

Amazing work, thank you for sharing. I have a 70’ maple near my house. I have to finish taking down. It has two dead leaders just like this tree had, and was wondering how the heck I was going to go about getting it down the rest of the way.
Enjoyed the video. Excellent planning and process. I carry the same straps in my rigging gear. Come in handy many times for various uses. That was a very adventurous climb. Stabilizing with the straps, double tie in, adding the additional remote anchor above your regular anchor, hand controlling cut limbs, utilizing stubs in addition to spurs....Kudos to you for the well thought out takedown of a very dead, linear cracked Fir. 👍👋✌

I always thought throwing in a redirect you’re applying more compression force instead of horizontal pulling force which in my mind also makes me feel a lot better being tied into something dead and skinny 👊💯 thank u sir! Keep it up!!!
You have to have some serious confidence in your self and that dead wood. That looked real brittle. I am on the East Coast and we don't have that species of fur here. Great job!! I think I counted about 4 seconds for a limb to hit the ground. I my butt was puckering when you took those tops.
