0:15 I legitimately got chills during this moment. We know John has a terrifying reputation, and we had gone through two entire movies seeing why that is, but it's this moment right here that shows you just how infamous he truly is. An entire party, no doubt filled with people every bit as powerful and ruthless as Santino, grinds to a halt just because they saw John Wick, as if the Grim Reaper himself had just manifested right in front of them. *Everyone* knows who he is. And *everyone* knows what's about to happen.
Reading this gave me chills man
Same here , chilllls
True,,, but the fact that at 0.33 John is out of ammo. And a guy who then could have killed him charges at him with a loaded gun, for no reason. Took me out the illusion a bit 🤣
It's like that scene in Halo 2 (ironically enough, Another John) when Chief Just drops into the middle of the Prophets chamber, says "Boo" and scares a grunt so bad he steals their weapon.
Hell, John might be more Feared than Chief.
Also remember this is a John Wick who’s been retired and out of the game until a week or so ago at this point. And he still inspires that fear. I like to say: You don’t know fear until you’ve met John Wick
2:47 Just seeing John rack the slide back with one hand shows how much of a badass he is! Never seen anyone do that but man that’s impressive!
He’s performing a press check with one hand after already racking the slide, both to check the first round has chambered and because it looks slick as hell.
The best part about that is it’s 100% practical why he’s doing that. He has an affinity for kimber brand 1911’s and they have a tendency to have feeding issues and jam. So he’s checking his chamber to make sure he’s ready to go
That isnt only badass but gives a big realism to that scene. An M1911 is known for the first bullet easily getting jammed, so he just checked it if its ready to fire.
I think the best part about that press check was that it wasn't scripted. Muscle memory just kicked in.
I'm curious though, why does he do it one handed and not with his other hand?

I love how instead of reloading, John just takes their guns.
Well remember that his first gun from the Bowery King only had seven bullets to begin with. Once he used up all those right at the beginning, he had to take from the henchmen. And just taking guns was the faster, more efficient option in the middle of the gunfight.
Reloading takes time ⏲️
switch to your other weapon its faster than reloading
Man's playing Gun-Game irl 💀
Imagine the relief those two bodyguards felt when Santino asked them to escort him.
2:47 The hand technique is called a press check. Naturally, the bullet should be chambered when the gun is cocked. However, he is using the "foreign" magazine. Like its name, the magazine isn't built specifically for his Kimber model but for its other variants. Though the foreign magazine holds the same caliber bullet, there might be a small modification or customization done to the magzaine. If so, it might lead to a chambering failure.

@@mopomasa4427 well actually he also stole other's handguns if you looked closely
Doesn’t look like an extended mag. But I can safely say he is using a 9mm since that can hold around 15-16 rounds +1 in the chamber. The guns that they are using look to be like glock 17-20’s so it’s reasonable to say since 90% of California carries mostly glocks.
MopoMasa it’s a G17 so it’s around 17+1 rounds and you can get extra rounds in a magazine if you upgrade it

I always thought it was a plot hole (or continuity error) that John pulls out the Pistol from behind his back at 2:40, But then I realised... He press checks it to make sure the round feeds, which is a common issue with the 1911, the same pistol he started the fight with (using 7 rounds). He kept the 1911 after the first takedown, because it's the better pistol than those he's been picking up (presuming modified by Bowery King to John's standards), he was just waiting for another oppo who had a 1911, so he could take the mag.

John YEET
I like how even during intense scenes, the chorgraphers and directors make sure to add a bit of humour here and there.
What I love is the sheer mechanical precision he shows. For 90% of the kills it's one in the chest, one in the head, like clockwork. If he can't guarantee a chest shot would incapacitate enough for a head shot, he goes for a shot to the leg or other extremity and gets in close for the kill. Just realizing he trained for months to shoot with this kind of precision is terrifying.
Unfortunately, John Wick 3 almost doesn't have this kills mechanic
Not months. Years.
Also - that press check, though. This isn’t an actor playing an expert, this is an expert who also happens to be acting.
It's called the Mozambique Drill -- two to the chest, one to the head (if you notice most of the kills he actually often does two to the chest before going for the head.) It's a real technique meant to help better guarantee you stop a target as quick as possible. Keanu trained a lot with Taran Tactical doing real life shooting drills to help him be more convincing on-screen for these movies, and it shows.
@@DeathBringer769 i was just about to say this. when i went to front sight for pistol training, we did this drill. 2 to the chest and then the headshot was called failure to stop. it’s cool how such simple methods are what is used by people that are trained for stuff like this. it’s also cool that they actually used this in the movie and still made it cool. instead of it being all fake and only being headshots. even though i’m sure john wick could do that haha

@Trevor Levine he is in pain bcuz he got shot in the abdomen
@No one getting shot in the stomach hurts. I'll give a pass on that one.
It’s enjoyable and very well choreographed, but it’s not intense because it doesn’t elicit any emotional investment in any of the characters and the score is too generic. Don’t get me wrong I like it, but I don’t feel anything when I watch it, I just watch it and admire the choreography. I don’t come away from the films feeling any different though, like I would with similar action flicks like the film ‘Nobody’ for example.
@@joecraven2712 it leaves that impression of intensity cause the movie isn’t cut to trash. One cut maybe every 10 sec makes the scene more intense cause the viewer gets every detail in the fight. Love the fact, that even though the enemies are down, John always shoots their heads just to ensure they are down for good.
I really love how they portrayed Santino as a dude with a huge ego who thinks he can take on John. Like right before the shooting happens in the stare down, Santino looks really badass with his glare, but as soon as John pulls his gun out, Santino runs away and places his guards to protect himself. It really shows his character: all for show on the outside with his dad’s power that was left behind for his sis (now him) and on the inside he’s just a coward and is probably scared beyond belief from John. Also this is shown by his really cheeky attacks against John: blowing up his house, having a huge contract for all of NY to take, etc., they’re all sucker punches. Glad to see John put one in between Santino’s eyes after he basically said he would stay in the continental forever. You can’t outplay the Devil with mortal rules.
I’d have loved to see his reaction to finding out that not only is John still alive but took on the high tables inquisitors (the guys in the full body armour that attack the continental in parabellum, I can’t remember if they had a name or if one was stated but given the religious vernacular used inquisitors suits them perfectly) and survived
@@dionjaywoollaston1349 Yea, the armored guys the High Table sends after John and the Continental crew in general? They (Charon) just called them "High Table Forces" in the movie.
@@DeathBringer769 ohh i still think inquisitors suits them perfectly
That last sentence actually sounds badass
When your friend tells everyone about your secret crush:
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Yep id rather do that too 😅
🤣🤣🤣
Everyone has to die after that point cause they know too much. But your main target is your friend
0:31 that throat punch always a badass moment but must’ve hurt like hell
At 2:40
He sees that the gun the henchman had was not the one he was using. So he throws his piece away, and pulls the one from the back for which he can get the magazine from the dead guy. And the speed with which he reloads is epic!

That combo was arousing
John Wick most lethal weapon: *Gun throw*
pencil
You would never expect it, right?
Pencil thrower
What always amazes me is how John uses his terrain to his advantage and doesn't fire until he a clear line of sight on his target.
1:02 - That super clean roll down the steps though. 🤩
I see these shooters went to the storm trooper academy for aiming. Highest marks too.
Angel Vizcaino actually John is wearing bullet proof suit
the thing is these guys didn't hit him at all, not even one scratch, when there are several moments in this clip at least that they should have
Steven Li try did tho. Rewatch the scene. He gets shot multiple times in this movie. I believe once or twice near the beginning of this scene, a couple of times during the party and catacombs scenes, and even gets wounded by a gunshot in his return to New York.
i was talking about this clip here only tho
@@StevenL00 sorry for the super late reply but he does. When hes at the stairs, he gets shot in the back which is why he decides to fall down the stairs to avoid potentially getting headshotted.
how does his shirt stay tucked in the whole time ? My shirt comes untucked when I walk from one room to the next
lol
He is doing illogical things like keeping alive after fighting dozens of men that armed to the teeth and you points out his always tucked suit. Nice
Probably shirt garters
get some shirt stays my dude. only then can you be like john wick lol
BELT
I love when the camera turns away from John but you can still here all the gunshots in the background
I love that jam check for his gun at the end, something most people wouldn't care if it wasn't there but Keanu put the detail in anyway
0:47 I think that's the calmest anyone has said "Wick is here"
He should have been screaming: Wick is here. Did you hear what I said?! JOHN WICK IS HERE!!
Just like Charles Logan was terrified of Jack Bauer in 24 season 8 😂
John Wick kills 3 men with a pencil.
Guns: _Am I a joke to you._
Aruna Solanki Ah, I See You're a Man of Culture As Well
Why can't people stop using this meme for Pete's sakes?
He has killed hundreds of people with guns. He has killed 5 people with a pencil. Your joke is pointless.
I swear wick had the best K/D Ratio ever
Book: Well he even killed a fully grown man with me so you must be a joke to him.
More than the gunfights, I just love the sounds of the guns, they just sound satisfying.
The way he whipped that gun out before going ham was insane 😂
0:18 - What anxiety feels like daily.
1:49 John Wick Chapter 4 could have 10 straight minutes of John throwing empty guns at people and I'd love every second of it
Edit: It had enough to satisfy me
I've replayed that part 15 times now. I see the appeal
