Gun: out of ammo
John Wick: Y E E T
He usually would take the gun from the goon he kills most of the time he is switching the guns
0:15 I legitimately got chills during this moment. We know John has a terrifying reputation, and we had gone through two entire movies seeing why that is, but it's this moment right here that shows you just how infamous he truly is. An entire party, no doubt filled with people every bit as powerful and ruthless as Santino, grinds to a halt just because they saw John Wick, as if the Grim Reaper himself had just manifested right in front of them. *Everyone* knows who he is. And *everyone* knows what's about to happen.
True,,, but the fact that at 0.33 John is out of ammo. And a guy who then could have killed him charges at him with a loaded gun, for no reason. Took me out the illusion a bit 🤣
It's like that scene in Halo 2 (ironically enough, Another John) when Chief Just drops into the middle of the Prophets chamber, says "Boo" and scares a grunt so bad he steals their weapon.
Hell, John might be more Feared than Chief.
Also remember this is a John Wick who’s been retired and out of the game until a week or so ago at this point. And he still inspires that fear. I like to say: You don’t know fear until you’ve met John Wick
2:47 Just seeing John rack the slide back with one hand shows how much of a badass he is! Never seen anyone do that but man that’s impressive!
He’s performing a press check with one hand after already racking the slide, both to check the first round has chambered and because it looks slick as hell.
The best part about that is it’s 100% practical why he’s doing that. He has an affinity for kimber brand 1911’s and they have a tendency to have feeding issues and jam. So he’s checking his chamber to make sure he’s ready to go
That isnt only badass but gives a big realism to that scene. An M1911 is known for the first bullet easily getting jammed, so he just checked it if its ready to fire.
I think the best part about that press check was that it wasn't scripted. Muscle memory just kicked in.
I'm curious though, why does he do it one handed and not with his other hand?
What normal people see: Trained assassins
What John Wick see: *free ammo*
Those doesn't look like trained assassins cuz if they were they would have killed john
@AR - 09WS 704501 Heart Lake SS i mean if they were actually trained it would be like 1 trained guy vs 38 trained guys so they would put at least 5 bullets at him
I love that Santino's pace quickens just a tiny bit each time he hears more gunshots.
No matter how many guards you send confront Wick, the gunshots keep sounding what means he is still alive.
@@dwightlove3704 I initially didn’t see the N so I thought you commented WAP drive and I was very confused
00:16 I love how everyone notices john and instinctively clear a path for him
He was a very famous assassin before he retired for Helen, so I supposed everyone there knew who he was and what he's about to do.
Everyone's guns: *exist*
John: It's free real estate.
1:42 "You go", he basically ordered that man a death sentence

The only guy who reloaded a gun in a movie
@@mopomasa4427 well actually he also stole other's handguns if you looked closely
Doesn’t look like an extended mag. But I can safely say he is using a 9mm since that can hold around 15-16 rounds +1 in the chamber. The guns that they are using look to be like glock 17-20’s so it’s reasonable to say since 90% of California carries mostly glocks.
MopoMasa it’s a G17 so it’s around 17+1 rounds and you can get extra rounds in a magazine if you upgrade it
The fact that Keanu Reeves can do all these trick shots in real life makes these movies all the more amazing.
0:27 **when one of your teammates realizes friendly fire is on**
Lmao, we did a Last Man Standing with our school at paintball, and some friends and I teamed up. At the ending when the three of us were left with one friend down because of a headshot and about 80 other kids and teachers out, we betrayed each other until our paint balls were out and claimed all three of us won. Gotta say, when your team suddenly decides that only one can remain, it gets super intense because of the close proximity and how good they are. Great fun tho.
that puppy must have been really cute
lewis mcbride yes but if it weren’t for that puppy in the first film none of this would have ever happened
Imagine the relief those two bodyguards felt when Santino asked them to escort him.
2:47 The hand technique is called a press check. Naturally, the bullet should be chambered when the gun is cocked. However, he is using the "foreign" magazine. Like its name, the magazine isn't built specifically for his Kimber model but for its other variants. Though the foreign magazine holds the same caliber bullet, there might be a small modification or customization done to the magzaine. If so, it might lead to a chambering failure.
++ Press check looks cool af
unlike many action film where the protagonist seems to have infinite ammo on their mag, john wick constantly reload his weapon, take the magz from fallen enemies or change his weapon
I love how instead of reloading, John just takes their guns.
Well remember that his first gun from the Bowery King only had seven bullets to begin with. Once he used up all those right at the beginning, he had to take from the henchmen. And just taking guns was the faster, more efficient option in the middle of the gunfight.

I will watch every single one of these clips simply for the fact that Keanu Reeves in in them, and he is one heckin wholesome human being.
I like how they're realistic about ammo in a mag, for example the 1911 only had 7 rounds and that's how much he fired, in other movies it would of been bottomless clip lol
Kyle Mckenzie That’s probably because Keanu Reeves is a gun owner and a competitive shooter. Unlike most Hollywood actors he actually knows guns, and probably helped insure small details like that didn’t get overlooked.
He dropped his gun when he ran out in the first place and must have switched it for P92 which holds 15 rounds

john wick: u look better with a hole in it
Yea it’s said that gunshots and wounds on your knee hurts the most so that’s why John would hit them there
1:49 I always find myself laughing uproariously at this moment.
I like how even during intense scenes, the chorgraphers and directors make sure to add a bit of humour here and there.
2:43 the best reload scene i've ever seen
U know the movie is dope when even the reload scene is so freaking cool
It's certainly cool and all, but it's purely a fanservice scene. The guard only fired twice before getting killed. John could have just looted off his gun which will be way faster.
Second only to Superman reloading his fists in Mission Impossible: Fallout...

Okay, I need some help. I've been making a kill count for the John Wick series. However, I've been doing it from gun-to-gun. For example: In the first John Wick, his H&K P30L with a custom weight compensator has 38 kills, his third generation Glock 26 has 3 kills, his Coharie Arms CA-415 has 12 kills, the DTA SRS he uses gets 4 kills, and the Kel-Tec KSG 12 gets 1 kill. But, unfortunately, I can't identify what Glock model John is using at the 2:10 part of the movie. I'm not sure if it's a Glock 17 or a Glock 19. Can anyone help me?
1:34 I actually laughed out loud the first time I saw this scene. When my Dad asked me what was so funny, I told him "All those guys are literally running to their deaths."

@@steverogers7601it happens in every dang action film. if henchmen would just keep their distance these movies would end so quick
Love how even when his weapon was empty, he used it as a weapon throwing it in close quarters.
After this clip ended I've remembered I was only watching a 3 min. clip! It's so intense no matter where or how or for how long you watch this, it's like you are in a different world!
@No one getting shot in the stomach hurts. I'll give a pass on that one.
It’s enjoyable and very well choreographed, but it’s not intense because it doesn’t elicit any emotional investment in any of the characters and the score is too generic. Don’t get me wrong I like it, but I don’t feel anything when I watch it, I just watch it and admire the choreography. I don’t come away from the films feeling any different though, like I would with similar action flicks like the film ‘Nobody’ for example.
@@joecraven2712 it leaves that impression of intensity cause the movie isn’t cut to trash. One cut maybe every 10 sec makes the scene more intense cause the viewer gets every detail in the fight. Movies like Taken 3 for example have 20 cuts within 5 sec or so. That’s why the action scenes are boring af and can’t get the viewer’s attention. No attention no intensity
John Wick is the only man where him throwing his gun makes legitimate tactical sense.
I mean, If anyone threw an empty gun at someone to distract them so they could grab another loaded gun makes perfect sense.
But unlike the idiot that moved closer I would've moved further back (mostly cuz I would've flinched like no tomorrow)
A pistol weighs around 2 pounds of average. While it doesn't seem like much, imagine throwing 2 pounds of metal at someone's face like a baseball.
Anytime John throws his gun at an enemy, always makes me laugh just because it's something my friends and I always joke about when playing shooter games together.
I'll admit, that one shot of John using 5 of the 7 bullets to drop 5 people with perfect precision is one of my favorite shots in the entire franchise.
Actually I think he used all 7 bullets on 7 people. So even more impressive
2:43 the noise you make after taking a sip of sprite
The noise that John makes when he kills people
1:40
"You and you come with me", then turns to the guard in the back "You go"
That guard, hearing Wick doing a massacre behind - "Hey, can i go with you too, please?"
Oh my god I've only now realised...
I always thought it was a plot hole (or continuity error) that John pulls out the Pistol from behind his back at 2:40, But then I realised... He press checks it to make sure the round feeds, which is a common issue with the 1911, the same pistol he started the fight with (using 7 rounds). He kept the 1911 after the first takedown, because it's the better pistol than those he's been picking up (presuming modified by Bowery King to John's standards), he was just waiting for another oppo who had a 1911, so he could take the mag.
What I love is the sheer mechanical precision he shows. For 90% of the kills it's one in the chest, one in the head, like clockwork. If he can't guarantee a chest shot would incapacitate enough for a head shot, he goes for a shot to the leg or other extremity and gets in close for the kill. Just realizing he trained for months to shoot with this kind of precision is terrifying.
Also - that press check, though. This isn’t an actor playing an expert, this is an expert who also happens to be acting.
It's called the Mozambique Drill -- two to the chest, one to the head (if you notice most of the kills he actually often does two to the chest before going for the head.) It's a real technique meant to help better guarantee you stop a target as quick as possible. Keanu trained a lot with Taran Tactical doing real life shooting drills to help him be more convincing on-screen for these movies, and it shows.
@@DeathBringer769 i was just about to say this. when i went to front sight for pistol training, we did this drill. 2 to the chest and then the headshot was called failure to stop. it’s cool how such simple methods are what is used by people that are trained for stuff like this. it’s also cool that they actually used this in the movie and still made it cool. instead of it being all fake and only being headshots. even though i’m sure john wick could do that haha
The most realistic Gun Fights with actual reloading for once.

thats model of hand gun jams alot so he was checking to see if it was jammed probably the most accurate shooting movie in history everything from guns specs to minor details like that and actually reloading and not having unlimited ammo
@@zx6r1320 Didn't he already chamber the bullet? Why did he have to check the jam with one hand when he already chambered the bullet? Couldn't he have used his other hand again? Or did he just need style points?
@@LiliaTheSuccubus that's a Kimber 1911, notorious for too much jams when using a different magazine from the gun system, he did that because it's faster doing it with one hand and slower doing it with two hands. And you can't confirm if a gun is jammed or not when pulling the slide.
@@enzofforza1356 How is it faster with one hand? Wouldn't it be faster to reach over, pull the slide back, then let go? Or is there something special about doing it with one hand that wouldn't work with both hands?
@@LiliaTheSuccubus with two hands you can accidentally pull the slide too much and eject a bullet because it's easier to pull it to the rear, doing the one hand trick makes it harder to pull wich means you won't accidentally eject a cartridge and can be badass too

The thing that makes these fights great for me is that the killing is never effortless for John. He is constantly pushing himself to his limit, getting the crap kicked out of him, and being required to make split second decisions that could very well determine the outcome of his life. In spite of all these challenges he never gives up, never falters, and will stop at nothing to reach his goal.

I really love how they portrayed Santino as a dude with a huge ego who thinks he can take on John. Like right before the shooting happens in the stare down, Santino looks really badass with his glare, but as soon as John pulls his gun out, Santino runs away and places his guards to protect himself. It really shows his character: all for show on the outside with his dad’s power that was left behind for his sis (now him) and on the inside he’s just a coward and is probably scared beyond belief from John. Also this is shown by his really cheeky attacks against John: blowing up his house, having a huge contract for all of NY to take, etc., they’re all sucker punches. Glad to see John put one in between Santino’s eyes after he basically said he would stay in the continental forever. You can’t outplay the Devil with mortal rules.
