    Your video is the best one that explains that you need to run wires to a separate garage otherwise it will not work! Thanks for sharing!

    NIce work on the entire project. There's always more than one way to do things but your solution worked and that's all that matters. Job well done. Congrats.

      Thanks Peter! Yeah I got it to work for me, and it’s been great. Exactly what I wanted. Thanks for watching!

    Hi - The door position sensors are attached via bluetooth, and do not require wiring. They do however need to be installed in the same garage as the main unit. Thank you for the video, much appreciated! :)

      Yes, sorry kind of a chopped up video as I tried to figure it out. I’m just running two separate systems and it works great. Very happy with the product so far.

    do you need a subscription and can it auto close/up when the car arrives near the garage?

    • @scottsworld21
      @scottsworld21  Před rokem +1

      No subscription required. And no it cannot auto close/open, because there is no sensor to sense where your car is. The sensor on the actual door is only to sense if the door is open or closed so the app knows the door position. I don’t know if they make a product that auto opens, otherwise any car that pulled up the door would open, unless there was a specific sensor inside the car like a toll tag or something. Hopefully that answers your question. Thanks for watching.

    You could have just installed the controller by the existing wall controllers (which looked like they were right next to each other and then wired into the wall controllers)...I did that and it works great! Then you would only need one controller and just an extra sensor.

    • @mcalisterhayes
      @mcalisterhayes Před 2 lety

      So, I can just connect the wires to the back of the already installed wall controllers and not directly to the garage door openers them selves?

    • @maccve
      @maccve Před 2 lety

      @@mcalisterhayes yes, I actually left the garage door controllers in place and just did a little jumper wire from them to the genie controller unit. Then I could use either one…not that it was needed…

    So we don't need to reprogram again for old button and old door opener will be working as well

    • @scottsworld21
      @scottsworld21  Před rokem +1

      No. Your old opener works normal. This is just for you to send a signal from your cell phone to the opener motor.

    Why didn’t you just run a wire through the attic from the genie connect to the other garage door opener and save a few dollars lol

    • @scottsworld21
      @scottsworld21  Před 3 lety

      You could, but my two attics do not connect and it would have been very difficult to run mine through the attic, but yes you are correct if you have that option.
