  • Stimulus and response! For the A Level Biology exam, you will need to know the basic structure of a Pacinian corpuscle, and the deformation of stretch-mediated sodium ion channels in a Pacinian corpuscle-leading to the establishment of a generator potential.
    The Pacinian corpuscle is used as an example of neuronal communication of a receptor to illustrate that:
    a) receptors respond only to specific stimuli
    b) stimulation of a receptor leads to the establishment of a generator potential.
    This is for A Level AQA & OCR Students.

    Hi, could you please make a video on receptors in the eye (Rods and cones)

    Please keep going .
    An idea would be to solve some papers from different exam boards

    Very good,
    But how pacinian corpuscle differentiate between touch and pressure

      @nailartandcats Před 6 lety +8

      they are the same thing, touching something applies pressure so the pacinian corpuscle detects pressure

      @@nailartandcats they also sense vibration and are not only located in the skin but also around the organs and bones so this is an incomplete picture at the moment. There is a theory that pacinian corpuscles kinda act as a seismograph to "listen" to vibrations perhaps from the planet when we were once more intune with this. In mammals with forelimbs they could still be used to enable them to evade a natural disaster.
