Not to be a smart-ass, but Thomas Hewitt was the _character,_ Andrew Brynarski was the actor who played the character, in the remake anyway. The character's name was Thomas Sawyer in the original film, and was played by Gunnar Hansen.
It's just a house people. The 'No Trespassing' signs don't mean they are murderers or creeps, they just want privacy from folks who want to peer into their home because of a movie being filmed there.
And he wasn't from Texas. And was only convicted of a single murder (although he confessed to, and is suspected of killing more TBF). And didn't suffer from neurodegeneration.

He made furniture out of their bone, bowls out of skulls and most important... masks from the faces. He also had a suit made with human leather, and some gloves made with also human leather. Just look up google ,,Ed Gein House Inside" to see why people say its ,,Based" on him.
