- Onigirazu is a new type of Onigiri (rice ball) becoming very popular in Japan recently in 2015.
Unlike Onigiri (rice ball), Onigirazu can be prepared quickly without making into a triangular or a ball shape but just by wrapping rice and the fillings in Nori seaweed sheet.
I think it is a great idea that you can wrap more fillings than the regular ball-shaped Onigiri. Also, it looks very pretty like sandwiches!!!
Try it out with your favorite fillings ;)
---------------------------------
Onigirazu
Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: depends on what you wrap
Number of servings: N/A
Ideas:
curry flavored rice + bacon and eggs
Yukari (red Shiso leaves rice seasoning) rice + Shiso leaves + sliced cheese
white rice + shredded cabbage + Tonkatsu (pork cutlet) + Tonkatsu sauce
Directions:
1. Place Nori seaweed sheet on plastic wrap.
2. Place rice in the center, then flatten it out.
3. Place the fillings on top.
4. Cover the fillings with rice, then flatten it out.
5. Fold the corners towards the center of the rice, then wrap tightly with plastic wrap.
6. When the Nori gets soft, cut into half.

i remember watching this as a child. today i just bought the ingredients for the first time. your recipes still look amazing!
Thank you 😊
I love origirazu. I made these a couple of weeks ago and they were so good.
I love this channel. I can't believe this video is already 6 years old. Please never leave and keep making "Create Eat Happy" :)
More to come 😊
The intro was super cute! Glad you didn't edit it out. The pause you did and then started talking again made me LOL.
Wow! there are so many toys for her. I think that catching a ball part is she trying to stand by herself. Aw! I can't stand with this cuteness!!
So I made this with the tonkatsu filling and I'm kind of addicted to it now.
She is super cute! Take more videos, kids grow up fast! Thanks for sharing, love your recipes too!
Finally got a chance to try this recipe, which is just amazing! Version 1 had shiso furikake and pickled plum; version two had yasai furikake and leftover roasted chicken. Version 1 was a big hit in my daughter's lunch, and I ate one a few days later and it was still delicious. I didn't get the chance to taste version 2 as it was eaten almost immediately by my older daughter and her friend! We all agree it is a great way to use leftovers and can't wait to create new combinations! Thank you for this and all your wonderful recipes!
So satisfying to watch when you cut it into half! The tonkatsu one looks delicious!
im disappointed in myself that i have not heard of this before
it looks so much easier to eat than onigiri, and like it has a much better filling-to-rice-ratio
thank you for introducing me to this!
So cute! And great idea! I like the idea with more fillings ~~~
I just made some for lunch today and they turned out great! I like it used much less rice and nothing fall out when I eat them! Big thanks!
Charlin Cho great ;)

+ochikeron can we make onigiruzu without japanese rice ? like rice from the other country
+Yunita Sarah i wonder also.bcoz in indo dnt hv jap rice.well myb xD
+Yunita Sarah I think any short grain sticky rice should work. Maybe risotto rice too. No long grain like Basmati though, that wouldn't stick together.

It's perfect if you want to do a pic-nic for example, or eat out, because it's a middle way between the first plate (rice) and the sushi!
