Thank you. As a 1st Responder I study ESPECIALLY THESE because we might be part of s Volunteer unit HOWEVER NOTHING about our area is small & we benefit because our dept is mostly all full-time units. Ex our chief is a City Battalion Chief in Mississippi has over 40 years total Top experience & also a teacher at our academy here, we have 2 FT. Paramedics, 6 EMTS, 1 Flight medic, 6 FT Firemen, 1 RN, 4 LEO AND 6 who have anywhere from 5-40 + yrs Vol fire experience under depts like ours which is why I get upset when ALL VOL Depts get a bad name like our LEO people. Our unit is ONLY Volunteer because small town but work 15 miles of I-20 and TOP DEPT & I have a feeling how fast we are growing we won’t be Vol. much longer. But we have a ton of construction going on currently & over 100 new houses BUT MOSTLY RURAL and I have horses and 1st barn I trained at professionally years ago was under a lady who a barn that a rat ate a wire & all but 1 horse died. 2nd barn I boarded at 1 horses there survived a lightning strike barn fire because he was the only 1 W/O shoes. But I use these to help train others. THANK YOU ALL FOR THESE VIDEOS. WUSH OUR CHIEF was great at video speaking but he also has so very little tim. And looking for your stuff & coming to your channel now.

@@heathertownsend949 Same here as a volunteer, our area is huge, in Midland County, TX and we auto-assist Midland FD on most fire calls in county, we have oil and gas fields, million(s) dollar mansions, every kind of commercial structure you could imagine, and even high-rises in downtown Midland, and even an international airport, should the unthinkable(s) happen. It's good to be able to pour over all these response videos, and explainers, etc. We're well trained and have a lot of career guys who volunteer, lots of MFD crossover, and we're about to start a new fire academy for state certs for career for all our guys who arent. Also, we're along I-20 too hahah. Were aiming to be paid in a couple of years.

What an excellent video…..love having maps displayed showing the fire scene and water supply areas! As a former firefighter in a college town/ rural district, these maps help to visualize what is happening and what command is doing to establish a fire ground water supply! Happy Holidays to all of SMFR. As usual interesting and informative vlog Eric, Thanks for the information as always. How are the crews taking to the tiller training? Are just 2 personal training at a time or is the entire Company going out on the trainings? A tiller ladder sets up differantly then other ladders that SMFR members are used to. Each type or style of ladder truck or other aerial unit sets up differantly based on things like it reach and type. I am guessing that is also a part of the trainig going on with the training tiller. So where is the current ladder 34? i do not recall how large that station is and what tapparatus are assigned there. Thanks again Eric.

When either dispatch or on scene command ki think bc4) was communicating just before the 6min mark there was mention of the start of a “10 minute timer”. Was this an offensive timer before the next alarm was activated for additional response since this is what appears to be a unrated response area since there was no immediate utilization of on scene or nearby hydrants??

In general or in South Metro? They aren't that rare in large cites or densely populated areas like Chicago, Los Angles city and county, or NYC (who had a couple in the past 4 weeks). But for this area, I would assume they are not common. They can go even higher, Kansas City had an 8 alarm several years ago at an apartment complex under construction, strong winds pushed it into a subdivision.

Tower 34, Medic 34 and Tower 45 personnel are all required to be tiller trained. Both stations are Technical Rescue and their firefighters are all training together. The Fleet and Training logos are also on this apparatus to represent all the teamwork and contributions that made this apparatus possible.

We’ve seen some rural videos where air drops were made on vehicle or structure fires but that’s very rare. Aside from collapse potential and the enormous cost, Colorado has very limited air resources available during winter with freezing temperatures and few wildfires.

It’s possible that air support could be used to fight a structure fire, but it’s rare especially in a metropolitan area. This time of year in Colorado we have few air resources available due to freezing temperatures and low demand for wildland fires.

Amazing video as always, but I have to ask... Why are US american drivers so damn bad at yielding for emergency vehicles? I mean, the roads are wide enough that everybody could just go to the outside and improvise a third "lane" for the trucks easily, but some reason a lot of them are slow to do it or don't react at all. And while drivers are not perfect in a lot of other countries, it seems to me that US american drivers are especially bad at this. Is there any explanation to this (like drivers ed, traffic laws, common misconceptions, etc.) other than the usual populist "well, americans are just violently egocentric" that explains most of the american exceptionalism...
