I am sure if this came out when the original came out then this one would be the one that would sell over the OG. The color blocking plays much better than the solid black and white as it goes with the Bull's color scheme so it is more than likely Jordan would have worn these instead of just the black and white ones aka "OG".
So if you are buying shoes to somehow recreate a time period then you're buying shoes for the wrong reason. Jordans are NOT time capsules so stop treating as if they are.
I was there from the very beginning and to me it always has to do with the actual design of the shoes not what color it is or who wore it and when. Additionally, it is not like you have the actual shoes from the year it came out initially. You have an imitation or recreation of one not the actual shoe from that time period. I sold shoes when I was in college and can tell you the materials that they are using on these retros is nowhere near what it was when these shoes first came out. Some of the materials are better like the cushioning does not fall apart but as far as the luxury materials like the leather suede nowhere near with the older models had.

The treatment of 12's has been terrible lately. We keep getting 12's (minus the cherrys) in bad colorways or in colorways that make us want OG's more. Even though I thought the AMM 12's were dope, it appears many people thought otherwise. Maybe we need a stronger collab to push them into the spotlight again? Maybe Off-White or Travis?
These 12's aren't bad if you are looking for casual beaters or hoop shoes but, hold for the collection? Pass.

Respectfully... These should never have the word "Taxi" anywhere near them. The Ogs were called "Taxis" due to tbe Taxi Yellow color on the shoe (Jordan tab in the back). There is no Taxi Yellow on this shoe. These should properly be called the "Gym reds"
