The Woodlands H.S. Band placed 4th at the 2011 Bands of America Grand National Finals in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Musical selections include:
Symphony No. 7, Mvt. II - Beethoven
Uninvited - Alanis Morissette
Spices, Perfumes, Toxins! - Dorman
Symphony No. 5, Mvt. II - Prokofiev
Piano Sonata No. 1 - Dorman

I just saw this show Saturday at Nationals and I have to say it was my favorite. I marched in Avon all four years of high school, but I think the Woodlands were just amazing this year.
this is crazy how good they are. i went to north shore and we beat the woodlands at Area F pre-lims in 08 but its crazy how incredible they are.

I just saw your show at Grand Nationals and it was one of my favorites. Definitely better than the winning band. I preferred this one and Lafayette' show over the top winners. My grandson lives with me and is a trumpet player in Jenison's Marching Band. Jenison was the grand champion at our MCBA state championship. I'm so happy you used Beethoven's 7th, movement 2 so heavily in your show. It is may favorite. Too many bands use Ode to Joy. We passed your band on the street. The black coats!

Looking at this show I think that it should have placed in the top 3. I mean they did get 4th, but i don't see why when this show is obviously worth more.
how do high schools go to grand nationals just curious?? if im at a 5a school and we have a state year every other year?
They're technically Bb marching tubas, so neither. Close relative to the Contrabass bugle in G, though :)

you two had totally different show concepts so you cant really compare the two, they were different styles. but all i know is I love The Woodlands band to death so please don't say rude things that undermine all their hard work, you guys both had an amazing season.

great music, and its well executed. but the chairs and the eyeball at the front of the field??? kind of unoriginal seeing that marian did it the year before. but im not one to judge, for all I know it was a coincidence

The addition of vocals killed it for me. People out of step.
Intonation was great though, very good sound.
Don't care for the vocals.
