Elis is known as one of the greatest Brazilian jazz singers to ever live. Not only is she a hero in her home country, but she was highly respected by the greatest jazz musicians in America for her pitch, timing, and vocal prowess. In spite of her demons, in her heyday she used to tear a stage up (in Portuguese), lol. If you like Elis I can also recommend any Brasilian jazz songs sung by her peer Gal Costa. Gal is aging now but she's another one who is highly respected in the American jazz arena. One of my most favourite songs by her is called "Futuros Amantes", about a love that could never be. Chile, that one will REALLY get you obsessed, lol!

@@Pedrohnr23 we speak Brazilian Portuguese. When you start learning Portuguese as a second language you are always given (choose) one option, Portuguese BR or Portuguese PT. The same when you study to be a translator. You'll have to choose. Just like when we learn English, you choose either British or American so I don't think when somebody say I'm learning Brazilian it's wrong, because it comprises everything, language, culture, geography, etc... ❤
